This experience was mediocre at best. Scheduled two weeks ahead for three pedicures and one manicure. Still was not able to have all of us start at the same time (what is the point of having an appointment?). I was told "it's been a hectic morning." If you knew that two weeks ago you should have offered an alternate time (I stated I was open the whole day), or not overbooked knowing you had three pedicures coming in together. The pedicures were ok - they looked fine enough, and the one tech was actually friendly. The manicure was another story entirely. Amateur polish where you can see the brush strokes and the polish went over my cuticles. On the sides of my nails the polish is glopped on. She blamed the color (as if I never had that color on my nails before, but whatever). But this is the real kicker - I go to check out and see the sign that says "cash gratuities PREFERRED", not REQUIRED. The first thing the gentleman (the owner??) asks is "cash?". I let him know I found out my friend died this morning so I am a little scrambled, I only have a card. And he snickered. Who does that? To say I was angry is an understatement. Thoughtless and rude. I could have easily cancelled this morning and left them without the $90, but I thought this would help us relax a little considering the circumstances. I left, went to the ShopRite, got cash, returned, and paid the gratuity in cash because unlike him I am a person who does the right thing. Jenny and her crew are so accommodating, friendly and pleasant! It's always fun walking in there and everyone welcomes you with a smile! My sister got me a gift certificate to Bayside Nails for Christmas. It was our first time there for both of us and we were blown away with the service. I got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure, and I am beyond pleased with the outcome of both. They were helpful in deciding my color since I'm indecisive. My sister's he'll set came out beautiful. We've been to many nail salons throughout the Ocean County area but none as good as Bayside in Waretown. We'll be back! read more

If you're looking to be insulted then this is the place for you. Not only did the nail woman I had REPEATEDLY tell me I looked 12 years old (I'm 19, in college) she also felt the need to comment on the color I chose saying that it was a "grandma" color. She begged and begged for me to change it, even offered to pick out one herself. Lastly, this place is way overpriced. I got a pedicure and a full set which totaled $85. Avoid Bayside Nails!!! Jenny is VERY pushy! I went there on the recommendation of several family members and I was truly disappointed. The first time I went, it was for my wedding day. I was going for a set of acrylic pink and white nails and a french pedicure. Jenny refused to do the acrylic and instead insisted on gel nails. Then she refused to do the pink and white like I asked, and instead airbrushed them terribly. I was moved four different times when it came to the pedicure and it took almost two hours (for the pedicure) due to all the confusion. And in the end, as I was getting ready to leave, Jenny asked if I wanted my eyebrows waxed. I couldn't even get out that my eyebrows are very thin and I've never had them waxed, before she had my chair spun around and the wax on my face. I went back on a separate occasion because my family insisted she only did that because it was my wedding day and she wanted everything to turn out perfectly. I already had a set of pink and white acrylics on at that point and I was just asking her to fill them. Well.....she ripped each one off with a fake nail tip and redid them with the gel, just like she did the first time for my wedding. She told me she wouldn't charge me for the gel or for a full set because she was fixing them as a gift for me, but in the end I was charged full price and she insisted she never said anything of the sort. The final time I went back (I know, I know, but my family swears by her and had a conversation with her to get her to ease up a little on me), I was furious by the time I left. It was Fourth of July week and I brought a simple Pinterest picture with me for her to do. Her response was that the picture looked nice, but she was going to make my nails even better. She insisted on doing her own thing, which looked nothing like the picture, and then proceeded to tell me how wonderful her work is and how it looks so much better than a silly Pinterest picture. I would NOT recommend this salon to anyone, especially for the fact that she did not soak off my nails and chose to rip them off with the fake nail tip, damaging my real nail even more than it already was due to the acrylic. If you are looking for somewhere new this may just be it. I stopped having my nails done for a while because it was so rare to get them done and have them look great. I've had both acrylics and gel in the past but just couldn't find anywhere that did them well. Tried so many places and was frustrated. I decided to check reviews to see if there was anywhere around that got good reviews. Well this was the place so I decided to give it a try. I had pink and white gel done by Jenny. For the first time I had the gel nails done properly! She took her time and explained everything. Best of all they looked beautiful! It's been three weeks and they still look good. Of the many different places I have gone this one is by far the best! I'll be going in next week. I should also add how friendly everyone there is. So if you are looking for a new nail salon I'd definitely give them a try! read more

Went there after going to another salon where I had a pink and white set put on. The set was coming off after two weeks. I was so embarrassed. So I went to bayside because of the great reviews. Needless to say they were great. They redid everything and now my nails look great. Everyone is friendly and funny. And the place is the cleanest I've been to. Spotless ! So the person who said it was dirty in the last review must of been taking about the other place near by. I'm hooked on this place now. read more

Looks can be deceiving!!! The owner is extremly rude and unprofessional! I would never ever go back even if it was the last salon on earth!!! She haggles customers, very pushy, and trys to scam the customer anyway she can for a few extra bucks! Dont waste your hard earned money there! read more

Love this place! I called about 10 minutes in advance and they took me right in without a problem. Very friendly staff & they really care about the job they are doing. They offer a satisfaction guarantee, if you don't like your nails you get your money back ( even though that won't happen because they do a fabulous job). They actually talk to you and make sure you're comfortable. And a review from a little while ago said this place is dirty.... But it's not!
