My wife and I have been members for over 4 years and are very active in a few ministries including high school and as prayer partners. The teaching is grounded in Scripture and relevant to your daily walk. The Senior Pastor is Kurt Parker, who leads with integrity and a heart for seeing the next generation become church leaders. Other pastors teach in rotation who are equally sound in their teaching the Word of God. The worship experience is Spirit-filled, and the focus is more on praising our Creator and not on yourself. The worship leaders are talented and have produced their own music and shared on Spotify and CDs. The size of the congregation varies on the season. More attend when snowbirds are in town. But the fellowship is solid--especially if you're in a small group. That's where growth and intimacy flourish. There are two services: 9am and 10:30am. In short, Harborside carries out their mission faithfully: "To love and lead people into encounters with the fullness of God." Come and see for yourself.

Lots of traditional hymns, beautiful piano, and organ music along with an occasional dulcimer and wonderful soloists. The present sanctuary was dedicated in 1956 and has beautiful stain glass windows and an "Angel Tree" out front. The ministry outreach includes hosting AA meetings, Exercise and Yoga classes, a Faith Community Nurse and partnerships with other faith-based communities and charities in Safety Harbor. The church has donated part of it's property for use to the Safety Harbor Community Gardens. Ginny Ellis, the pastor is inspirational and kind. In Christ, a safe harbor for all.

After more than 20 years at Calvary Church Clearwater, I can honestly say this is a place for real…read morepeople--not perfect people. It's a church full of broken, imperfect folks who are simply doing their best to follow Jesus, and that authenticity is what has kept our family here for so long. Like any large church, there have been seasons where decisions didn't sit well with everyone. But one thing I've learned over the years is that there are always two sides to every story, and the public usually only hears one. I've seen firsthand that Pastor Willy and the leadership team are thoughtful, kind, and prayerful people who genuinely seek to make decisions they believe are necessary for the health and future of the church. This is a Bible-believing, Bible-preaching church that stays grounded in truth while still creating space for grace and growth. Yes, it's a big church--but if you get involved in a ministry or join a Life Group, it quickly feels much smaller and more personal. That's where real connection happens. I'm also continually encouraged by the impact beyond the walls: planting over 150 churches, helping revitalize struggling ones, sending more than 150 people into missions, and supporting over 150 children through foster care and adoption. That kind of outward focus says a lot. At the end of the day, it's a community of sinners--just like me--walking together and trying to follow Jesus a little more faithfully each day. And that's a place worth being.

Countryside Baptist Church - Pastor John teaching

We have been members of Countryside Baptist Church for about three years. We visited because our…read moreprior church was still having limited services and no service for youths since COVID. Our youngest grandkids, then 9 and 10, were restless in the one service. We discovered that Countryside had an ongoing youth program and an outdoor drive in worship service with singers. The Pastor actually taught from the bed of a pickup truck! Now there are two full services inside on Sunday plus Bible study Wednesday evening, with multiple Sunday School classes between the worship services plus many programs for all ages from babies to retirees. In back in an auxiliary building there are Sunday School classes, youth classes, a Fellowship Hall & kitchen for shared meals, a food pantry & clothes closet for those with needs, a Chinese Church and an Arabic Church. There is also a 9 passenger golf cart to shuttle people from front to back building. We fell in love immediately with Pastor John and the entire church. He is so personable. He walks around and greets everyone just prior to each service and is personally connected to every member. And not just him but the whole church. There are no strangers there. If you attend a worship service and are not welcomed and greeted by at least a handful of people, you must have run quickly out the side exit! It's not a huge church but big enough to have many ministries and opportunities to serve. But the staff and members give it the feel of a small church, homey and safe. And Pastor John's teaching is modern, on point, and fully backed by the Bible. Come and visit and I promise you will be refreshed, blessed and want to stay! www.countrysidebaptist.org
