The restaurant is part of a hotel which has a prime waterfront location in Prien, close to the ferry terminal and the railway station for the narrow gauge Chiemseebahn which runs the mile to Prien DB station. Many of the tables have great waterside views over the lake.
We chose Wiener Schnitzel, and käsespätzle (German gnocchi with a cheese sauce) and fried onions, with a side salad; and local wheat beer to drink.
The food was ok, but quantity ruled rather than quality (my partner had two schnitzel). The fried onions were the type you buy ready-made, and crunchy but pretty tasteless. It would have been four stars but service was pretty slow (the staff kept disappearing, and didn't even bother offering dessert) and despite a bill of €40 they would not accept credit cards - hard to believe in a hotel.
