My debt with Howard Lee Schiff was a $300 account with Merrick Bank, even paying $90 a month for 20 months, $1080, according to Schiff I still had a balance of $273.08. When it was all said and done for these thieves, it took 37 payments of $90 to settle a $300 debt, that's $3,330 or a little over 11 times the original debt. If you ask for an accounting of why your debt never seems to go down, you will be informed that they are going to charge you the lawyer's hours to compile the documentation at $175 per hour, minimum 3 hours, $525 and you need to pay them upfront before they will give you any accounting. Do not under any circumstances trust them to do what they say in court, they will try to get a default judgement against you, show up to every single date with all of your records.

My disabled mother had some credit card debt that accrued when my father left and she was forced to raise children on her own with no help from the government or anyone else. It was less than 7,500. They will offer no help whatsoever to her and treat her like a second-class citizen. She can't even move on many days and has life-threatening disabilities, yet they are requiring the payment in full within 6 months. They are rude on the phone, don't answer half the time, and drag their feet on everything possible in order to prolong this ordeal and cause as much grief and hardship to us. It is amazing that with all the complaints on here, the BBB, and other sites no one has stepped in to stop these monsters. Yelp would be upset if I wrote what I actually think but if you have the options to avoid these scumbags do so at all cost!
