Upon arrival, we discovered the cabin was even better than the pictures made it seem. It was very clean and had an amazing view. The resort offers a lot of amenities, including nostalgic playground equipment, two swimming pools, quite a few BBQ grills, and best of all they have numerous boating/fishing/swimming docks. I ended up catching the biggest fish I have ever caught (a channel catfish) from the dock in front of our cabin. I cant speak highly enough about the staff. They were extremely welcoming and friendly. They even offered us a few fishing tips. The rates were very reasonable- we got a 4 hour rental for $180 plus gas, and I only called yesterday to reserve it. Must be 25 with a credit card and valid driver's license to rent. The owner was very thorough in explaining how to use the boat, gave directions around the area, pointers and tips in case we got lost, help with how to maneuver the boat in case of choppy waters or wake from other boats, etc. The boat was clean and quite easy to use. They also have jet skis and speed boats as well as tubes available for rent, also at very reasonable prices. He made suggestions for places to eat, asked if we had a good time- a very personable guy. I would definitely use this company again. They also have vacation cottages available for rent here.

We were looking for a place to vacation and nostalgia led us back here. My mom and brother both had cabins. My brother was in 8 - which was a bit tucked away and close to the water. I got a hotel room for the week so I could have my own space. The hotel rooms don't have kitchens and there also weren't hair dryers in either the hotel or the cabins. Luckily, I had read through the website and brought my own. The cabins are a bit outdated but they did have a full kitchen. I enjoyed sitting on the porch while overlooking the lake. My nephew enjoyed the playground and was fascinated by the older slide. The game room seemed as it hadn't changed at all. There was at least one machine that took your money. The pool table also got jammed at least once. The pool was heated. My mom and nephew went swimming on the one day it wasn't raining. The pool was fine until the sun went away. We visited in October so they were lucky to use the pool at all. Being in close proximity to the lake, there was a lot of fishing that was done. Overall, this is a quiet resort. We had a great time visiting again. The hotels and cabins were extremely affordable (hotel was less than $400 for a week). Hopefully we will visit again in the summer when we can enjoy the lake more.

Breezy Point has the charm so much of the area has lost. The overall ambience is a mix of 70's, 80's and today, and that's most definitely one of the keys to their success. If you have fond memories of the Lakes past humble and fun persona, they'll be rekindled here for sure. Even so, everything is kept very very clean and comfortable. We had a chance to talk to Teresa, the owner and the Diana from housekeeping. Both of them were very friendly and helpful, and they confirmed what appeared to be the case: the place is neat as a pin under the close observation of Pat, Teresa's husband. The attention to detail is evident. We didn't see any of the bugs or spiderwebs that have always - at least for me - been part of the Lake experience. Every corner of this property is ship-shape and updated as needed, from the Weber grills without a scratch to the very comfortable beds. I'm so glad we found this place and I predict we'll be regulars.

Coming from a college town where tons of protocols are done, a couple things rubbed me the wrong way. But ultimately, I felt safe. If you have kiddos who love outdoor swimming pools, this is the resort to stay at! My four year old has a phobia of not seeing his feet in the lake water. He will choose the 'blue water' over the 'brown water' any day of the week. This pool boasts a lake view. You also have the pool to yourself almost all day everyday since a majority of the folks that stay here go out on the lake each day. Talk about a great socially distanced week full of swimming and family! This was our third stay at this resort. The staff is friendly. The property is well maintained. The location is convenient and near a lot of great spots. There's internet in each unit. There's a lot to enjoy at Lakewood Resort.
