Saturday evening I discovered a wasp's nest a couple of feet above my front door. Alarmed, I frantically searched online for reputable exterminator and was about to give up but came across Bee Busters' website and was so glad to see they offered 7 days a week emergency service. I called on Sunday afternoon and spoke with George, who took the time to ask me some questions, and informed me that I had "beneficial wasps" and gave me a 20 minute lesson on European Paper Wasps. He was very knowledgable, and I appreciated his honesty in not wanting to charge me for what would be a wasted trip out to my house. If I ever have a "real" bee problem, yellowjackets or a hornet's nest, I'll definitely be calling Bay Area Bee Busters. read more

As other reviewers have noted, these guys over charge and are rude. Add to that arrogant and you have the perfect combination! It seems the owner and his 'contractor' are frequently out of sync with each other on what was done on the job and whether or not it was paid for. Dan was a lifesaver when I had yellow jackets swarming through the wall of my building into my apartment. Not only did he explain exactly what he was going to do to remove them but he and his team worked quickly to get me back into my apartment. George was amazingly helpful. We have a large population of European Paper Wasps in our yard, which I mistook for yellow jackets. He said European Paper Wasps are very helpful and are NOT a pest. They eat mosquitos and spiders and will not sting unless you step on them. He is great at educating customers about their options, and is really honest. Most of these one star reviews are correct. George will ramble on about different bees and wasps and not get to the point of helping the situation. He wanted me to "get a close look" at the wasps/bee and describe them to him or send a photo. In my opinion, not my job and part of the reason why I called him. He wanted to argue that it could be the that the wasps/bee are not aggressive enough to actually remove. I explained that there are kids involved and since the bees are on a balcony, they can and have flown into the house. This is not a backyard situation. Once again, he was telling me that this was an assumption and in fact the kids might not get stung. I explained to him that it was a safety issue. By no means, am I trying to kill anything for fun. It is a situation where I wanted him to come out and help. Not lecture me. read more

George, owner of beebusters is one piece of work, not only does he over charge for his work demands cash or personal checks, but does not do a through job, the day he was here; he berated his contracter Dan, saying how stupid he was and that George would clean up his mess. Not professional at all. He tried to make a pass at my wife, which was irritating to both of us, His ego is overbearing and he enjoys making people feel stupid. Charges $150 to $300 an hour for mindless work then leaves, in the last case, we had to call another bee removal company who did the job for much less money. Buyer beware! End result, we reported him to the BBB of San Mateo County and sent a report to appropriate agency. read more

My garden shed had been invaded by honeybees, so I called Bee Busters. I liked that the relocate the bees instead of just spraying and leaving the hive in the wall to rot, as we found an old dead hive in the wall of the shed, and that attracts new bees. Dan came out and had to pry some siding off the shed to find the bees setting up a hive. I guess we're gonna have to replace this rotting structure sooner rather than later, but he was done quickly and put the shed back the way he found it. These guys are knowledgeable professionals who get the job done right and take pride in their work. I called many other people before them and they all promised the moon till they saw what the job actually entailed. These guys successfully removed a HUGE wasp nest 2.5 stories up! It required some demo and repair to get to the nest. They left the area looking just as it did pre-wasps. They set appropriate expectations for cost and what the process would entail prior to coming out. If you want the job done right, call these guys. read more

I have to compliment George on being honest and straight forward. I called about wasp nests that I had seen in the eves of my house. The wasps had not bothered or stung us but I was concerned. George explained that they are paper wasps and don't go after people (unless you sit or step on them!) or food. They are actually beneficial in that they eat other insects, particularly mosquitos. You want the best to take care of pesky bees, wasps, etc., you want to call George. He knows his business after several decades of dealing with such problems and it is critical to get a company specializing in such stinging insects. Standard pest control companies simply don't know enough to permanently eradicate a given hive. If any vestige of a hive remains, with just a few drops of honey or honey on wax, some day a new hive will open up in the same place. Not the cheapest, but reliable and both George, the owner, and his general contractor, Dan, are really nice guys. read more

George helped us with a swarm a few years ago outside our home in San Mateo and he was great. He came within an hour and was professional and caring with the bees, and took the swarm away. We have no further issues. At our home in Burlingame, we had a cluster of bees on a tree. I called George again and he advised me that this was probably just a group of bees who lost their queen, and to keep an eye on it. He was friendly, informative and helpful. I had a hive of bees under a 40 foot long shipping container. Dan came out and removed a large metal plate on the floor of the container to get to the queen and hive. He retrieved the bees, which is what we wanted, and cleaned up so they would not return. He did a great job and I would use Bee Busters again if I needed help with honey bees. read more

I had a major wasp nest problem and they came out right away. The nest was inside the wall of my house and wasps were coming in the house! It freaked me out, but they were wonderful and got everything cleaned out and they were reasonably priced. I would definetly use them again for any insect/bee issues! read more

If you have a bee/wasp problem and really want to solve it, call these guys. After discovering that we had a large yellowjacket nest in our attic, we called western exterminator and orkin. These guys would only come and spray poison through the small hole where the bees were coming in and out, and would not remove the nest or do the necessary repair work to the roofline to prevent it from happening again. Then I called bee busters. I spoke to george (the owner) and he sent Dan out to do the preliminary estimate & treatment. Then Francisco came out and actually removed the huge! nest from our attic and did all of the necessary repair work to the roof and shingles, and even came with a matched quart of paint so I wouldnt have to hire a painter to come do the job. Sure, they cost more than the other guys, but it costs a bit more to do the job right instead of doing it half-assed like the other exterminating companies. Now I can hang out in my bedroom again without being afraid of encountering rogue yellowjackets. read more
