Ramen Bar
Alexander D.

Solid KBBQ choice! I will begin with the waitstaff was amazing with their service and even provided a comp due to an error for one of our friends however it led to an awkward reaction from a manager that might have been better in private. Nonetheless the vibes of this place were great with music and all tables seeming to be enjoying a solid experience. Now the most important the food which to begin my favorite was the ramen bar with the variety of toppings in the back. I also enjoyed the fired chicken which was a really good appetizer. For the main attraction the variety of meats are solid my favorite being bulgogi or thinly sliced pork. I do wish that they added their own flare on seasonings and sauces to add to the experience overall.

I heard a lot of amazing things about Bawi and was looking forward to trying it but was disappointed. It did not live up to the hype and my friend who has been there before was also disappointed as well, saying that maybe they were having an off day. Upon arrival, the staff was very quick to address that they will be with us and got us seated right away. The host counter had a lot of fun items on sale like stickers, pens, and more stationary items. The interior was simple but clean. They played Kpop in the background and had fun drawings on the wall and fairy lights. They also had a little store towards the back of the restaurant, next to the bathroom. They had a ramen bar, were you are able to make your own ramen. They also sold snacks and had claw machines as well. After being seated our waiter, Gabe, gave us some time to look over the menu and place in our first round of meat order. We were given a mini plate of side dishes which included, seaweed salad, pickled radish (purple and yellow), kimchi, fish cakes, and cucumber kimchi. They also gave us a sauce tray with three different sauces, the table also had a few sauces as well. The fried chicken was amazing! It was very crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The cheese corn was good! The steamed egg was okay, it had a burnt taste to it, that made it difficult to finish. The meat we were given were okay. A lot of the pieces were more fat than meat. Especially the marinated pork belly and galbi, it just felt like we were grilling fat chunks. The thinly sliced pork belly was interesting, I have been to a lot of kbbq spots, but never received thinly sliced pork belly in shaved/roll form, almost like brisket. The brisket and bulgogi was good. The service was quick and he checked up on us often enough that it wasn't overbearing. Overall, all the staff was very sweet. Every interaction was very friendly and helpful.

Recently I completed a 7-day stretch of trying at least one new-to-me restaurant per day. Day five was at Bawi Korean BBQ. I've been intrigued by the concept of Korean BBQ for a while, but I know it's better in a group setting and I'm not often with a group that has the time or desire to give it a try. Not wanting to wait any longer, I visited on my own. I thought it was a little overwhelming both cooking for myself and eating while being cognizant of the time limit per visit, so it can be done solo, but I do recommend being with a group if possible to share the cooking responsibilities. Even by myself, I thought Bawi was a fun time. You can get up to two meats at once and I tried to adhere to the same for sides/appetizers. The Korean corn dog and fried wings were my favorite apps while I didn't like the cheese corn at all. The beef bulgogi was my favorite meat, though I liked the pork belly and short ribs too. The garlic and herb chicken wasn't very impressive. The strawberry mochi dessert was interesting and something I'd get again.

This was my second time coming here and I loved it as much as the first! Very cute place with great service. We ordered a bunch of meats, along with the wagyu and we couldn't help but notice how tender and soft the meats all were. Absolutely delicious. We ordered some appetizers as well and they were so good, my favorite was the cheesy corn! They give you some kimchi and seaweed salad to start off with, along with rice. They have additional noodles you can order which is nice with your meal. We had no problems cooking the food on the table grill. Then we got some mochi after and it was sooo good! Would definitely recommend this place for a group but just two people is cool too!

Great times! Thank you Kong for the amazing service. Beautiful ambiance and food. We had a great time.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise. I was completely unaware of restaurant. I've never been to Korea so I do not know how it compares to the real thing but what I will tell you is that this was some pretty good BBQ. Very unique in that you get to cook your own main course. Chicken, beef, pork, veggies and/or seafood. The appetizers were excellent, fresh, crisp and tasty. Try the chicken wings, they put BW3's to shame. Fresh cut of rib eye, short ribs, brisket, pork belly cooked to perfection (by me) and you just can't any fresher. Excellent all the way around and if you'd like more, just ask and they'll bring you more. Fresh shrimps and scallops, calamari, you name it, you can cook it. This is such a unique place and the service was quite good. Thank you Nick for being our server, you done good. All in all this was a very experience and to be honest for what you get, a good value at $40 a person. We will tell our friends and we can't wait to bring them here.

The staff was really helpful when given instructions on how to use everything and how the service goes. The food was really good as well. They had really great options to choose from.

Auce-what more can I say?? Staff was super friendly and the bonus add on of auce Crablegs can't beat. Busy establishment so be prepared to wait a little bit worth it.

What a great experience! We were looking to go out last Friday, but wanted to do something a little different from the boring sit down restaurants. Called bawi and they didn't have that long of a wait so we rushed right over. The restaurant itself is brand new, everything looked clean and perfect...love the decor btw. Our waitress was so helpful in explaining Korean bbq style dining(we both had never been). I assumed since it was ayce the food quality might be lacking, but it absolutely wasn't! Buckets of crab legs, wagu steak, scallops, they had it all! We started with spring rolls and spicy fried chicken as our appetizers, the fried chicken was amazing! All the sauces were homemade and I loved the lettuce wraps they brought to the table! At one point our grill started smoking(we used a delicious dry rub they have on all the tables) but our waitress immediately showed up and swapped out our grill with a clean one. Price point was what I would expect for the experience($45 a person) Can't wait to go back and try the seafood boil and ramen options. We were just too stuffed at that point.

My husband and I recently tried Bawi. It's not a bad price for all you can eat. The meat was good quality, and so were the scallops, squid, and shrimp. I really like the marinated short rib, NY strip, and had about 5 orders of the garlic shrimp. I only had the spicy ramen and didn't try the other appetizers or noodles. The ramen was okay. Next time, I plan on trying the glass noodles. Service was friendly and quick. Our grill was changed out when there was too much char. Definitely will be going there again. Oh...can't forget about the desserts. Moon pie ice cream was okay. The ube ice cream bar was good and nice cool end to a meaty meal.

Perfect place for a celebration! It is so so fun here! Their little market in the back is super too! I will come here as often as I can!

If you're going for the experience of Korean BBQ, it's pretty good. The meat is alright, could be better imo. other food is pretty good other than that. Visit both time and the water taste pretty bad twice. I thought it was the metal cup they used but nope, it was their water. I wouldn't drink their water and just get soda until they fix their water system.

This past weekend, they were at their usual Friday spot for the first time this season, so of course we stopped for some amazing food. My husband and his friend both ordered the brisket grilled cheese, my daughter had the fried chicken tenders and french fries, and I had the brisket Mac n cheese bowl with fried onions. Everything tasted as good as it sounds! I could seriously have that Mac n cheese bowl every single day and not get sick of it. Portions on all orders are huge! And their bbq sauces are honestly incredibly so darn good. I could not recommend this food truck enough. They make weekly stops in Slinger, Mequon, Grafton, Cedarburg and West Bend. Follow them on FB for their latest schedules and menu because you won't want to miss them this season!

I found myself looking for a Friday fish fry close to Germantown so that I could be back by 6:30pm…read more After looking through my bookmarks of places I hadn't been to yet, Crave Bar & Food's pictures intrigued me the most. In addition to the beer battered walleye with potato pancakes I got beer batter cheese curds and a dozen wings. Happy hour is 2pm to 5pm Monday through Friday and, along with having drink specials, select appetizers are $7 each. The cheese curds, which are huge and come as an order of nine, are one of those select apps. The batter didn't have much beer taste and the shredded Parmesan on top seemed unnecessary, but for $7 they were a steal and even at the regular price of $10.50 they're an excellent value. The old pictures I saw of their wings made them look like they were coated in a rub even though the menu didn't state it. Just to be safe, so I could taste the rub if there was one, I got half the wings without sauce and half with honey BBQ. There didn't end up being a rub on the wings, but the sauceless ones were still great. The honey BBQ was bold tasting, yet didn't overpower the flavor of the chicken. Although I enjoyed the wings, $18 for a dozen is on the very high end of what I would pay, especially since they were average sized and not jumbo. The amount of food on the walleye plate blew me away. Even if they gave me just one of the two large walleye fillets, I feel like that would have been about fair for the price. The two huge fillets made it feel like I hit the fish fry jackpot. Similar to the cheese curds, I didn't taste any beer in the batter, but the fillets were good regardless. I prefer potato pancakes that are thin and crispy, but their thicker potato pancakes were great even with largely being soft due to their thickness. I liked the herbs in the potato pancakes and was a big fan of the cinnamon applesauce compared to plain applesauce most other restaurants provide. Throughout dinner I heard some of the hostesses and waitresses stressing about reservations and having enough tables. Apparently I got lucky that a table was available right away when I got there at 4:30pm. I guess call to make a reservation if you plan on coming on a Friday night.

Instead, they opened a location in Brown Deer, which I guess isn't super far away. I ordered a $19 combo platter of spareribs and smoked chicken thighs with sides of BBQ rice and (for $2 more) hand cut fries. I upgraded to the corn bread muffin for a $1 extra (which they didn't bother including in the to go bag) and added three smoked wings to the combo platter for $5. I also got a $9 side of smoked gouda mac and cheese. My initial reaction when I opened the $27 combo platter container was "really, that's it"? Now, to be fair, the chicken was de-boned, so that took up less room, and I'll again mention they didn't give me the corn bread muffin I ordered so that would have taken up some space. Plus, the wings in the container were extra, so without those it would look even skimpier albeit slightly cheaper priced. All that said, the meats tasted good and had nice smoke flavor. I enjoyed their BBQ sauce, which I appreciate coming on the side for dipping. The rice was a little hard, but still edible. I thought the smoked gouda mac and cheese was great, but it's a tad pricey for a side item.

One kid ordered a BBQ chicken wrap without the BBQ sauce or tomatoes and got fries for the side, my wife and other kid split a half pepperoni and half cheese pizza, and I got a Caesar chicken wrap with sour cream cheddar cheese tater tots for my side. We also got mozzarella sticks and wings with a sweet and sassy BBQ sauce. The mozzarella sticks were Italian breaded, which I like. They tasted good, but $9.50 for seven sticks that are on the smaller side is a bit much. The wings, however, were great. Decent size and you get 10 of them for $12. The older kid that didn't want BBQ sauce in his wrap ended up enjoying two of the wings, which has a subtle kick to the sauce. We'd get these again. The pizza had a little too much sauce, but it wasn't hard for my wife to scrape off some of it. She and the younger kid both like the pizza, which is good because the younger one can be quite picky at times. Both the older kid and I enjoyed our wraps. I thought mine in particular had a good amount of really crunchy chicken. He liked his fries even though I thought the one I tried was a little bland. I appreciate that the tots seemed homemade, but I really didn't taste the cheddar or the chive, so I probably wouldn't get those again for the $5 up charge.
