The food I ordered was rich and spicy even though I was told the curry chicken was not spicy. Prices are fair. Yet on certain days you can purchase special priced food items if you prefer a bargain price. I ordered jerk chicken, curry chicken, and oxtails. They all came with vegetables and rice. My husband and I sampled the food for a late lunch/ dinner. He said it was delicious but too spicy for his taste yet he ate all of the jerk chicken and tasted the other food. He preferred the jerk chicken the most. I tasted all three and agreed they were spicy and delicious - the least spicy being the curry chicken. I love spicy food though. It tasted as good as the Jamaican food I had near Ft Campbell in Clarksville, Tennessee. My favorite was the oxtail. I liked the Jerk Chicken and Curry Chicken equally. The food is very filling and plentiful. RNJ is the nearest and most ideal option for Caribbean/Jamaican food in Ft. Belvoir. I highly recommend trying their specials on certain days (look at photo posted on my review). The location of Riddim N Jerk is parallel to the hospital in Fort Belvoir and beside the hotel. It is very easy to find. Parking is wide and spacious. I ordered my meals without waiting in line and didn't have to wait long for my order to be fulfilled. You need military ID or need to get a visitor pass to go through the gates to get inside Ft. Belvoir. I food prepped the leftover food in glass meal prep containers to share with my husband. So far I have four containers left of food to eat, and our order has given us meals for 3-4 days. Overall, highly satisfied with the food and customer service.

Both meals came with Jamaican red beans & rice and cabbage. Both were excellent! The goat was fork tender and flavorful. The curry was just slightly sweet with just enough heat to feel on your tongue but not enough to make you go running for a glass of milk. Excellent balance! The jerk was a bit hotter, as it should be. The jerk was not overly hot but will make your forehead sweat after a few bites. All in all, very good Caribbean Island cuisine.

The rice and peas were seasoned so well and cabbage was delicious.

If the person at the counter had communicated with us about the time it would have made a difference. Being polite goes a long way. BTW-someone came in for a mobile order and was told it would be a wait. They muttered some words I will not write. In truth-it was our fault for ignoring the massive red flag-empty restaurant at lunch time. Hope they work out their issues but we aren't going back.

On the way back I got a movie on my AMC A-List at AMC Potomac Mills, then walked around the mall & debated what I was going to eat for dinner, there was still traffic getting back to MD and would've been 9 before getting home, and looked at the food court and decided to try the Poke place, Pokerea. Staff was friendly, an assembly line of various ingredients to choose from like other Poke places, and I was amazed at how good this place was. This is the best Poke I've had in the DC area, and it's in a mall food court! Coincidentally, the other time I visited was a Wednesday too. My girlfriend & I were traveling back from Myrtle Beach, SC on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. We got to the mall in time to eat dinner before the movie we wanted to see with a little bit of time to spare to walk around the mall in addition to simply eating. I told her how great Pokerea was. Everything was just as great as I remembered, and she thought it was great too. If I'm back down that direction, I'd definitely be back.
