Ah what can I say about Erich Zeiss, except I would rent a space in the kitchen for a week and just…read morewake up to eat their food and go back to sleep...in which case is a little bit of how I feel eating all that meat. Very good food coma effect, especially when eating an abundant amount of meat. Good and tasty meat but not the best I've had. Erich Zeiss wurst and other meat products are tasty. If you want meat and sides, yes, herkommen.
I haven't tried everything but only a few selections including their sausages, ham hock, beef with onions, various potato sides. All in all very tasty but again, not the best I have had.
The ham hock is off the hook when five minutes freshly out. How I got it five minutes out? They ran out and when a couple tourist ahead of me asked for the same as I asked, the wonderful lady said five minutes, bam! fresh crisp pork skin and fat.
Their Rindwurst (beef sausage) reminds me too much of Hillshire Farm Polska Kielbasa that I can get at any supermarket here in the Unites States, I figured just by looking at it but I didn't want to eat the same thing I had the nights before. Any hoot, like I said I had better German sausage elsewhere.
The beef that seems to be sitting in a sauce with onions is pretty good also but not so tender. It past well for an average lunch item though.
All in all, I'd say Erich Zeiss is somewhere between fast food that is somewhat commercial originating from a simple butcher style meat-serve.
Not my first time and probably not my last :]
