So there was a May Day festival going on the two days we were in Frankfurt which was amazing…read morebecause it meant loads of outdoor street vendors, including this shop which had set up an outdoor sausage tent. I'm not sure if they always have an outdoor option, but they did the night we walked by and I'm sure glad we stopped. Now, first of all I was lured in by the smells of brats cooking, then hooked by the sight of them. Once I saw they also had beer on tap I was sold. I was a bit nervous because I literally speak no German, but I was assisted by a friendly local in line and then found out that the staff all speaks fluent English, and is actually insanely friendly. After some chatting I got what I was looking for which was a brat, some fries, and a solid German beer. Overall the brat was amazing, in part due to the homemade bun, and the beer was thirst quenching. The fries were actually really basic and nothing to write home about, but I'm landing on five stars for this place because I did not find any servers that were more friendly than the folks working at this sausage stand, and I'd absolutely recommend going back to this place if you're looking for a satisfying and affordable meal in Frankfurt.

Had a Frankfurt style bratwurst there, and was pleased with it. The location isin the…read moreLiebfrauenberg plaza, so it was a good place to get some food and rest. Since it was a nice day, decided to eat outside. Not too shabby.

Very good food coma effect, especially when eating an abundant amount of meat. Good and tasty meat but not the best I've had. Erich Zeiss wurst and other meat products are tasty. If you want meat and sides, yes, herkommen. I haven't tried everything but only a few selections including their sausages, ham hock, beef with onions, various potato sides. All in all very tasty but again, not the best I have had. The ham hock is off the hook when five minutes freshly out. How I got it five minutes out? They ran out and when a couple tourist ahead of me asked for the same as I asked, the wonderful lady said five minutes, bam! fresh crisp pork skin and fat. Their Rindwurst (beef sausage) reminds me too much of Hillshire Farm Polska Kielbasa that I can get at any supermarket here in the Unites States, I figured just by looking at it but I didn't want to eat the same thing I had the nights before. Any hoot, like I said I had better German sausage elsewhere. The beef that seems to be sitting in a sauce with onions is pretty good also but not so tender. It past well for an average lunch item though. All in all, I'd say Erich Zeiss is somewhere between fast food that is somewhat commercial originating from a simple butcher style meat-serve. Not my first time and probably not my last :]

Since it is a deli the food is displayed so you can just point at what you want. You can also choose the amount, this is good for experimentation. Along with being traditional, the food is decently priced. It's also centrally located near the historical city hall. There is outdoor seating on picnic tables, but you can take it to go. My boyfriend had fleischkäse which I can only describe as a slice of bologna -loaf. It is served warm and I hear sometimes with an egg. He had it with fried potatoes. I had a Kalbsfrickadellen. It was a well seasoned fried meatball. It was appetizing and sastisfieng. Not too strange. The potato salad was on the the sweet side. Both dishes were served with a dollop of mustard.

Darunter befindet sich eine Pampe aus Reis und ?Käse/Sahne? und ach doch, einge ganze Stange Spargel kleingeschnitten. Das ist fernab von irgendwie akzeptabel, lieber Feinkost Ebert!!
