I actually came onto this site looking for our counselor Becka. I came to the Mechanicsburg site to…read morejoin a group for family members dealing with addiction in the home. From 2016/17 thru 2018 I attended group with councilor Becka. In 2018 she could no longer lead our group as she was needed to write a new program for an extended rehab. Our group was allowed to continue to meet in the building without her present, but we were soon to fall apart without her guidance. My one year to 18 months of counseling there was invaluable. My beautiful daughter was battling a heroine addiction and the education, companionship, understanding and direction given by our counselor was priceless. Talking with her and other parents with the same issues was helping me keep some kind of sanity and helped me to know I was not alone. strong bonds of love and respect were made by all attending. The educational component helped us parents to know the proper way to support our children without enabling them. it has been seven years since our group has been together; some of our children, including my daughter Emily have passed, but we may be getting together soon and I would love to see Becka again and invite her to our group. Her guidance has been a god sent to me and others in our group. Addiction is a very hard thing to live through, this counseling is so necessary and appreciated. sincerely, Barb M

I highly recommend Mazzitti and Sullivan Mechanicsburg to those struggling with alcoholism,…read moreaddiction, and/or mental health issues. The staff and the program at M&Z Mechanicsburg are outstanding! I was in and out of M&Z a few times. I completed the bare minimum of the program back in early 2018. In March of 2019, I found myself back for another evaluation (not court ordered, all voluntary). Intensive Outpatient (IOP) was recommended. I struggled with the program for about 2 months before working to get in to their partial program (5 days a week from 9a-1p). I didn't last more than 5 days in that program before relapsing. I was discharged unsuccessfully from M&S. Fast forward to July of 2019 when I checked in to an inpatient rehab for 28 days. Upon completing inpatient, I once again reached out to Mazzitti & Sullivan. They welcomed me back. I was in the IOP from mid August thru the beginning of October. I stepped down to regular outpatient and remained in group therapy until the end of December. I also had individual counseling sessions throughout the entire outpatient program, and I continued those sessions through mid February. Mazitti & Sullivan (Mechanicsburg), and my counselor, Kyle, are a big part of my recovery story. The entire staff at the Mechanicsburg office is amazing. I looked forward to my appointments and groups. I really worked through a lot of issues that were holding me back from sobriety in the past. I was able to be open and felt that my thoughts and feelings were heard and respected. The communication with my counselor was easy and open. I took to heart and mind all of his advice and feedback. The group sessions were very informative and positive. I learned a lot about myself, alcoholism, and recovery at M&Z.

If I was able to give negative stars it be a negative 1000 . Now i have been going here for years…read more. My first negative experience was when I missed my one appointment . I was going every 3 months and I forgot for the first time and I usually got a phone call . When I asked the girl at the front desk why I didnt get a call she said well those are curtosy calls we dont need to remind an adult. So then I got very upset because if you miss 2 appointments they stop taking you . I said I am a mental health patient coming every 3 months it's easy to forget when its 3 months away . And I always got a call before so I just expected it I guess. Anywho just today dr . B my psychiatrist was completely unprofessional. I recently have been struggling extremely with depression bi polar schizophrenia anxiety and panic attacks . She wanted to put me on a new med . Once I read the reviews on it and what not I didnt feel comfortable with it . Shes tried me on so many meds since april and one gave me a seizure and one made me so mean and see red . So yes I am hesitant on what is going in my body . I suggested a med my mom is on because we are similar and it works for her. She slammed her mouse down and said okay your the doctor now what do you want to take and what dose . I proceeded to ask what dose does it start at she said your the doctor didnt your mom tell you. She was so unprofessional and pretty much gave up on me . I already feel like giving up on myself and now shes giving up . Also the med she wanted me to take was wayyyyyy to expensive but it isnt coming out of her pocket so why should she care. She did not care to listen to me . By far I have had the most horrible experiences there. And she sent me out of her office and I had a huge panic attack and she didnt even tell me what she sent to the pharmacy and what doses so now I am completely in the unknown . She told me I cant be helped . Wow what a mental health place .

For 10 weeks one more week up until the last second at which point he violated. No clear expectations or guidelines. Just a trap to get every dollar they can for you. Don't care if your sober only if you keep paying. My son is diabetic. Metformin is known to cause micro amounts of THC. Also having diabetes and fatty liver causes small amounts to linger in system for a very long time. When they were told about his medical condition and meds he was on, nothing changed. They can tell he isn't smoking by the small amount of THC staying. Could have use synthetic urine and would be fine. But if you try and trust in the system they will kill you dry and keep you there for as long as possible. Don't do the right thing. Use synthetic urine. After 3 months and passing urine test at other places new insights still says he has micro amounts. 2 months ago they agreed to discharge him and immediately changed their mind. His mother passed away before the treatment and the supervisor is holding a grudge for missing the initial appointment. Addicts can lie but not everyone is a liar. Patient is honest. Stay are liars. He was to call the following week and he did, but they never bothered to call him back. When someone reaches out for help you help them. You are, in fact, a rehab facility. Both interactions were enough for him to say this is not a good facility. It's hard enough to for someone to say they need help, then go to find help and not be called back. It is the facility's duty to walk their patients through the process. We will be looking elsewhere.
