The Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanów was such a great gem and ended up being one of my…read morefavorite stops outside the city center. The grounds alone are beautiful and peaceful, perfect for wandering and pretending you live in a palace for a moment, and the interiors were absolutely spectacular with so much detail and history packed into every room. It felt grand without being overwhelming, and I kept stopping just to take it all in. The trip out from central Warsaw was quick and easy, and once I arrived it felt completely worth the short ride. If you want a change of pace from the city and something that feels both elegant and relaxing, this is a must visit.

However there was plenty to see in the gardens around the palace. We walked around the entire outside of the palace and enjoyed all the views. There's a ton of flowers and bushes that really make the outside so nice. There's also a walkway that leads you to a lake on the backside of the palace. It was really relaxing near the lake. Several people on the water kayaking and people sitting on the edge of the water feeding the ducks or reading books.
