Also, some of the rite is in Arameic, which is believed to be the original language spoken by Jesus and his disciples, so that just makes the experience all the more mysterious, and in my case, enticing. I love a good mystery, or two, or three. You get a red book to follow along in the ritual. To the left you see the English translation of the rite, to the right the Syriac translation. This feels like Israel to the left and Ishmael to the right to me. Ok, the vestments used by the clergy are super cool. I've never had an experience worse then I had at this church. My daughter was baptized at this…read morechurch and needless to say I will never go back. The father is SO unnecessarily RUDE. The office is not organized at all and apparently doesn't know what they're doing. They lost our paperwork the first time I tried scheduling her baptism, and the second time I was given the wrong information. I scheduled the baptism for 12:30 and when we got there, the father was rude to everyone telling us we were late and that it should've started at 12. I called to confirm earlier in the week and was told again 12:30, never got a receipt or any kind of paperwork from the office so it seems like they just make stuff up as they go. They gave her certificate to somebody else so i had to find that after as well. The ceremony lasted maybe 5 minutes and the whole time the father was rushing and RUDE to everyone. My whole family noticed it, it was so embarrassing. He didn't bless anything for us because he told us he had things to do after the ceremony which was already a red flag, but then stayed after to clean the entire church and didn't seem in any kind of rush afterwards. Even while scheduling and asking questions with the father, his attitude was very ugly and did not make me or anyone else in my family feel welcomed. He barely even acknowledged my daughter and it was her ceremony. Everything about my experience was terrible. This was supposed to be a special sacred day and because of the father and his incompetent parish, I will remember it as a disappointment. I don't believe he deserves to be there, I feel he needs to be replaced. He is a disgrace to the Catholic Church. As somebody doing God's work, he sure is very hypocritical.
