This is mostly a gym for weight-lifters; there's a whole bunch of gear for them, but not much for other kinds of conditioning. Staff is inattentive. Hand towels for workouts are only available on request at the front desk, but the front desk is often unstaffed. I got yelled at one day for dripping sweat on the floor because I had not been able to get a hand towel at the desk. The locker room facilities are poorly maintained. First week of my membership, the locker rooms had no hot water -- only cold showers after your workout. Sinks in the men's locker room didn't drain, so if you shaved or washed, the water just sat there. This went on for more than a week as well. There are plenty of other gyms in town, including nice ones in the same neighborhood. Strongly recommend you look elsewhere. They're glad to take your money but don't care about your experience.

I think it's more for people who can walk here. Downsides: Geen (no) towel service. - Locker room is stuff, no air and damp...greatly lacking in amenities. One little, nasty sink where people fill their water. The place needs some air! - Minimal bike parking. - the lockers have locks, but you need a 2-euro coin to get this bulky, non sanitary key chain to hang around your wrist? Really? Upsides; Facility is big. Has a sauna, steam room (co-ed) and the staff is nice. Nice eGym (extra cost) Music is not too loud. It is conveniently located close to Leidseplein square, about 200 meters from the Apple store and several tram stops. For the serious body builders, they offer several racks of free weights, kettle balls and dumbbells. Always in very spacious buildings, lovingly appointed to look sensibly chic for a gym, visited by a wide mix of people. What I also like is that they renew their equipment and keep the existing equipment in great shape; this particular location seems to have just taken delivery of some new Kinesys cable equipment which is a lot of fun to use for strength training. This gym is situated on the south side of the WTC station, has always had friendly staff when I visited (it does help that I speak Dutch, I think), a quick entry procedure, and nice towel service. You will need €0.30 to pay for the electronic locker, but you do not need to bring a lock. The equipment area is big and ready, and the sauna (Mixed! It's considered normal, so learn not to stare at naked specimens of the opposite gender!) is warm. Enjoy.

Overall it is an okay gym for me. I go between 9 am and 12 pm. I have my own exercise routine, so I opted out from the premium plan that has a trainer session once every 6 weeks. There is a juice bar by the entrance; solarium; plenty of group classes. But there are few things that just makes me say "huh?" - one of them is showers. I have no idea why there are no shower doors? Also why the heck I can not control the water temperature? It runs too cold for me. I do feel miserable every time I take a shower.... :( I do like the core area, would like to see better yoga mats - current one looks like they have been through the war zone.
