Its not dirty though- in fact it's very clean and well-maintained, it's just old. It has everything you could possibly want in a library. Super nice, helpful staff, easy to navigate, huge children's area, 3 easy self-checkout areas, and 2 return areas. I do wish there was a drive thru return, though, for bad weather days or when the parking lot is at capacity. The parking lot is pretty small. I love using the JoCoLibrary app on my phone and requesting/holding books/audiobooks/DVDs, etc. Most items arrive shockingly quickly, and the app lets you know when they've arrived, how long they'll be held, etc. DVDs, even brand new releases, have at least a week for checkout time- so much nicer than going to Redbox and paying per day, or waiting for stuff to be added to Netflix.

This is my favorite library in Kansas City, KS. The staff is always super helpful. The children's…read morelibrary is decorated nicely and always very encouraging to helping kids read. They usually have some activity going on there that's interesting such as ACT testing. I always feel safe here. Recently they had a fine amnesty where they were waiving fees if you brought in things to donate for homeless teens. I think that's awesome. They have a good section of music and DVDs. I certainly appreciate the fact that you can put the books on hold and they'll have them pulled for you. They used to hold them behind the desk but they now have a spot by the self check out so you can do it yourself. They put the new books in a section up at the front so you can easily go through them. They also have a section for Young Adult readers that has a lot of good books. I love the fact that they separated them out from the kids. They have a few chairs to lounge in right by that area to encourage the kids to get lost in a book. I really appreciate it. They usually have a trivia question up at the front desk. I've never gotten it right lol but I love that they put it up there. It's a really solid spot. I appreciate it a lot.

I always have to put a hold on the book which is no problem but, they allow you two weeks to read the book and if some else requests a hold then you can't renew it and have to eat the fees until you finish the book. It's definitely a 3rd world problem that I will continue to deal with but a courtesy for 2-3 renewals should be standard.

This library is probably not quiet as comfortable as the Mid-Continent Libraries that are spread throught Missouri on the other side of the river. Imagine my shock at finding out this small town had a library! This is a very nice library, as well. It is very well stocked and, apparently, part of the Kansas City, Missouri library system. I am a Kansas resident so I could not get a library card but no matter. I enjoyed the atmosphere very much. They have a very wide selection at the Mid-Continent Public Library. They had a vast collection of materials. They also have inter-library loan programs through their system. A patron would not want for materials of all kinds at this library. They had all different types of media available for use or check out. This is a terrific resource. The tables and study desks were very comfortable and no one seemed bothered that I camped out here for a day. This was a nice, quiet place to study and reflect. Riverside is lucky to have this establishment. I did not interact much with staff on my visit but they seemed nice and pleasant. They also seemed happy which is always something I look for in employees. They helped a great number of people and were always busy. Parking and access were easy, too. There is a huge private lot in front of the library so no worries. This is also an easy access library. It's nice to be hassle free when visiting. Great library, large collections and comfortable areas.

The library is probably one of my favorite places on earth. They have public use computers and free wifi.
