I did contact them early and filing late February probably helped. I would definitely recommend contacting them if considering a CPA or Tax preparation service. Thanks!!

Mark spent approximately 30 minutes with me, explaining how various expenses should be recorded in Quickbooks. Afterward, he sent me home with a list of documents he would need to file my taxes. I provided Mark with what he needed via email and he did not respond. I sent several follow-up emails asking if he could move forward with helping with our taxes. Mark NEVER responded. Once I realized that Mark would not be helpful, I requested TWICE that he return my documents I provided in our first meeting and he still NEVER RESPONDED. I see that his website is still running so I assume he is still running a business. His lack of communication with me is pathetic. The overall process with him has been extremely simple and cost-effective. I highly recommend Jeff as a business accountant and as a personal income tax accountant.

I highly recommend against using SB Tax Pros. While Rod is a very nice guy, I do not believe he is…read morea good CPA. He may be a good CPA for maybe the basic of basic tax needs, but for anything slightly more complicated (stocks, crypto, backdoor roth IRA conversions, tax credits, etc) Firstly, when I sent him my tax documents, I also gave him specific instructions on what forms to fill out because my tax situation is a bit more complex than a typical tax payer. Not only did he not follow my instructions, he didn't even properly fill out the forms he was supposed to fill out. For anyone interesting, if you did a backdoor roth IRA, that requires an 8606 form which I told him he needed to fill out. Never happened. I also gave him other instructions as well such as using a previous years tax credit carryover. He never did that either. These mistakes resulted in him saying that I owed more than $13k to the IRS. I saved myself $13k by doing my owe taxes instead using TurboTax rather than paying Rod to do my taxes. Secondarily, before all of this, I recommended him to a coworker. With my coworker, Rod did not properly fill in the cost basis for capital gain/loss reporting even though my coworker has proof that he sent in both the 1099 and the supplemental stock forms (which has the adjusted cost basis). I ended up catching this mistake when I reviewed my coworkers taxes. Rod just used the cost basis of $0 rather than the actual cost basis. This resulting in over a $40k mistake in capital gain/loss reporting that my coworker never should have owed. So to summarize, do not go to SBTaxPros for anything complex, anything stock related, etc. It can cost you thousands of dollars, or even 10's of thousands of dollars.
