The restaurant has a modern organic aesthetic and an upscale get inviting feel. It overlooks the Laguna Madre, making it an ideal spot for a romantic date night. I had a reservation and was seated immediately. To start, they brought out fresh bread with three infused butters--miso, gochujang, and anchovy. Each were delicious, but the gochujang butter was the standout; It had great flavor and a hint of heat. I began with the pork belly lettuce wraps, which were phenomenal. The pork belly was perfectly seasoned, rich without being overly heavy, and the mango salsa added just the right amount of sweetness and acidity to balance every bite. For entrées, I ordered the Chilean sea bass and the red curry chicken. The sea bass was tender, well-seasoned, and served alongside asparagus and pilaf rice. The red curry chicken was an unexpected interpretation of the classic curry dish--it featured a crispy fried chicken breast smothered in a rich red curry sauce, accompanied by pilaf rice and veggies. It was moist, flavorful without the spiciness of the classic--it was a good spin on a traditional Indian that worked. Overall, I'd rate Henrietta's 4.5/5 stars. The food was excellent, the portions were satisfying, and the ambiance made for a wonderful evening. The only thing keeping it from a perfect score was that it never quite delivered that extra touch that transforms a great meal into an unforgettable dining experience. Still, it's absolutely worth a visit if you're looking for an elevated dinner in South Padre.

It was busy but not packed; I'd suggest getting reservations if you're coming on a weekend or a busier day. The food itself was a little mediocre. I don't think anyone at the table finished or really liked all of their food -- a couple of people didn't even want to take their to-go boxes. That said, the compound butter appetizer with the bread they give you is some of the best compound butter I've ever had in my life. The drink selection is good too, so maybe just come in for a drink and the compound butter -- that alone is worth it. In general I can't give it a great rating, because no one really liked their food. And while the service was friendly, it wasn't fast, and we had a few plates sent back because they came out wrong. Would not recommend, and would not return.

Delightful. A Friday…read morenight dinner in South Padre Island led me to LongBoard Bar & Grill, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. I walked in around 7:00pm and was seated right away. I started with the mozzarella sticks. They were exactly what you'd expect--nothing particularly memorable, but they satisfied the craving. For my entrée, I ordered the deep-fried seafood basket with all three options: shrimp, oysters, and fish. Everything was perfectly seasoned and fried to a crisp without being overly greasy. It came with cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, and a small serving of coleslaw that balanced the heaviness of the fried foods nicely. The jumbo shrimp were sweet, plump, and succulent, while the oysters and fish were also delicious--exactly what my soul ordered. What truly elevated the evening was the atmosphere. Live music and a spectacular fireworks show over the water. The singer's rendition of the national anthem was absolutely beautiful and gave me goosebumps. Between the food, gorgeous ocean views, live entertainment, and fireworks, this was a memorable dinner and a great way to spend a Friday night on South Padre Island.

Service was very slow, I completely understand that it was busy but maybe the restaurant should have planned better for staffing. The waitress was very respectful and apologetic for the food taking so long (over hour and half). She apologized about 4 times over the span of the time, but nothing was offered or done about the extremely long wait for the food. Our food was not great whatsoever, it taste like everything was frozen previously and thawed incorrectly. The sampler came out cold, the fried basket was basket flavoring, the tacos were eatable, and the mahi mahi fish was okay. Honestly DO NOT come here for food, However Come HERE for dancing/environment.

Despite paying 80% when booking, which is what it asked for, they called as we were driving there, to tell us that we hadn't checked in and they need the rest of the money, and wanted us to give them our credit card over the phone - keep in mind that it was 11am, and before we could possibly check in. Beyond that, giving a credit card number over the phone is a great way to have a bad day, which was validated later. We ended up getting there, and it is a DUMP. I mean rotten wood, mold, peeled paint, nasty smells. Dirty common areas that were filthy the whole time we were there. The room had stuff all over the floors that hadn't been cleaned from the prior guests. When you are there, don't plan to sleep. They have nightly live music that is incredibly loud, and there is no part of the property that you can't hear it. People are drunk and yelling and screaming till 2-3am every night. No amount of ear plugs can enable sleep. Any questions of staff are met with disdain. The food is disgusting and I literally threw up from it the last night we were there. Drinks are the worst I've ever had. Didn't even bother to blend the Mudslide that I ordered. Keep in mind, that I like Waffle House, so for me to call this place terrible, it's legitimately terrible. Oh, and the TV stored my AppleTV login info, even though I fully logged out, and I find out yesterday that someone has rented $180 of movies this week that I am now having to fight.

Watch the game, see live music, catch the fireworks; you can quite literally do that all here, plus watch the sunset too as the name implies. Parking is pretty abundant outfront and the place is very clean with a nice, open layout. The outdoor patio is dog friendly which is a plus since we never forget our furry friend. Onto the food, we ordered corn dogs with a side of french fries and their Hawaiian BBQ chicken wrap. Their corn dogs were solid as were the fries. It came out extremely hot which made it a bit difficult to eat but you can never really complain about a hot meal at the end of the day. As for the Hawaiian BBQ chicken wrap, it was absolutely fantastic. We were actually a bit blown away by how good it was since our food experience in SPI to that point was not very good, but this was downright great from the chicken to the tortilla and everything in between. On the drinks side, we ordered three: a piña colada, mango daiquiri, and banana foster's colada. All of the drinks were okay, nothing too special to note other than the fact that they didn't really feel like they had that much alcohol in them. To some that can be a good thing, but on these they just felt like they were a light pour more than so sweet you can't taste it. Other than that, our experience here at Tequila Sunset was great. Drinks were decent, food was great, and what a view. We will definitely be back whenever we're in the area.

The restaurant is very dark in places, but each table has lamps which made the vibe very cozy. Our server gave recommendations, and we ended up with the cheese ravioli appetizer, which was absolutely delicious!!! 3 generously sized fried ravioli, filled with cheese and spinach, which resembled a nice spinach artichoke dip. We were also given a loaf of ciabatta bread with garlic olive oil to dip in. The bread had a nice crust and was very soft on the inside. My wife had the Scallop toscana pasta, which had 5 perfectly cooked scallops with a fresh pesto sauce with spaghetti pasta. Her pasta was delicious, with a very fresh herb tasting pesto, and the pasta was perfectly cooked. I honestly enjoyed her dish more than I did mine! I had the house signature, Spaghetti and meatballs. It was a tomato sauce spaghetti with 2 almost baseball sized meatballs. The meatballs were moist and very hearty, and tasted amazing. The sauce on my spaghetti tasted very fresh. It was good and had great flavor, however I feel that it was slightly bland for my taste(to be fair I enjoy things on the saltier side). My only real dislike about the spaghetti is that the sauce seemed to be very watery, and did not cling to the pasta very well. I'd like a thicker sauce, but other than that I really enjoyed it. For dessert, I ordered a crème brûlée, which was absolutely delicious. The custard wasn't too sweet but had great flavor otherwise, and it had a thick, crunchy sugar topping. The dark spot on the topping may have been burnt just a bit, it wasn't bad, but I did not enjoy that as much as the rest. Overall very tasty. My wife ordered the Italian cheesecake, which looked absolutely stunning. A very large slice of a ricotta based cheesecake with a blackberry topping. It was smooth, rich, and absolutely delicious. Only issue with the cheesecake is that we couldn't finish it! Overall I would highly recommend The Meatball Cafe, and my wife and I may be returning for dinner tonight with my buddy and his fiancé. This place will be on my list for every SPI trip!!!! (Forgot to get a pic of the ravioli)

My friends and I have been coming to Quarterdeck for the 4th of July for multiple years in a row,…read moreand we've always had an amazing time. It's become one of our favorite holiday traditions, which is why this year was such a disappointment. We were excited to see DJX and Live Wire, expecting a fun, high-energy show, but unfortunately that wasn't our experience. For one of the biggest holidays of the year, there was very little interaction with the crowd that actually added to the entertainment. Instead of focusing on performing, the female singer repeatedly left the stage and spent long periods walking through the audience. At one point, she was asking people for tips over a discussion about Tupac vs. Biggie--something that had nothing to do with the beach, the 4th of July, or creating a fun atmosphere for the crowd. A man who appeared to be with her, but was not part of the band, followed her around asking people the same questions. The interactions throughout the night felt more personal than professional. Members of our group felt uncomfortable because some of the conversations and attention directed toward our male friends came across as flirtatious rather than focused on entertaining the audience. Whether that was the intent or not, it created an awkward atmosphere that took away from the experience. The male singer did a great job and kept the music going, but unfortunately the female singer's performance felt disengaged and not genuine. We came to celebrate the 4th of July with a band that would bring energy, interact with the crowd, and make the night memorable. Instead, it felt like the focus was everywhere except on putting on a great show. We've never left Quarterdeck disappointed before, but this year was different. We sincerely hope this was just an off night because we've always loved spending the 4th of July here, but this year's entertainment was a huge letdown.
