Just last month, we closed a 1938 old house that requires some love and attention to modernize it. We found Baron through Houzz, and soon their project manager, Shaul Kofler, reached out to us for our first consultation. Throughout our discussion, Shaul gave us multiple options and three different proposals that fit our budget and vision. He knows a great deal about the difficulties in the whole house remodeling and ways to expedite the process. What's also worth mentioning is that his proposal is the clearest among all the bidders. Although we decided to go with a different route, it's very pity for us not to have the chance to work with Shaul and his team. I can't say enough good words about his persistence. BUYER BEWARE - If you have a major remodel to do, I'd look elsewhere. These guys talk a great talk, but we worked on a large project with them (3-4 months) and it was a total nightmare. First of all, the number one priority for us was to find a vendor that could build us a loft due to our high ceilings. During the consultation, Koby and Talor swore up and down that it would be a piece of cake. Two weeks later, they call letting us know that it's not really possible. To start off a relationship by lying/not doing your research isn't great. After we moved past that to a different design, they let us know that the floor sanding that we had in the contract wasn't really possible either. We were getting used to them not following through on their word, so we hired a different company to do our floors. They made promises around timelines of work being completed, materials being delivered, all of which were complete crap. We started working with them in February, aiming for a May move in, and they promised the timeline would work and at worst, they'd have small details to finish up while we were moving in. To this day, August 23, the work STILL isn't finished, and they have stopped responding to emails, calls and texts. The design for our closet was never completed, so we have boxes of shelves sitting around, hoping we can find a handyman to finish it. Most of their installations were not done well. We have light fixtures falling out of the wall and cabinet hinges coming apart just a few weeks after we moved in. We also asked them to take a look at the electrical work done on our hot tub - their version of taking a look at it was to completely cut the wires, which they denied doing over and over until we threatened to take the issue to court - then the owner called us to apologize. They told us they would take photos of daily progress every day and upload them to their app, which literally never happened once, and they said they'd do a final walk through to make sure we were satisfied with the work that was done, which never happened. Baron sent us a form to sign to signify that the work was completed, when it hasn't been, and there are many installations that were done poorly. If you want a mediocre job done, go elsewhere and save yourself a grand or two. If you want a stellar job done with a company that values customer service, take Baron off your list immediately. We made the mistake of trusting all of the positive reviews when we decided to go with them, but this is a 100% authentic review. Do NOT pay these guys top dollar, because they do not do top work and will ghost you when they feel they've done a sufficient job by their standards. read more

I'm not a "point the finger" kinda person, but there's some finger pointing in this story. Ultimately, I'm not sure if its the unorganized company, an unethical company culture, or a single rouge sales dude that just is trying to fake it till he makes it. But this Koby guy, has caused more gray hairs for my husband and I. We were simply looking to add an extra bedroom on the back of our house before we adopt a baby. Currently we have a 2 bed 2 bath, with plenty of space on our lot to add an extra 10x10 room. easy enough. But not for Koby. After writing the first check, costs suddenly jumped by almost 1/3!!! But the reasons seemed to make sense- asbestos, an additional permit because of the electric wires, materials (I called BS on materials- he should know his stuff when he's quoting up front). BUt we proceeded. Work starts, they demo a wall, then the project stalls. A FULL WEEK with nothing happening. No workers on site. Crazy. Everytime I call Koby he says "theyll be there tomorrow." After a week of stalling, some works starts happening, then another change order! Apparently we went over our finished material budget, and he didnt give us any warning! Anyway, we went through the cycle of no work happening, new change order, then delays due to permits for about 6 months. Project is finally done, and pretty half-assed. Took way longer than we were quoted, and way above budget. Koby said what he had to to win our business, then let us down every step of the way. read more

Let me start by saying I live in a small 800 square-foot condo that is worth approximately $300,000. I contacted this company because our condo needs a facelift. We would like new floors throughout the condo painting throughout the condo and an upgrade to our kitchen. We were hoping to do cabinet refacing to give the kitchen a better appearance and adding some backsplash. Two gentlemen came out to our condo for an estimate and they seem to be very nice. They took their time to walk the condo and ask what type of upgrades we wanted and they took their time to calculate their pricing. They explain different ways to get a quote where we could have an allowance budget for materials or where we could purchase our own materials and they just do the labor. They explained how their company is licensed and has excellent yelp reviews. They also told me they are very affordable and that they aren't the cheapest but they are not the most expensive. They asked if our decision will be made solely on price and I told them that would not be the case because we really want to like the people that we work with. The previous person was in our home for an estimate and we did not like that person at all even though their price was very competitive and truly affordable. They also mentioned that they are paid whether or not they get our service so they are happy if we sign with him but there's no money out of their pocket if you don't. After nearly 2 hours they were ready to give us a quote. They started by telling us the materials fee would be approximately $6300. This fee seem very reasonable. Then they told us the additional fee would be $86,000. I almost passed out. I think watching flip or flop on HGTV has misguided my thinking regarding pricing. I've seen Tarek renovate a $850,000 house for $80,000. This show prices a full kitchen remodel from $8,000-$20,000. I can also say, they weren't doing a simple cabinet refacing, they installed brand new everything! I'm also noticing that companies call themselves affordable if they offer a financing option for you. Affordability has nothing to do with financing. We quickly told the two men we could not afford their prices. This is when they started to get a little pushy they suggested we start with one project. So we inquired about the cost of just redoing the floors. They quoted us approximately $14,000 to redo the floors. At this point we had several different estimates for our flooring and none of which came close to $14,000, most were under $7000 and Home Depot was $5,000. We told them we would need to think about it and then they began to lower the price. One guy said if we could commit today they could do it for $12,000. Then his partner reiterated that if we committed today they could do it for $12,000-$13,000. Again we told him we would need to think about it. They were hesitating on leaving even after we told them we could not afford their services. I can't attest to their workmanship but their prices seem anything but affordable. read more

Stop do not use this company After they received $3900 in check to start the project they showed up the day of the project and said the bathroom remodel will cost $16,000 Not the quote of $9000 Without doing anything they now say oh you have mold so it's going to cost &16,000. So now they refuse to take back the vanity and tiles they say oh no now they're mine I bought them but they won't refund any money. read more

My experience was similar to that of Krystal M. Complete with insincere apologies and "misunderstandings." "Over 55+ years of combined experience" means nothing without quantification. Be curious why they have so few reviews. They likely do meet the minimal "industry standard" but don't expect better than that, regardless of being more expensive. And yes, it could have been worse! I am satisfied with the layout and functionally of the kitchen. Ultimately the owner called me to "put an end to this...today." He offered to terminate our contract "and each go our separate ways." I agreed to terminate the contract as I wanted them out of my house as much as they wanted out of having to fix their damages and mistakes. read more

This company sucks. They brag about their Yelp review score, but that's because they try to bribe anyone who gives them a bad review to delete it. Well, guess what? I can't be bribed. And I won't be threatened. We hired this company to renovate our apartment that we just bought. This company got our bid out of several other companies we were interviewing because they promised us they could build us a loft. That was the sole reason they got our bid and we told them that. We asked them several times, "are you sure you're going to be able to build us a loft...and at that price??" It was almost too good to be true. Granted, we were still paying them around $80,000 for all the renovations, but still, we thought it was a good deal. After they already started construction, they told us it would be "impossible" to build the loft. Yet, countless other units in our building with the EXACT same floor plan as our unit have lofts. We showed them the other units as proof. But, nope. They didn't want to hear it. No loft. As if that wasn't bad enough, they then literally cut our electrical line to our hot tub. Then, when we told them the hot tub wasn't working, they offered to fix it for FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS. I told them I would get a second opinion first. I hired an electrician from Task Rabbit (the app) to take a look. He was absolutely shocked. He told us someone went in and just straight-up cut our power line with scissors. He asked if anyone had been working on our unit that would do such a thing. Of course, I knew exactly who did it. When I called up Baron I was livid, and they completely denied everything. After I showed them proof and demanded to speak with their higher-ups, and then eventually threatened to SUE them, they finally fessed up and admitted they cut the line (pictured here). Even after all that, however, they would not fix it for free. Let me repeat that: they intentionally cut our power line to our hot tub, for no reason--they weren't even working on that part of our apartment--and then after we complained that the hot tub wasn't working, they offered to fix the problem for $5,000. Yet, all that needed to be done was to connect the line that they cut in half. It took our electrician from Task Rabbit 2 minutes to fix. And Baron wanted $5,000. These people are crooks. They're dishonest. They're con-artists. And they literally stole away the dream we envisioned for our apartment when we bought it. On top of that, they took around $80,000 from us to do it, which only adds insult to injury. Talor and Kobe cannot be trusted. Don't listen to them when they show you their "Yelp Award" or whatever other B.S. they use to pitch their shoddy services. They were also WAY behind schedule and didn't finish the job until several months after they told us they would. Hire anyone else but these people. read more

This was my first remodelling experience and I naturally had lots of questions to which Koby patiently explained. My mom used Baron to remodel one of her bathrooms. The end result was really great. The bathroom was transformed into something she was really happy with. Koby was very kind, accommodating, and easy to work with. There were some mishaps toward the end. There were delays and missed appts. Sometimes the wrong fixtures were ordered. We also had to be the ones to follow up on those missed appts or when a part wasn't ordered. The office doesn't seem to be the most organized. But again, Koby was very nice and tried to make up for any mishaps. I suppose there's always a few issues with any remodel. I could not be more please with the professionalism they have shown me. They also took the time to listen to what I wanted and not bombard me with all these extra things I don't need. The 2 bathrooms at my house needed some remodeling. The sight of the floor, the sink, and the tub looked so awful. They did an amazing job in transforming it!!!! So I called baron construction to get a quote on TEX coating the entire house. ( the reason we wanted TEX coating was because we've had two gentleman that came prior and highly recommended this product - that by the way was almost double the price from regular exterior paint job ) Mike came in and surprisingly enough said that we don't even need to redo the entire house !!! He thought the house was painted only a few years before we bought it. He was proposing to do some minor stucco repairs and paint. and instead... Design some new stucco frames around our windows. We chose to go with Baron Construction because we were impressed with how prepared and knowledgeable they were in the initial meeting. Large remodeling projects can be overwhelming for many reasons, and our project was no exception. In addition to a full-scale kitchen remodel that included knocking down a couple walls, we added on an electrical upgrade plus a master bathroom remodel that extended the project a few more months. Although the remodel took much longer than anticipated (4 months), that seems to be normal for any construction project. This was due to a few delays in ordering parts which resulted in postponed work days. In the end, the kitchen and master bathroom turned out absolutely gorgeous and the design was exactly what we were envisioning.
