Stopped at B&N to check out the A24 selection. It turned out to be a bit underwhelming but was kind of just guessing it was picked over due to it being the Monday after BF when we went. The store had a lot going on as far as the sale section and just merchandise everywhere as it's holiday season. I generally like browsing around just because. Store was pretty organized. We were approached by customers looking for staff assistance but seemed like they were a bit short staffed as we didn't see any besides at the checkout despite the store being somewhat busy. read more

This location has a Starbucks inside with plenty of seating. I visited on a Friday and it was pretty busy. I was still able to find a place to sit and use my laptop for work. I enjoyed the time there, grabbed a Starbucks drink and put my headphones on. The MOA WiFi isn't that great inside the location but B&N has their own, so that's nice. Starbucks doesn't have WiFi available here. The selection of books is large. You can spend hours here looking through their selection and items that are gift worthy. read more

I've never been a book person myself and I just walked into this store at the Mall of America with my family, just by chance. First thing that surprised me, is the books market really going down as some people tell it is, after the advent of digital and social media? There was so much buzz of people in every direction I looked at. Every section of this books shop was stacked with so many different books. There were even different sections of toys and movie titles. The Starbucks was busy serving people at one end of the store. The kids section was spilling out with kids and their parents. Loved the sight of some of the parents reading out for their kids in the rest places. My uncle got me a book on Good to Great by Jim Collins picked from the Top Business Books and I felt I must take this book with me as a memorabilia from this beautiful store. It took me a good five minutes to stand on the line and checkout the book. The staff was kind and she patiently recommended the Barnes and Noble membership and explained its benefits. I just thought I could take it some other day and politely declined it. Nevertheless, this shop was just fantastic! read more

I like the magazine and sale sections! I can also find new releases right away. I love that they have a different programs for kids. read more

This location is an old faithful. I believe they could double the size of this location and it still would be as busy as it always is. Every single time I come to this location, it's packed. I love it for B&N because that means it's here to stay, the product never disappoints. I hope they view this as a marquee location because the only time I've witnessed it being quiet in this location is around the time it opens. You can find what you need and a seat at this location. There are bigger locations but not as busy as this one. Rightfully so. this location is solid and usually has what you need. They've dedicated good portions of the store to their sections so if it weren't busy, you'd have space to spread out. This location is central for just about everybody so I get why it's busy. Staff do what they can to help everyone that asks. I haven't had a bad experience here. Just because it's busy doesn't mean you should stay away, you should come and see why people love coming to this location. I'm coming back. read more

This barnes and noble is ridiculous! They do not carry a wide selection, and their customer service reps do not know famous, influential writers. Tom Robbins? (The clerk actually told me, there was no su h author in their system, which if that is correct, is disheartening). Nope! Charles bukowski? Nope! Irvine welsh? Nope! Not even anias nin or Henry Rollins. I felt embarrassed going there. They carry nothing but "what's in demand now" I used to work at barnes and noble, and we needed to know authors. I expected much more from a Minneapolis store. Minneapolis used to be well versed. What happened? I guess "vegas" is more literate than MPLS? And that is just frightening. Hire employees that know literature, and actually sell books, other than cheap "remainders" and what's currently a best seller. read more

B & N is a welcomed respite from the MOA event area. With thousands (yes, at least), of teen girls lined up outside the store in the event area for a pop culture non-icon with constant screaming. It wasn't that long ago there was a bookstore in every area of the cities. This particular store has the usual large selection of books and magazines and gift items. The non-book items are overpriced and books certainly aren't that cheap. It's been awhile since I bought a magazine but after quickly browsing the huge selection I actually found three so that I could explore some uncharted genres. There are reading benches that may work to the store's disadvantage because there always people that do their reading on the bench and place the now wrinkled magazine back in the rack. This is why I've always reached toward the back of the rack to select reading material. Check out is a little on the slow side because like all stores now they are trying to sign people up for their rewards club. read more

Only ever "window shop" at Barnes and Noble, when we get a coffee from the Barnes and Noble Café. When compared price wise to Amazon, B&N seems fairly pricey. The staff are always happy and eager to help, with finding items or recommendations which certainly is appreciated. A few manga pieces have been purchased here by my Wife and I and we are always satisfied by our purchases. If I shop here more often, I'm sure I would be more willing and able to increase the star rating I have given. read more

A very polite woman helped us in the order we were standing at the information desk and acknowledged the people who were waiting. She walked over to the book shelf and put the book we asked for in my hand. What more can you ask for for customer service? Also at checkout when I was buying a book, the gentleman suggested another book I might like in a more "reader to reader" way versus a "I'm trying to sell you more books" way. I will still buy most of my books used because I think they're too expensive, but I do try to get into this store when I'm forced to go to Mall of America because it's such a nice oasis from the craziness of the big mall. read more

I can kill a lot of time in a bookstore. Lately though, I find Barnes and Nobel visits to be stressful, and I get a "get your book and get the hell out" vibe from all of them, despite was is obviously efforts to increase dwell time (and thus, purchases, I would assume). They are are hard to do with kids. While I love that my kids want me to buy them books the constant flood of various merchandise (toys, games, books, stuffed animals...) results in a flood of "can I get this"? And I think that is what they want, put golly, I don't care for it. This location is cool that it has a train table in the kids section, which the three-year-old loves. read more

This is for the Starbucks only. First they do NOT take Starbucks rewards cards so my preloaded card did not work. Second, I ordered a spinach and feta pretzel. After 20 minutes I finally went back to the register and asked where it was. They said they had burned one and did not know to whom it went. They never called out a name or anything, just ignored the fact that a customer paid for something they were not getting. Third, they made me a new pretzel only it was a pizza one and not what I ordered. I am now in 30 minutes and still waiting for my pretzel. Sorry Starbucks but this has been a really bad experience. read more

Often the site of book signings, this location was the famed spot where someone hurled a tomato or two at Sarah Palin during her visit. A nice respite from the crazy hubaloo of the Mall of America. With your Barnes & Noble rewards card, you can get 10% off all purchases, and this includes the Starbucks inside the store (Can be a good savings if you're a member since there is a Starbucks across the rotunda). read more

If you are brave enough to hit the Mall of America just for a book, Barnes & Noble is the right stop. It is a mini sanctuary in the madness that lurks out the doors. I love bookshops and I love Barnes and Nobles in particular. This Barnes was no exception. There is a variety of books and a good about of books in each category. I have to say that this Barnes is a little smaller than some I've been to, and I did find myself wishing for a little more in this one (particularly in the arts section and cookbooks) but I was still able to find multiple books I wanted to buy in nice editions. Many books had discounts too, so I was able to get a few books for under $8 each. Overall good experience. I would come back, and I can definitely see myself spending many hours in this store. read more

i do not like the management. i overheard them disrespecting the cleaning staff. they expect them to detail clean in 30 minutes. and also, there was dry poop in the women's bathroom and they didn't contact cleaning services. terrible management read more

I currently work in the Mall of America, and this has quickly became my favorite place to stop by before or after my shifts. They seem to have a very wide selection of books, as well as vinyls! Staff seems friendly enough, they've never bothered me when I've came down and just sat to read a book I picked up. I enjoy the atmosphere there, a nice place to shop for all ages. read more
