What I enjoy most about charity shops is how you can tell the sort of area you're in by the stock.
This Barnardo's in Leith is well stocked, with an abundance of clothes and bric a brac. Nothing is really designer, I found a few different tops from Topshop, New Look and Marks and Spencers, but that was about it.
The book selection was poor in here but I suppose they can only stock what they're given. I saw a lot of Mills and Boon type romance novels so if you like that sort of thing, you're in luck.
The staff that were working were nice and helpful, and I have a lot of respect for those that volunteer to work in these shops. Even if you don't want to buy anything, just pop in and stick a quid in the charity tin, the cause is so, so worth it. read more
