This is high quality food for low prices 10/10 definitely recommend for date night/ lunch. The service was good and the rolls are A1.

Hole in the wall with super cheap Italian food. The food is okay but some of the vegetable sides look like they came directly out of a freezer bag from the supermarket. The bread is good with their pink sauce (marinara and alfredo) and if you want tiramisu, you have to get there before Wednesday or it's gone. The absolute BEST Italian I've had. Very small, cozy, mom-and-pop restaurant. Everything is fresh and has that homemade taste and feel to it. The servers are nice-- and it is BYOB which I like because I usually stop by the liquor store on my way over to the restaurant, grab a nice bottle of wine and enjoy a great meal with it. The prices are extremely cheap too. Sometimes it can get pretty crowded but ive never really had to wait to get seated. May I suggest the chicken Alfredo?! It's delish!!!! read more

The pasta here was cooked thoroughly and did not have a trash bag aftertaste. If you like your pasta crispy and laced with plastic, this is not the restaurant for you. Their strict adherence to ServSafe policy as well as their A+ from the Department of Health really hinder their ability to provide adequate dry trash pasta. Mama Baris has really made something wonderful here. The food is fresh and classic, and the price is very low--- you can get an excellent meal for less than ten bucks and more than enough to take home with you for leftovers. Huge fresh garlic rolls. Full disclosure, I got what I'm sure was a very mild case of food poisoning here once (I think from an undercooked meatball) but I had no problem going back, as I was sure it was a fluke, and the food is delicious. I never had another problem here. The portions are great, it's dirt cheap, and the BYOB can save you a lot. Baris is a Waco Classic. Always fresh and yummy. The white pizza is great, as is the spaghetti with pink sauce. My hubby loves the chicken aristocrat which is also served with the pink sauce. Their salads with house dressing (a tomatoey vinegarette) are always great, as are the daily specials. It's also byob which is cool. read more

As a budding foodie I have eaten at many Italian restaurants. Most have taken the position that they have to create Italian with at "twist". Sometimes though I don't want a "twist" I just want some good comfort Italian food like mom made. If you share this feeling then head to Baris for a solid basic Italian meal. The location is off Valley View Dr in Waco TX so you will have to drive past the million chain restaurant to find this small non-descriptive building. WARNING: the parking is very limited and the lot on the right side of the building butts up to a ravine with no...yes no guard rail! The parking is my only complaint. I enjoy getting the lasagna which is served in a boat plate with tons of cheese...not fancy cheese that I can't pronounce, just mozzarella. Dinner rolls come with the pasta which are good but I prefer to pay the couple of bucks for the hot baked french bread. There is no wine or alcohol at Baris but you can BYOB! and the down home family style atmosphere is a nice change from all the "inspired" restaurants that are out there. The service was okay but the place is disgusting. We ordered lasagna that was watery and looked like it was frozen and put under a burner. The kitchen looked filthy and the workers looked miserable. After we received the check the waitress stood and waited for us to get up so she could clear our table. We also saw her put a straw back in her pocket while cleaning off a customers table. My best friend and I were up in Waco from Houston for the Tri Waco Olympic distance triathlon over the weekend. My friend found this place the night before the triathlon so we decided to go check it out. Perfect little hole-in-the-wall place. You walk in the front door and the place reeks with the Fantastic smells of what you would imagine and authentic Italian Kitchen what smell like! The bread rolls are served on paper plates. The roles are nice and tasty. My friend and I both had the Dee's Special. I was expecting a small portion the food but when it came out, it was a nice large portion. The baked pasta was extremely delicious and full of flavor. The meat had a very seasoned flavor and the sauce was terrific. I had an iced tea. The cup was so big that they should give you a discount on your meal if you're lucky enough to finish the drink in one setting. The service was okay. Not bad but not over-the-top. Next time we're in Waco for the Waco half Ironman Triathlon, this is definitely the place we're going to carb up the night before. read more

This place was amazing! The waitress Patty makes you feel right at home. We found it here on yelp and we are so glad we gave it a try! Possibly one of our favorite meals throughout this trip! Be prepared, HUGE portions, full of flavor and at such good price ! We had dinner twice as we took our leftovers to the hotel! The roll is amazing and the calamari was such a huge yummy portion. I've been here countless times in the last several years and am never disappointed. Friendly staff, good prices, and an insane amount of menu items. Make sure you ask for the rolls to go along with your meal, they are something to behold! They also serve your soda in a nice big glass which is great for a Dr. Pepper addict like myself.
