This review has been a long time coming. I have been a regular at Bargain Box from when they were located at the old CD Jungle and then moved to the mall. I have brought friends from out of state here to rummage through their stuff. My past three visits had the most horrific service of any retail establishment. In my visits, I have brought piles of records to the counter only to be told "those aren't priced for sale." Yet, they are on the sales floor. I've been told, "I can't sell you these comics because no one is here to price them." Yet, again, they are on the sales floor. Then, on another visit, I brought a pile of comics out of the discount bin (when they had two storefronts in the mall) to the counter and was told "Where are these from? These books are too expensive to be in the discount bin." Thanks for the alienation guys. I've only been coming here for 10+ years. New storefront? Hopefully a commitment to higher levels of customer service. Too bad I won't stop in to find out.They have had 10 + years to get it right and have screwed it up royally. read more

This store is one of a kind, with lots of rare items that you can not find at any other stores, like Walmart or target or others stores, they have a big selection of Pokémon cards, and many more playing cards, gaming consoles, vintages consoles and controls, and hundreds of DVD movies to many to mention you need like 2 or 3 hours to really look for your favorite movies, and the staff really knowledgeable, if you can't find what you are looking for they will let you know right away, and then help you find it, really happy staff good atmosphere, love this store and my son he is 8 years old when I mention BARGAIN BOX he lights up with joy and excitement really happy I give it 5 stars for a local store, read more

Average store. There are better places to go that has items like this. However, this is the place to go for anime (if you're into that type of thing) Or anything "Nerd-Core" related. My significant other and I were looking for some old video games. We stopped by Bargain Box yesterday and had a strange experience. The open sign was lit up, but nobody was there. It didn't look like a store as there were boxes everywhere and was without an entrance. We walked into the side door and there was a bare hallway with cement stairs that led to, possibly, an apartment?? Needless to say, we got in our car and left. Today we found a place in Newark, OH called Maxine's Bargain Box and it was worth the drive. Great place! The staff was so friendly and the prices were excellent. The owner even added extra discounts at the checkout. We left with as many games and DVDs as we could carry in our arms. I recommend going there instead of this location. What a shame this Zanesville location was closed. There were 2 other cars that pulled up and tried to go in. The business would be there if the staff would be there. read more

Name says bargain box, but a look at the prices says otherwise. Understaffed, unorganized, and not very clean. There is another store at the same mall that provides a much cleaner, friendlier, environment, with a more knowledgeable staff. Witnessed a customer who brought in items for sale. Over 30 movies and games in this stack, and the offer was $10 store credit? There were very few items under $10 in the entire store! This location does have hard to find collectable items, but most are in fair to poor condition. The offer of 30 day guarantee on electronics is one good service provided, beyond that, this store is not as good as its competitors. read more

this place is a total joke when you bring something to sell to the owner and wait there for 3 hours wasting time then when he says ok il buy your stuff and says wait here ill get you a check wait 2 more hours asking if i can just have my stuff and leave i dont want to waste more time , he then proceeds to call the cops tell them i stole the items and makes a huge scene calling me a thief in front of many ppl no wonder they went out or wont open they pry screwed to many ppl over, so yes i left wasting 5 hours a 2 hour drive and only thing i got was a huge scam and almost had my stuff stolen good thing the mall had video cameras showing me bring it in stay far away from this place read more
