They are upfront but not pushy about going upstairs for private dances and they are generally very friendly and respectful about the rate and how much they are supposed to be paid. Not good at all for new comers BEWARE CLICKY ENVIRONMENT, toxic.. i had a horrible experience my first day back. With all the jacked up security guards looking down on us you would think my purse would be secure next to me, in the stairs as I do my stage. I was in for a helluva ride first of all I got very VERY angry that only my purse was weirdly stolen that evening, but also the help from the bouncers and dare I say security team was far from helpfull. Yes, a little rattled that 450$ and a cell phone had vanished under their noses, but far from justifying being man handled and screamed at by the other women??? like ok.. very hostile, I had to leave as they were calling the cops. Best believe I'm throwing hands at whomever is trying to man handle me and shuffle me out the club without any resolving of whom or where my belongings were. I came here because I heard about their AMAZING Caesar salad from a friend. No lie, some really good Caesar salad! The bacon tasted fresh and the lettuce I could tell was not old. The croutons were *a little stale* but I guess that is to be expected -NOT everyone knows about the amazing salad. This place is alright The strippers are dope but the stage is a little small compared to some of the other establishments I've been to. I think it was anyway, I don't remember exactly. Also, lapdances are $20 bucks a song (unless I was just getting fleeced because I was tanked) which is kinda pricey and adds up way too fast. Next thing you know you're out like $100 bucks. I suppose Barefax is your standard strip club, though we found the whole club's lighting to be a bit brighter than others. The dancers are generally aesthetically pleasing and rhythmically inclined. The music can range from hip-hop to rock, depending on the dancer. They also have a room for private dances. I came here with a group of 6 for a friend's birthday, and most of us sat in the front row, right in front of the stage. We came at night on a weekend in March and walked up the stairs to show our IDs, check our coats, and enter the club. The club has a "one drink" policy, where every one must buy a drink, but it doesn't need to be alcoholic. We didn't stay long, but we had a lot of fun and it was a great night. I randomly stumbled in here with my friend after a night of drinking. It was a mistake, but the good kind. The strippers will make you fall in love and take all of your money. I went on a monday night and it was pretty vacant. The girls were beautiful and young. Some where really sweet and would just sit at the table and talk even if they knew I didn't want a dance. Maybe it was just really slow that night... It was fine until this bossy stripper called me gay because I kept rebuffing her offers for a lap dance. That was just shitty. Barefaaaxxx where to begin. Up a set of florescent lit steep ass stairs that smell like cigarettes and cleaning products. You may or may not encounter a fight developing on its way out while you're on your way up. When you reach the second flight after the landing you'll be greeted by a brusque bouncer demanding your ID. Once you clear that you'll be welcomed into the club by the no nonsense, but total sweetheart coat check girl, and she'll need to check you coat for $4 (and go ahead and leave her that extra loony in change). Once you're inside you'll notice it has fairly low ceilings. The main hallway leads you to a stage. The seating is front row or tables on either side of the stage. Don't block the hallway to the bar, as it's a high traffic area, so go ahead and grab a seat. Let the waitress get your drink for you, as she's much nicer than the bartenders. Bartender is a hard job though but let's just forget about manners for a moment.....you should at least know your drink prices (I overheard a bartender asking the waitress how much a drink cost). Drinks can be rather pricey, as it is a strip club after all. Lastly about the drinks, be wary of the shots girl, beyond them being overpriced I've heard of customers allegedly being drugged through the shots girl. Next, in terms of étiquette, make sure not to use your phone while a girl is on stage. Seems obvious but welcome to the strip club newbies if ya didn't know. Next for the dancers...good, especially if you are interested in buying a dance. If you've come to be wowed by pole tricks you've come to the wrong place. These girls are actually paying the club to come to work every night and are not being paid for their time onstage so that is why you see so many girls moving as little as possible. If you're not tipping there is simply no reason for a girl to break her back for your free ass entertainment. But if you'd like to contribute to the tips the girls earn for stage performances I suggest the half song onstage little lapdance-ish experience. Head on up and lay down on the stage with a 5 in your mouth and let the girls do their thing (while you lay back and keep your hands to yourself). This is a fun experience for you, the audience, and possibly even the dancer. Next head upstairs for a lap dance, where you can respectfully touch the dancers (no, not between her legs you creep) and possibly meet a really nice girl. I had a real sweet French Canadian girl with a flower name who gave me the longest hug and was so sweet and so real with me. Honestly she was by far my favourite part, she really saved the experience from being a total disLastly let's talk about the remaining bar staff: the bouncers are appropriately beefy and not too much else to comment on in terms of them but if you're a woman don't flirt with the tall black bouncer lest he think you're hitting on him. The manager is a short little blonde dude with a Napoleon complex, can't miss him (or who knows maybe you will cuz he's pretty short), he'll be rude to you if you're a female customer in the bar, can't speak for the male experience. DJ is...literally nothing special he plays the songs and rewinds them if the girl needs more time, but does not introduce the girls very clearly or sound excited at all (again I get that it can be a thankless job but at least promote your girls). I asked the DJ and manager where a specific dancer was and they basically told me that I'd have to look for her myself. I was asking because I was trying to buy a lap dance off of her. The club undoubtedly makes money off of the lap dances the girls sell. Plus the club makes money from happy return customers who come back week after week. I was very surprised to hear then, that they told me to just look for her myself as opposed to telling her to look for literally the only woman in the club because she wants a lap dance. I had to ask another dancer to find her for me, which she did immediately (and I tipped her for her help) . Every other strip club I've been to has taken care of their dancers business and their customers experience. I guess barefax management is more concerned with those dolla dolla bills y'all. And it is what it is. It is a strip club after all. 3 stars all in all, the terrible management is balanced out by the sweetest of strippers. read more

Coming from the US for a business trip in Ottawa. I have to say Barefax is the best strip club I've been to. All of my previous experience has been in the US. The girls are a lot more friendly, not pushy at all. They're more beautiful as well. The only place in the US that has equivalent quality of girls is Vegas. What's more, you're free to touch. Maybe the locals are used to it, but coming from outside, I definitely had an excellent experience. The price is normal, no cover (for hotel stayers) is a def plus. read more

The first time it took 30 mins for us to tell them the girl we asked for was unavailable; the second time I paid for two girls to come dance for three people and they never came. We sat there waiting and eventually just got up and left. I talked to the manager about what happened and he didn't seem too concerned that I requested a dance twice and never got it. This place rocks! The dance routine is a little weird (there aren't girls on stage the whole time - it is kinda like one song on for every one song off). The girls are absolutely hot, and they are way more permissive than clubs I've been to elsewhere. All the girls encouraged me to grab them and rub them. At $20 a song for lap dances, you can blow your load very quickly (in more ways than one). Entry is cheap ($4), and the beer is reasonably priced ($7 a pint).
