If you like green plants or just want to be in a space with green plants, then make online reservations for free entrance to the Barbican Conservatory. Although signs indicate that the conservatory is on the 3rd floor, entrance is really on the 4th flour and opens at 12pm. If you have a stroller, the lift is best, but sans stroller, walk up the stairs and catch the peaceful view as the elevators can be slow and small. If you're around house plants or from California with their beautiful nurseries, seeing the plants at the conservatory will be nothing new or as well kept, with the exception that the monsteras, of which there are many, are huge as are the fiddle leaf fig trees. Surprisingly, there were a couple Angel Trumpet trees (Brugmansia) there and were labeled toxic as it should be. While touching Angel Trumpets is perfectly safe, it's the ingesting part that can cause death. Unfortunately, I could not smell the intoxicating fragrance that the blooms produce. In addition to the plants, there is a bar for which visitors can enjoy a drink while walking the conservatory. If it's raining, the conservatory makes for a good respit from the weather. While the conservatory is pleasant, I wouldn't make this attraction a "must see". read more
