I have been going to Barber Walter's for a few years since moving to the Boston burbs, and I haven't looked back! I had been going to the same barber for probably 7 years in the city, and it was hard to find a new one since moving west. I actually continued to drive into the city for my cuts for about a year (eek!) until I was pointed to these guys, and they are great! I've had cuts with both Travis and Christian and they are both super skilled at their craft. Street parking is super easy in Wellesley and I love the aesthetic and vibe of the shop. It's elevated and sophisticated, but comfortable. Will continue going back! read more

Have been getting hair cut at the salon in Life Time over the past 7 years; Decided to try a new spot close to home in Wellesley. Made a 60min appointment w Tim, really glad that I did; great service, nice haircut, and really relaxing environment. Looks like this will be my new hair cut spot; Will bring my 11old in next time as well! read more

While living in SF, Walter was my barber and when I moved back home to Boston, by destiny, Walter opened up a shop in Wellesley. Walter is an artist and still gives me the fresh cut as usual. read more

Such a hidden gem. Full service barbershop with 5 star service a rarity these days. Set with an old school vibe to tie it all together. Even the music is on point! My husband met with Christian Lopez and what a professional. Although he was skeptic to try a new shop Christian delivered from the precise shave to the haircut! Conversation was not forced and even gave us a couple new dinner spots to try in the area.(Just moves here from Utah). We would HIGHLY recommend anyone in the area to come see what all the hype is about! Customer for life. Thank you Christian ! read more

Awesome shop with a great atmosphere and vibe. Got a cut from Tim B. Came out great. Will be back regularly going forward.

Walter did a fantastic job with my haircut. I would definitely go back. Walter was extremely friendly and we had a great conversation. Walter obviously is an expert in cutting hair, but also focused on the little details in providing a great customer experience. The shop was one of the nicer barber shops I've ever been in, and he used one of those warm towels on my head after my cut (it's super pleasant + removes all of those tiny hair particles). I'll be back. read more

I was amazed to find such a craftsman in the area. This shop is extraordinary and possesses character. The shop is unique, fun and refreshing in a world of "cookie-cutter" shops like Super-Cuts. The service was amazing and I'd recommend to any and everyone. Keep blessing us with the cuts, conversation, and shop! The cut was so good he took me from my regular guy! read more

Barber Walter’s - Dope hoodie...but even better cut! Good lookin out Barber Walter's. - Barbers Near Me - Wellesley, Massachusetts

Not only a good haircut, but an awesome vibe and experience overall. The staff is kind and accommodating, and There's is always a surprise around the corner like the heated towels placed on your neck. Would recommend! read more

This is a great barbers shop right in Wellesley Square. I love the vibe of the shop. It is beautifully kitted out in natural wood, with vintage barbers chairs and a curated group of objects like typewriters, nordic skis, a sewing machine and an encyclopedia. There is also a bowl of pine cones, which i'm confident you won't find at any other barber shop in Wellesley. (Lastly and importantly, a large map of Wellesley on the wall. From my perspective maps are the very best thing to adorn your walls with, a design philosophy my wife will tell you I follow myself.) I learned that Walter the head barber has been cutting hair for a number of years and his skills were apparent. He clearly treats the work with care, and is very focused on the client experience. He's also an extraordinarily personable fellow. Overall a highly enjoyable 45 minutes, down to the eclectic mix of videos showing including cooking shows and music documentaries. A great addition to Wellesley!! read more

This is the barber experience that I have been looking for! Jeff Koseski is friendly and collegial, while offering a superb cut focused on delivering exactly what you have requested. Detail oriented, he sets you at ease right away and then delivers with good conversation and a solid haircut. Walter is wonderful as well and the setting he offers customers is second to none. Great music, great vibe, great people all around. The experience will not leave you disappointed. read more

I just had my first professional haircut in over a year, with Cristian at Barber Walter's. It was comfortable and felt safe, with both barbers and the only other customer wearing masks and spaced far apart. I look and feel a lot better, and will definitely go back. While most of the reviews mention Walter, he doesn't seem to be there anymore. I don't know what has changed with regard to ownership, but all I needed was a great haircut and that's what I got. read more

If you want the experience of what a true barbershop used to be, this is it. Great conversation, music and the best haircut and beard trim I have ever have. Walter takes care if you like an old friend who knows how to cut hair. read more

This is what a haircut should be. Walter is a great guy, takes his time cutting, and creates a nice environment. You can be social if you want, or just relax with a beer and read the news. Online booking is great, and everything is clean and slick, yet genuine. Oh yeah, and the cut itself was amazing. A real professional. read more

Moved from Miami 3 years ago and finally found my go-to spot to get my hair cut. Walter was a great combo of everything you like about a barber shop with someone who really knows how to give you a cool cut. read more

I scheduled an online appointment with Walter weeks ago for 12:30pm today. Walter called me at 10:00am asking if I could change my appointment to tomorrow because he had a potential conflict. Normally I'd be ok with this but I told him I had secured child care literally for the only reason of getting my haircut today. So, he said that he could honor my original appointment. I arrived at 12:20pm and waited until 1:10pm and he simply never showed up. I called and text messaged him with zero response. Still even now, 6 hours later, no response. I was really hoping to love his service, but the terrible first impression and poor communication ruined it. Further, I was telling this story to a local friend today and he laughed because a similar thing happened to him with Walter. Coupled with his other similar one star review, this seems to be his m.o.: poor time management, disrespectful of other people's time, and not owning his mistakes. Seems tough to run a business with these traits. read more

Barber Walter’s - Barbers Near Me - Wellesley, Massachusetts

Walter is bar none the best barber in the area. Booking online is simple. The barbershop is professional, welcoming and just for adults. Walter has great attention to detail and takes great pride in his work. Everyone I know says my hair has never looked better than after a cut here. Walter is also a great guy and is rooted in the community. I cannot offer higher praises and would recommend Walter to any man who wants a great, clean, professional hair cut. read more

Walter and his wife were really friendly and welcoming! Quality job by Walter. Not only was the cut perfect but the conversation was fun. Walter did an amazing job at trimming the beard as well. I highly recommend, even if you don't live in the area. I am a repeat customer for sure! read more

It has only taken me 45 years of haircuts to find the best Barber, my journey has ended! So I'm greeted with a smile and a hand shake, and feel instantly comfortable, the setup is perfect, light, airy and relaxing. The music eclectic and worldly. I notice all the little things said and done that come with someone clearly passionate about their work. So after 45 min of great thoughtful conversation, cold ones and what felt like hanging out, I've paid up and leave, only to realise that for the first time I never bothered to check out the haircut, nor was I asked to look in the mirror etc (and look awkward in a response), just walked out. Got home, and got the ultimate stamp of approval, the kids loved it! Much welcomed addition to Wellesley and surrounding towns, Highly recommended! Thanks to the missus for finding Barber Walters PS- book on line in advance, its easy. read more

This is the best barber shop around, hands down. Walter is a true master of his craft, and really knows how to bring about an authentic barber shop feel. Straight blade, with warm shaving cream and a tea tree scented hot towel really add to the experience. Also, the shop itself is custom built with high end finishes and touches that make it a true retreat to visit. Most of the hair products are locally sourced, which is a nice touch. I highly recommend Walter's services and am happy I found him. read more

I have been there twice. Scheduled my appointment online, which was very convenient. He does a great job and takes his work very seriously. In addition to a great haircut, the shop is so unique. Amazing attention to detail, great products and even my new favorite hoodie. Walter is an outgoing guy that makes you feel comfortable...it is like getting a haircut in your best friends house. Great music, TVs make the experience complete. read more

I was excited when I found this shop was opening. I booked an online appointment for my son, when we arrived the shop was closed. I received a text from Walter after our scheduled time apologizing - a pipe in his home burst. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, things happen! I booked another appointment online, showed up and the store was closed again. I don't care how good his cuts are. He is wasting my time. read more

Absolutely incredible experience. First, the decor has a speakeasy vibe that's high-end and puts any man cave you've been in to shame. Once you sit in the chair, it's clear Walter is a pro with every little detail that you don't get at even the most expensive places on Newbury street. He finishes the cut with a straight razor shave on the sideburns and neck with your choice of several scented shaving creams. You leave looking, smelling, and feeling like a million bucks. read more

Easily the best barber experience of my life. Super easy to make an appointment, walked in and he was ready to go. Walter is a funny and personable guy. Plus I am now super fly. I will certainly be back, and Id recommend this place to anyone who was looking for an amazing cut. read more

Just back from my second haircut with Barbie Walter. Impossible to overstate how good he is at all of his job. Easy, and funny, conversationalist; absolutely professional barber; and a very comfortable place to be. Both times, I have felt lucky to spend the time with him in his shop, and both times I have left with an absolutely terrific haircut. Absolutely outstanding. read more

I thought I would try this new Barber Shop and booked an appointment days in advance online from their website. Appointment was confirmed via credit card and less than an hour before the appointment I received a text to move the appointment 2 hours later which I couldn't make. Horrible first impression and won't try again for sure. read more

This was my second time in and I couldn't even believe what happened. First visit was great, nice haircut, good conversation. Second visit, I was asked to get out of the chair and leave for something that I said about Juuls... I believe he said it was because I said that I'm not a user and used the word "user" as opposed to whatever word is supposed to be acceptable but I'm still not even sure what exactly it was that I said to warrant me being asked to leave even after a 15 minute conversation/argument of me asking what it was that I said. He kept claiming that I was too young to understand and that I should call someone older so he can talk to them and then have them explain to me. I'm a 24 year old college graduate with a Master's degree, I can understand well enough. After arguing about whatever the issue was for 15 minutes I tried to leave and he then agreed to cut my hair... This made me pretty nervous and the only reason I agreed is because I really needed the haircut that day. What happened was extremely unprofessional and something I have never experienced before. I will definitely not be back in unfortunately because I have lost a lot of respect for him. I just can't believe that incorrect terminology, in his opinion, that I used when talking about an electronic cigarette was enough to ask me to leave and deny me service and then also not even explain to me what it was that I said that offended him because I am 24 and he is 40. read more

Someone referred me to Barber Walter's as a nice new barbershop in Wellesley. I've had two instances now where I've made an appointment and it gets cancelled at the last minute. With the first one, I actually arrived for the appointment and the shop was closed (and I waited for 20 min outside to see if someone would come). I talked to the owner (who was apologetic), and then went online again and made an appointment for a week later (today). This morning, I got an email cancelling my appointment without explanation and now I need to find an appointment somewhere else. For a place that clearly values its own time (takes a credit card to hold the appointment and has a policy where they charge you $22 if you cancel you within 24h before), they really don't value or respect the customers time. Going somewhere else and not looking back! read more

I had an appointment last Tuesday. Confirmed. Went to shop on time - it was closed. Sent an email. No reply. Sent another email next day. No reply. Got very good haircut at Roosters in Wellesley. Still no reply. read more

Barber Walter's is top notch all around. I first started going to Walter when I lived in San Francisco and he had a barbershop there. Fast forward 9 years and by luck I discovered he'd moved to Wellesley and opened a new shop in town. First off -- I live in Boston and now gladly make the trek out to Wellesley every month for a haircut. There are many good barbers, but Walter is a true professional who lives and breathes the trade and takes great pride in what he does, and he does it very well! He's recreated (and improved upon) the classic barbershop atmosphere of his San Francisco location. Antique photos and memorabilia from his family adorn the walls and classic jazz pipes through the speakers. It's a great way to spend a Saturday morning -- getting a haircut and catching up on all the latest movies, TV shows and current events. Walter is a great conversationalist who takes genuine interest in his clients and gets to know them over time. I can't recommend him or his shop highly enough! read more
