Great Service and vibes! I highly recommend this shop For anyone interested in skilled barbers who know what they're doing!

Got a perfect cut. Friendly guys, nice setting. I went to Abe and my husband went to Ali, also a perfect cut.

Was in Calgary for work and badly needed a fade/cut. Booked easily through their website. Arrived 10mins before my booked time and they had me in right on time. Definitely a busy place though! If they didn't operate mainly through booked appointments, pretty sure they'd have long wait times. Loved this as my barbershop back in Vancouver can have 1.5-2hr waits. I'm always unsure of trying new barbers/shops. So many bad fades and cuts over the years. Felt pretty confident as soon as I walked in that I made a good choice with this place, and they didn't disappoint. Chris did my cut and did a great job. Friendly, took the proper amount of time (30-45min), and very clear about what he was doing. Great fade and cut. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Calgary. Thanks Chris and Barber Culture for what you're doing! read more

if you're looking for a blind barber, look no further. they have a special needs blind barber that's only ever cut hair once and it was me.

Went for my first hair cut in Calgary since moving from Edmonton. It's tough to find a good barber so I assume I need to keep trying. It's a nice enough shop and friendly staff but unfortunately I got a very inexperienced barber and after an hour in the chair and seeing some struggles with the scissors and getting the cut even I wanted out of there. Other customer came and went and I was still in the chair trying to coach my barber what needed attention. Once I got home I felt a bit of pain on the back of my neck and noticed some redness and a very weird uneven hairline at the back. I think next time I go I will be requesting the barber who he asked to come and double check the work. Very odd experience to say the least. read more

Barber Culture - 17th Ave - Strange uneven hairline and a nice cut from the blade. - Barbers Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

I've been looking for a new barber for a while now and after the reading the reviews here I decided to give Barber Culture a try. Wow, let me tell you I'm glad I did because these guys are awesome. The vibe in this place is great. Comfy leather couches, interesting decor, complimentary drinks and good music create a relaxed and inviting environment. Add to that an excellent location, free parking, and friendly staff - I felt welcome from the moment I walked in. James was my barber and gave me an awesome fade - I couldn't be happier with his work. I've had dozens of barbers over the years and let me tell you, this guy is good. Knowledgeable, engaging, quick, and skilled. I was prepared to dish out $50-60 for the cut (I didn't even look up the price beforehand) but their rates are very reasonable - my cut was only $29. If you frequent barber shops or are looking for a great fade, give them a try. 5 stars for exceptional service and skill. read more

Why is it difficult to find a good barber in this city ? Seems like anytime I find my self in a jam and have to bring my father in for a haircut and am forced to try a different shop I end up with a bad experience. These haircuts were also NOT cheap. Read all the "SPECTACULAR " reviews and decided to bring my father and my 15 year old nephew for a Christmas cut. My father's cut was supposed to be a business executive cut and my nephews was supposed to be medium length with enough length to do messy style. Both haircuts were rushed and cut way to short. My nephew said they both got a FADE ! What ever that is. And by his words " not a good fade " . Two haircuts in 25 min total ?? How could anyone do a good cut in that time. I never looked happy when we left (neither did they) but it seemed the stylist (and I think the owner was watching) certainly didnt care. read more

Renada is the best barber in Calgary! I was faffing about a lot when I first moved here, jumping from one place to another, looking for a decent haircut, but I've finally found my place at Barber Culture. Everybody else that I see leaving also leave with decent haircuts so I don't think you can go wrong with any of the barbers here. read more

Shop is beautiful. The decor is precisely what one would expect at a trendy, hip hop barber shop. The cut was rushed and average at best. The stylist was very friendly and polite but unfortunately did not take the time to do a proper job. read more

Visiting Calgary for the week and needed a hair cut. Got right in at 530 and got a great cut. Highly recommended. Fyi for American visitors, bring cash because the card machine wont take cards from the states. read more

Just dropped into this new spot for a hot shave and beard trim. James knows what he'a doing. I can be a pretty tough customer when it comes to beard trims and fades, just know what I like but James dialled it in perfect. Nice clean shop, convenient location. Will definitely be back again. read more

Great atmosphere, great barbers, great price. What else is there to say, me and my sons will be clients for life.

I just went there for a trim but came out with FAAAAAR more than expected. I had the girl cut my hair (forgot her name) and she is definitely talented and knowledgeable. My concern is that she is far too fast and complacent for her own good. I only asked for a trim and ended up getting an eyebrow cut, beard trim and my hair is completely uneven. I have gaps in my head and have to wear a hat until it grows out. She definitely knows her stuff but was cutting my hair as if she was timed on a realty show fighting for her spot. Word of advice. Less is more. Cut less and ask if that's what they want or if they want more off. I like a barber to take their time while fading my hair, makes me feel like they care and are actually taking their time to listen to what I want. I wouldn't say to not go there I would just say be careful and very precise on what you want. read more

Best cut I've gotten in a long time. Also like how you can book an appointment and not just walk in like most places I've been. Will definitely be going back. read more

I have been at barbers around the globe for over 500 shaves and this was the single worst barber shop experience in my life. The tipping point was not the uncomfortable chair, the neck cuts, nor the terrible loud music or the awful lighting, it was the disrespect the owner had for me. Im not even concerned with the personal disrespect, I'm talking about the disrespect for his business! I bring top line revenue with no fix cost as marginal client. I'm literally money to his business and I will never see it again. And I hope he will never see your money either. Nobody should run a business and disrespect his baby like that. read more

super friendly and accommodating. Great haircut at a reasonable price. I will definately coming back. Ask for D boy

Always feel welcome and love the staff there, I have tried all the stylists there and I am happy with all, I am always on the go so I don't have a stylist I personally prefer so this team at barber culture is great, who ever is available is all I need, they are great and while you wait, help yourself to a beverage and charging station for your phone or tablet. They also offer a variety of products for hair and beards, and accessories. Last of all the Music is always Hoppin, great atmosphere! read more

First time getting my haircut there and Abe did a great job. I was a walk in and he took me right away and very happy with my cut.

Great fades, great service, great price, great atmosphere. Very impressed. They also take appointments which means you don't have to wait 2 hours for a cut. Very good energy in this place. read more

Great space. James is very good at what he does. Can not speak highly enough of the haircut and experience. I have found my new barber.

Great ambiance. As a birthday gift I sent my friend there for a haircut and beard trim and he saw Danny. We were greeted with a friendly smile and a steam whistle beer which was awesome. I would recommend barber culture to anyone who looking for a great cut and service but doesn't want to go to a walk in low end barber shop read more

Giovanni at the 620 - 5 Street SE (East Village) location did a splendid job on my hair. First time I am going there and am impressed. This guy is competent, friendly, and takes his time. Good job, Giovanni. Thank you. read more

Beware of the East Village location - very nice location and majority of staff are friendly. Just moved over here from Vancouver and missed 1 appointment on my second visit and showed up again for a haircut. I attempted to cancel online via email but did not realize it prompted me to another window to call to cancel. One of the staff, Alex has approached me aggressively and has demanded me to pay DOUBLE the service before proceeding. No professionalism and little explanation. Paying a penalty would of been OK if it wasn't for the hostility and attitude towards a new customer. Moving on and never visiting again. read more

My first visit so, just based on some reviews, asked for Alex or James when I phoned for an appointment. When I said I also wanted a wash, I was told I'd get Alexandra. Okay, no problem. I actually got Danny. Surprising but, ok, since I didn't have any experience with anyone specific anyways, no biggie. I hadn't had a haircut for about a year and, although I like my hair longish (which I mentioned), it was totally out of control (I'm guessing it was generally about a foot or so long everywhere). I said that cutting about 6 months worth everywhere ought to do it, as I still wanted it long. I then randomly grabbed my bangs and put my fingers about 5 inches up from the end (leaving about 7 or so inches in length to cut) and said that I figured cutting about that much off everywhere should do the trick. Ended up with the sides and back shaved to about 1/4 inch at most with it longer on the top (2 or so inches) and about 4 inch long bangs on one side and about 7-8" long bangs on the other. (Since he immediately started by shaving that much off on the one side to begin with, it was pretty clear that I was committed from the beginning so I just went with it.) I asked him to even out the length of the bangs and called it a day. To backtrack, after he shaved the back of my head I mentioned that it wasn't looking anything like I'd asked for, he explained that my selection of bang length pretty much dictated the style he was giving me and that he was "just following my instructions.". I accept that I could have been clearer in my instructions, but I certainly didn't instruct him to cut my hair super short (in my books) except on the top and bangs. Danny certainly seemed like a really nice guy and was pleasant throughout the cut, but I was rather put off that the result differed so extremely from what I'd asked for while being told that it was actually what I'd requested. Sorry for the length (pun intended). read more

Alexandra just gave me a fantastic cut! I felt like she took her time to do it right instead of rushing through it. She also made some great suggestions on how to style my hair. I will be back fu sho! read more

Could not ask for a better haircut, willing to say this is the best barber shop in Calgary

I wish there was an option for zero stars. I went to this place for he first time a couple of months ago. I was cut in the neck so bad by Alex, I had marks for weeks. After calling and wanting to speak to the manager, the guy that did my cut answer and pretended to be the manager, even said he remember me. His explanations was that well this things happen, not sure why we would have not mention anything or adjusted his equipment. Guy never apologized or offer to refund, only to give me a free cut next time, why would I want to go back??. Avoid this place !! read more

Wow and wow ! I'm so glad I went there ,Alex the barber there is professional and have the what we call in French "soucis du détail " , it's clean and even as it can get , let's not forget the nice finish with the blade :). Thanks ! Oh it's really affordable surprisingly, cause I paid double then this kind of treatment in Van City so .....that's why there is a lots of room for a good tip read more

Funky shop. Bad Haircut. It seems like the guy beside me was getting a cool cut. I had to basically direct my the barber (a woman) after saying "just make it look good!". I've had much more success at London Barbers etc. with this strategy. Also a little pricier than most ($30) read more
