BUT check everyone's bags not just the black people... A worker/manager (see photo) told me to check/leave my bags at the front, which I obliged - again due to the area. However, neglected to ask any other non-black patrons to do the same (see photos). I then had to stand in line for 10 minutes to retrieve my belongings because they had one person working the register. Took my business next door to dollar tree, and BBB will be hearing about this.

If it is not, you would return said item in *original condition*, *unused*, within less than 24 hours. That is an extremely rigid policy when you're in the store at 3 pm wanting to purchase the item and if a return is needed you will return it as soon as the store opens the next day. Far less than 24 hours. No exceptions are made to their policy which they say they put in place because people wear things then return them. Understandable. I agree. But this was a communion veil on a Friday afternoon. No church is celebrating First Communions on a Friday night or first thing Saturday morning. Yet they were unwavering in their policy. Very disappointing.

This best friend of mine also has cancer and has been undergoing brutal and painful treatment for the last few weeks now. While accompanying her to her treatment one day, we decided to just spend the entire appointment online shopping. She ended up falling in love with the most adorable chair for her daughter, so she purchased it online with the option of picking it up at her local PB Kids, because honestly who wouldn't love to save on shipping? We get a pick up date and on said date, we head over to pick it up. I offer to help carry it out, and after ooh-ing and ahh-ing over what seems to be an Anthropologie for specifically babies, we head up to the front to pick up said chair. My friend explains that she bought a chair online to ship to this PB Kids to pick up and pulls out the emailed receipt with all the necessary info. Now, instead of giving us the damn chair and asking if we needed anything else, we got a verbal ass whooping instead by some crusty employee with brown curly hair that looked to be around her late 30's/early 40's. Why you may ask? Because my best friend with cancer didn't physically come into the store and buy the one they had in stock or call ahead and ask for their display one so that this PB kids would get the commission/credit for the chair. This woman was just going OFF. I'm not sure what a child's chair ever did to this woman, but it must have been something traumatic considering the scene that she caused. While this woman was telling my friend to get her priorities straight, my friend (bless her heart) just wished her the best while I was ready to start yelling back. What's even more unbelievable is that no other team member stepped in. I just feel bad for this associates kids and husband, if she even has those. Anyways, don't shop here unless you want some middle aged broad screaming at you about making their numbers and profits fall when you buy something.

Their furniture prices are insanely cheap and the couches and chairs are super comfortable! I am currently in the process of purchasing (still need to do some measurements) two book cases for my place.. $60 combined for both! That is literally unheard of. They have rugs, curtains, kitchen items, cleaning products and even food. Most recently I visited Big Lots and picked up "Back to Nature" brand fudge striped cookies.. a box of these runs about $4-5 in other grocery stores, including Giant Eagle and Whole Foods. What did I pay at Big Lots? $1.25 a box! An awesome deal! They have tons of granola, cereal, canned goods and even a decent selection of gluten free foods! They are also adding coolers/freezers to this Big Lots and I am super excited! Big Lots has everything. Walking Carson Street you wouldn't think to look twice while passing it. It honestly looks like it could be somebody's house. Much like some of the places that dot the street. The only reason we knew to enter here was that the door was open to the store. When you walk in you are greeted by an employee (possibly the owner). Very helpful she was, she also informed us that there is more merchandise to look at on the upper level and backroom. When she said upper level we assumed the four or five steps it took to get up to the platform from the main floor. Nope, we were wrong. The upstairs of the place had stuff in it. Remember back when I mentioned this looked like someone's house. Well, when you walk up to the platform area it's really the dining room. The backroom, really a kitchen. Upstairs, bedrooms with closets. Really odd, but also really unique for a set up for a store. Each room of the "house" was stocked with items you would find in that particular room. Napkins, pot holders and what not in the kitchen and so forth. As for the merchandise in here. Definitely one of a kind type of items. Photographs of various Pittsburgh landmarks, bracelets galore and just everything you could imagine an artist creating is for sale in here. Once I move into a bigger place I can guarantee you I will be coming here for some prints to hang on my wall. They even have some awesome items that make you think, "Why didn't I think of that before?" I also imagine if Pintrest was a store, this would be what it was based on. I examined some of the items and then thought to myself, 'remember this, you are going to try and do this yourself at home.' Prices vary, but you have to remember you are paying for the artist here. I assume most the revenue from the prices goes back to the artist that generated the abundance of items in here.
