Just returned from a visit where my father purchased a necklace for my mother for their 50th wedding anniversary. It ended up being $100 (full price). When we first arrived, he asked one of the associates if he could see a silver cross necklace to purchase it. She said the price was $95.00. My father was confused because he was told about a week prior that the necklace was $85.00 which was written on a card for him. They insisted the price did not change but after I asked additional questions they admitted that the necklace was moved to a different case recently. He had been talking about this necklace and specifically coming back to buy it at the Hallmark store in Trinity Point. Because I felt bad about the miscommunication, I asked if they had any coupons that might help him since he had a Hallmark Crown card. The other associate/manager recited back that she cannot tell us the promotions we would have to have our mailer. This is where I now have a problem. Why can't the associate look to see if my father had anything that might help him if he is entitled to the promotion especially since there was a misunderstanding on the price. Her attitude was very unfriendly and insincere. They just stared at us. To me this is not a good representation of the Hallmark brand. They had no intention of putting forth any extra effort for my father to create a positive shopping experience. So my Dad paid the full price and they went on with their day but next time two customers will probably pick another place to shop. If it was my store, I would train the associates on how to do a better job at making customers feel valued. Disappointing! read more
