Mathew was there every step of the way. We found a few houses and made a couple offers. Mathew was great at making sure that we were putting in competitve offers without having to just increase our price! He was also there when the mortgage broker that we decided to go with bailed on us. If it wasn't for Mathew and his connections we would not have gotten a mortgage in time for the house we finally found and had an offer accepted on. He was able to call in a favor with a competing mortgage broker to get our horrible mortgage broker to finish things up in time. If you want to find your perfect house and you want to navigate through the epic task of finding, offering, negotiating, and closing with someone that knows the area, has brilliant connections, and is an overwhelmingly pleasant person then call Mathew. Hilary & Darcie are a real estate dream team!…read more We were buying - our first home, too. So, as expected, we had all the questions. Many of which I assume are in the "there's no such thing as a dumb question, but..." category :). Hilary & Darcie graciously answered them all, quickly and with plenty of details. As our purchase took place during COVID-19, house tours looked a little different, but they helped us navigate that too. From ensuring we could get in and view a house quickly, to making us feel comfortable with proper PPE and social distancing practices. When we found *the* house, they were quick to draft up an offer and walk us through what everything meant (it's a long contract, but important to understand!). They helped us find and schedule inspections, get bids during negotiations, and coordinate repairs with the seller. And because they work seamlessly as a team, they were available 7-days a week and were able to jump right in no matter who we spoke with last. As a first-time buyer, it would have been really easy to get lost in all of this, but I was never worried that we were missing a step. Hilary & Darcie had our backs throughout the entire process, which was a huge relief! And even as we started moving in and looking at some small upgrades and customizations, they have continued to be a wonderful resource for connecting to local professionals across a wide variety of services. I highly recommend working with Hilary & Darcie - you'll be glad you did!

I have numerous friends who've worked with Krautter as well, and all rave about him. If you're buying or selling a home in PDX, don't call anyone else. I had never purchased a home before, and didn't really know the drill whatsoever. I fully anticipated that my realtor would be pushy, trying to get my into a house asap so they could collect their 3%. Glenn and Nick were the absolute antithesis of this. I looked at probably 10 houses before making an offer, and on the first nine homes, Glenn told me all the reasons why I *shouldn't* buy the place! When I finally found a place that I liked, he'd already gained my trust, and when he said he couldn't see any issues with the place, I went for it. He structured the offer in a way that the sellers took my offer, even though they had another offer for more money. Amazing. During the inspection process, it was discovered that the roof would need to be replaced sometime in the next 3-5 years. He brought out another roofer for a second opinion, and was able to get the sellers to pay for a brand new tear-off roof. Amazing. I couldn't have imagined a smoother home buying process, and will soon be moving into a house far nicer than I'd ever imagined in one of my favorite neighborhoods. Kudos to Nick and Glenn. And if you need a mortgage guy, call James Adair. Equally impressive, and works closely with Krautter.
