In a last second decision, I went to Bar Tulia with a friend around 6pm on a Monday. In high season. I've always liked this establishment because of its warm cozy dimly lit ambiance, and the good music playing in the background. We found the last 2 seats at the bar and were quickly greeted by Adrian the bartender. He was very attentive and accommodating even though the place was getting quite busy and he was making many tasty looking craft cocktails for the guests and for the servers at the service bar. We drank some light and bright sauv blanc and decided to order the salmon with kale and citrus butter sauce. It was cooked perfectly at medium rare which we asked for and was probably the best salmon dish I've had in Naples. If you like salmon, you must try this dish they will cook it at whatever temperature you like! Adrian came to check on us several times through the meal and also Bart the manager came to check on us and others around the bar and tables which was very nice to see management involved and care about the guests experiences. We felt like we got 5 star service from the staff that night and the food was 5 stars as well, so I had to write a 5 star review. As I like to say, there is a holy trinity for a successful restaurant or bar. You must have these 3 things. Food. Service. Atmosphere. A busy place on a Friday night. Service was excellent. Our server was very professional. The food was well presented and very tasty. Complimentary fresh bread was served with an eggplant salsa that we really enjoyed. Our next item was heirloom tomatoes and buretta cheese. Very good! Great restaurant!! We were overwhelmed with the choices on 5th Avenue, but this place caught our eye and glad we chose it. The Bar was stocked with different cocktails and drinks. The restaurant portion was small, but the menu had a lot of unique offerings with real Italian cooking. I had the pear and walnut pasta it was beyond delicious. The cheese curds were great. Our first meal in Naples! We drove downtown and walked around. It was packed with people so we were grateful we had made a reservation. We ordered the meatballs, Classico pizza, cacio e pepe, and the tortellini. All were good, but I thought the pizza was my favorite part of the meal. The pastas were very good but both very rich so we probably should have mixed it up a bit more. Despite the amount of people, service was very good. We never had to look around for our server. We were torn on which pizza to order and asked about the potential to make the pizza "half and half". He was very accommodating but it seemed like it would be complicated for the kitchen so we just decided to stick with one pizza. read more

This review is only for happy hour. We had a good time there sipping some proseccos. The snacks were good. Especially the chicken wings were well done so we had two. The cheese curds and hummus can be tried as well. I was a bit disappointed because of the lack of a simple coctail in the happy hour menu. Maybe a simple punch? The simplest and one of the most fun things in summer! So I think they should really diversify their menus a bit. The restaurant was almost empty on a Tuesday afternoon. So we got timely service. Overall I had an awful experience at Bar Tulia. This is quite unfortunate considering it came recommended. I can now see why I've walked by it many times without going in and had wished I'd done the same this evening. Covid protocol, Unfortunately many in Florida may not carry about this comment but the restaurant Violated its commitments consistently. Bartenders kept taking down masks to talk, the bar area was not cleaned while i sat next to it and I watched the most basic of cleaning or tables (wouldn't have meet my pre covid expectations). As I was closing out I witnessed a bartender eating at the bar while making drinks. Absolutely repulsive, again even pre covid (I have pictures and pointed out for the manager). Food The meatball appetizer was just ok. I like a better crust on the meatballs as they fell apart too easily. They were well seasoned although not exactly what I was looking for. The sauce and cheese added made me feel like I was at the Olive Garden. I recommend passing. The tuna tartare special was fine, fish was fresh and I was good with the "Italian" twist. Scallops were just ok. Dish was confusing and lacked flavor, perhaps why they have salt and pepper on the table. I did eat the scallops and left the majority of the rest of the dish intact. I'd never order these again even if they charged a fraction of the cost. Service Here is where things fell flat. I was a table of one and received absolutely no attention. My entire meal took over 2 hours which is madness for a single. I finished my tartare and waited 24 I'm tired before any attention, food and drink empty. The waiter finally came over with a ton of dishes in his hands (why isn't anyone clearing tables) and dropped liquid on my while asking if I was ready for dinner. Essentially that was enough for me. I'm summary, I would not recommend bar tulia under any circumstances and in an area with diverse choices I'm surprised this place has even survived. Perhaps the businesses are doing so well it doesn't matter. I'm giving it two stars considering the manager tried to rectify the situation. Please note I refused any discounting. I felt from an integrity standpoint the reviews and subsequent conversations I have with conferences parties would maintain more substance knowing this. read more

I don't do too many reviews, but this place is the best. I also don't typically order salmon when I'm out, but they have the best salmon dish I've ever had. The one in the bar side, with the curry. Pizza is also phenomenal and anything else I've had. Great drinks as well. Looking forward to the opening of the one in Mercato, hopefully same menu and style. Also, the music is great. You can tell he loves his job and that's a good thing because he rocks at making drinks. The food is delicious. You have to try the Grilled Octopus. I have never had Octopus that good in my entire life. It isn't chewy at all. Try it! We also had the Rigatoni which was good, a Pizza with Strawberries and Honey and something else on it that I can't remember, which was AMAZING, and the BT Burger (Shortrib) which was okay. We have gone to Osteria Tulia(the next door sister restaurant) a few times, and didn't realize this next door little hidden gem was a completely separate establishment with an amazing menu. The service was very "cool" and laid back but friendly & good nonetheless. Had a few apps and shared a pasta dish and a pizza afterwards with my 13 yo foodie daughter. Needles to say we couldn't finish all the food. The tuna tartar was very good but not best we've ever had & the pig ears were very yummy. Didn't care much for the cheese curds, just an elevated version of "mozarella sticks" w a tomato sauce for dipping, however I can c the appeal at the bar w drinks. Thoroughly enjoyed the homemade pasta(pig tails) dish. It was amazing. The notorious P. I. G. pizza was good but not amazing. Overall it was a great dinner and would go back anytime. read more

Chris was my server and he crafted THE ideal experience for me. He was able to recommend things based on how I was feeling and wanting. Everything- from the (2) cocktails I had to the Tuna Crudo to the Octopus, was exactly what I was craving and he timed everything out perfectly. If you love kale salad you will have to try theirs! It's one of the best ones I have ever had, regularly. Every time I come here I try it and it still is in the lead. :) There hasn't been something on the menu that I have tried and not liked and the staff is always very kind, knowledgeable and patient. The food comes out semi quickly and is always so tasty and fresh. The one thing I will say whenever it is busy the music and people seem like way too much since the space is smaller but that's not very often and one could always decide to sit outside. We arrived for lunch and were quickly offered shaded patio or indoor seating, which we picked as it was cooler inside. The dining room has lowered wooden ceilings and has a a comfortable but busy feel. We ordered the garganelli and slow braised lamb Sufi and pasta and the oxtail ragu pappardelle sauce pasta. The flavors were very nice. We were given complimentary bread and an olive tomato eggplant antipasto which was excellent. Coffee was lack luster. Service was friendly and helpful.
