Our family of 5 had a great experience on a stop here for dinner, on our drive up to Rovaniemi…read moreduring the summer. This is a small, locals place with an excellent pub food and beer selection, and a cozy ambience. They didn't have English menus, but the bartender was kind enough to translate enough of the menu for us that we could order something we all liked. We realized later that we should have ordered at the bar, but the bartender went out of his way to come to our table to help us, clear things, etc. Fantastic! Schnitzels and fish and chips were both excellent, as were the local beers on tap. Other items on the menu that patrons at nearby tables had ordered looked yummy as well. Portions were not gut-busting, as you would expect for pub food, but prices were very reasonable for Finland.

A Mexican restaurant in its designation. We stopped in for…read moredinner on Sunday night - if you are visiting Kuopio, you don't have too many options, so luckily this place was open. Tortilla chips and salsa are the first thing which appears on the table - the presentation was a bit sloppy and there could've been a bit more salsa, but still, it was a good start. Selection of beer was limited. I wanted to drink local Kuopio beer, and there was only one option available on tap - but it was not bad. My main dish was salmon and shrimp combination with a side of sweet potato fries. Both main dish and a side dish were delicious. Two people in our company were vegans, and they ended up having falafel - style salad and soft tacos with veggies, and both dishes were quite good. Good, friendly service. Recommended.
