As a visitor to Belo, this is a pretty cool bar to go check out; especially on Thursday (and Tuesday?) when there is live Chorinho music. It is a classic BH boteco in that after a certain hour it completely takes over the sidewalks. In this case because it's a corner bar, it looks like the place is wrapped on all sides by people sitting, standing, chatting, drinking, singing, and laughing.
The bar is a well-known hangout for fans (torcedors) of Atletico Mineiro football club, and there are many cool relics, old photographs and a collection of shirts displayed on the walls. You better not wear anything bright blue, the color of Atletico's in-town rival Cruzeiro;)! Atletico hangout or not, it felt like the clientele was an awesome mix of locals and university students.
Beer is cold and there is some nice food to be had. The bife de boi plate we had wasn't a bargain (R26) but very yummy! read more
