This spot is located in my town of San Giovanni in Fiore, Cosenza, Italy. It is a neighbourhood…read morespot where mostly the guys/men of the neighbourhood hang out right after work/before dinner either playing a few hands of cards or checking the computers for the soccer scores. As well, the new thing, in Italy, I guess is to "bet" on the soccer games via the Internet.
I came here for the free wi-fi since I needed to Skype with my classroom while I was away. The people that run this establishment are really nice and the environment is not such that you feel intimidated being (and sometimes it did happen) that you are the only woman in the place. It is a small place, with lots of natural light coming in during the day.
The nice part, aside the nice demeanor of the people that run it, is the "cioccolata calda" (Italian hot chocolate). It is a wonderful elixir of hot, dark chocolate pudding (a bit more liquid than actual pudding). They have a full bar, but mostly it is a place to grab a quick espresso on your way to work, a beer after work or an apertif.... and the free wifi :-)
