Gave this place a try again and am now a fan! Came here late Friday night because the kitchen were already closed at the other bars in the area. On the menu it said that the kitchen closed at 10 PM on Fridays but we were still able to get food around 11 PM. I ordered carnitas fries and my bf ordered the Package Burger. Both were surprisingly tasty. I had low expectations because bar food doesn't tend to be impressive, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well marinated the carnitas was and the size of both plates. I'm also a stickler for fries and somehow they got these thick fries to be both crispy and soggy--best of both french fry worlds! The crispiness also held up underneath the huge mounds of guacamole and sour cream. Had a bite of the burger and the patty was juicy and flavorful. Been here several times as it is walking distance when necessary :) Every meal the wife and I have ordered has been very good. Great food and drinks! I stop in here every time I am in the Old Roseville area. 101 has a cool corner spot with a wall of windows for a view and a cool outside area. Unfortunately, Old Roseville itself has dropped off a bit. Seems to be more homeless and some shady types hanging around the last few times. The 101's location is really center in this so the view is a bit affected. The food is great. Massive burgers for sure. Root beer floats are outstanding! They can whip up whatever you are looking for drink wise. They have different entertainment and deals on a regular basis. Good times to be had here! read more

Come here for the beer and stay for the good food and friendly service. They have 27 taps by my count with at least 3 excellent IPA's. I'm never disappointed. This was our first time here. One of the only places open early enough to watch the 10 am football game. The place is clean, best bar service I've ever had, and the food....the food is amazing. We got the biscuit and gravy, the gravy has a smoky flavor to it, it's really good. But the California eggs Benedict will blow your mind. The hash brown are as equally mind blowing, crispy on the outside and soft and airy in the middle! The bar staff walks around and checks on you. Tried this place out on a Saturday night, got seated quickly despite the business of the place. The food and drinks were good, it was live music night so it was extremely loud- had to almost yell to my boyfriend who was right next to me. The restaurant is smaller so the noise level was fairly high. We had good service throughout the meal until it came to pay. We had two girls who were checking on us and nearby patrons until they both disappeared for about 45min at the end of our meal when we were going to ask for the check. Once we were able to flag someone down it took about another 20min to pay and leave. It's too die for... From the atmosphere, to the waiter/ bartender Cooper, to the FOOD OMG YES THE FOOD. 20 beers on tap and in regards to ciders they have "angry orchard, angry orchard, and angry orchard" - Cooper. Cool little bar. Went here for the first time because our friend recommended it. I was not disappointed. We had the carnitas fries which were super delicious!! Then we had the cowboy burger. The burger was big so you could split it if you had appetizers before hand. We also had the onion rings which were to die for. I will definitely be back. I always stick with hard cider when I drink and I forgot the name but it was really good. Our friend tried the chocolate hazelnut beer and loved it also. The bartender was friendly and the food was ready fast. Very clean place also. They have a bunch of tvs so we were able to watch football there too. Just moved to Roseville, and was looking for a good place in the neighborhood to invite friends. Bar 101 came up on Yelp, and appeared to be exactly what I was looking for. We all met up last Sunday, and unanimously agreed that Bar 101 was going to be our new 'Cheers'. The food was excellent, the place was clean- and had perfect lighting and ceiling height for a sports bar/live music club, or just meet up with friends to unwind place. I had a grilled chicken cobb, a mini fish taco and the best Bloody Mary In the world. So good, in fact, I don't remember what everyone else had, only that they loved it! My husband went to Bar 101 to enjoy a random kid-free afternoon. Honestly, I loved the little joint. Lots of dark wood, greasy food, fun beer choices, and attitude. I can tell that this is probably a really fun place after dark, not that I ever get to enjoy going out after dark these days...lol, but if I could, I'd hit up Bar 101. This is probably my favorite spot in all of downtown Roseville. They have the best beer selections, bar menu and the staff is always wonderful. Brandi is by far the best bartender. She is always so friendly, laughing, very attentive to everyone. I never order off the beer menu. She always knows and remember me, my beer taste and has samples ready for me. When she isn't working (which is very random), it's not the same. Not only do I go to Bar 101 for the beer, we go for the ambiance. Great place during the day and week for kids. Have I really not written a review of Bar 101? Apparently not, so it is high time I did! We kind of stumbled on to this place a little more than a year ago due to its close proximity to our home. We were looking for good beer selection and decent food. Well, Bar 101 was that and more. I can't speak to the first time I visited because we have been there so many times since (thus the reason I couldn't believe I hadn't reviewed yet). Before I get to food and beer selection, let me talk about the staff. Chris, Gina, Tricia and others I am forgetting are all awesome. Super friendly and on top of things. Doesn't matter what time of day you visit or how busy they are in my experience the service is always top notch. Food, mmmmm the food. I have tried numerous things on the menu and have never been disappointed. We have had various sandwiches, calamari, fish tacos, carnitas tacos and all were good. However, there are a couple house specialities that can NOT be missed. Carnitas nachos are awesome, and the very best thing on the menu (IMHO) are the carnitas fries. They are SLAP YO MAMA good. We get them every time we go. You gotta try em. You haven't really lived until you do. Beer....oooh beer (in the voice of Homer Simpson). While Homer S. is happy with Duff beer, you don't have to settle on that swill if you visit Bar 101. With what has to be 20 or more rotating taps there is something to satisfy even the most discerning beer geek. Now I love beer, especially a certain type of beer. You could call me a "Hop Head" and Bar 101 always has multiple choices for me. On the rare occasion I don't feel like imbibing, they have Sprechers root beer on tap too. Cold and creamy from the source. Doesn't get much better than that. Now, while I am a lady of a certain age and my hubby even an older certain age we like to do what is called "day drinking" so we usually visit earlier in the day or evening. We visit to watch football which Bar 101 is perfect as they have multiple TV screens so everyone can watch their perspective teams at the same time. Perfect for the hubbs and I who root for different teams (GO BILLS). Though I have not attended any, I do know Bar 101 has events and live music on occasion as well. From looking at fliers it looks like they have a good variety of music that comes thru. Well I think I covered all the bases....oh wait I forgot one important thing. Cleanliness. Their bathrooms and dining room are always impeccably clean. Now, I have covered all the bases! Bottom Line: If you are looking for good grub, great beer selection, plenty of seating and TV screens and stellar service, try out Bar 101! Cheers!!! read more

The food here is good but it's a lot of fried foods so your gut should be prepared. The atmosphere is Sports Bar and it's very noisy since it's open with TVs but it sits in the middle of Old Roseville so if you eat outside it's very quaint. We did enjoy the quick service. read more

I work in downtown Roseville so I was excited to see that Bar 101 had such good reviews. My coworkers and I took the walk under the bridge and tried it for lunch. As you walk in you will notice an intense smell of urinal cakes. You can almost taste it. I asked "is it just me guys, or does this place smell like urinal cakes?" Everyone agreed. Then we were greeted by gruff waitress who talked with an unwelcoming voice. She took our drink orders and brought us our drinks. Then told my buddy to stop playing with his coaster and put it down so she could set his glass on it. (she was not joking) It was strange and also, unwelcoming. We ordered the burgers. Which I guess were that days lunch special. 5 bucks for burgers and fries. The burgers were on the cheapest rainbow bread buns with a slice of generic american cheese on the patty. It goes without saying the burgers were not good. They were, ok. They were edible. But not good. Not even worth $5.00. I wanted to say the price was good but then they hit us with $2.50 for some watered down coke with Ice to the top of the glass making it about 2oz of beverage. I love burgers and this was pretty sad. There was no trying. Its like they didn't care about their food. The atmosphere was ok. It appeared kind of clean, besides the smell. We stayed and talked for an hour. Stumbled over to this bar by accident last night and was thrilled to see a stage being set up for a live music show. Then the band starts. Wow! These guys were sooo good. If I remember correctly, their name was Simple Creation. They had a reggae style that reminded me of sublime/irration/slightly stoopid. They performed a Bob Marley medley & it was awesome! Happy to have found this place & hope to be able to see more great bands/musicians perform here in the future. FOOD QUALITY: With a solid menu that covers the spectrum of mouth-watering delicious menu items. Ingredients are of high quality and they pretty much have spot on execution. It's been a long time since I've had such a good meal with my beer. Appetizers: Upon trying Carnitas Fries, Spicy Panko Calamari, Buffalo Wings and Loaded Nachos, my favorites were the Fries and Calamari. Definitely recommend those two. Entree: Package Angus Burger- I have to say this is probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. Pulled BBQ Pork - wow, mouth-watering and cooked to perfection. Dessert: Pumpkin Cheesecake - Sweet, delicious with balanced texture of the fruit flavors and sugar. SERVICE: Service was impeccable as the staff was super friendly and attentive. As another review mentioned, they also have a decent beer selection, on tap as well is in bottles. The place has a great vibe and is much larger than I expected!
