St Vincent de Paul in Sumner Park offer a lot of second hand goods to fill a wardrobe as well as a home. Not only do they have a wide selection of womens, mens and childrens clothings, which are all in reasonable condition they also have homewares. The homewares here include an array of kitchen utensils, pots and pans, cupboards, tables and chairs, sofa's and even some beds and bedding. I have bought a few trinkets from here to decorate the house with. I love collecting old books and unique figurines. The staff who work unpaid for charity are clearly passionate about what they are doing. You can see in their kindness and service. I recommend coming every two weeks to check on anything new that's been donated. Also, feel free to get in contact with them to donate any pre-loved items.

They also hold community dinners and events, particularly for refugee and fresh migrant Muslim women and children to connect with people in their community and help them adapt to their new country. Overall, they do a lot of good in helping out a disenfranchised sector of the Muslim community.

I suggest reading up on the Sea Shepherd so you go there with some back ground information on their ideology and what their cause is. The ship tour was very good and informative. Our guide led a group of about ten of us up on the deck, in the bridge and down into the mess hall. You'll come to learn that the Sea Shepherd was founded by the same person who founded Green Peace. The devoted crew act as an eye on the seas, once you get out of territorial manned waters, the open sea is open to anyone and isn't policed in any way. They bring to light what some do to seals, whales, sharks, dolphins. It's really shocking and disturbing what happens behind closed doors. I was so happy to donate to the cause, these people are modern pirates for the Earth. What they do is challenging and sounds like a worthy cause. They are making a difference, and that's quite the beautiful thing as we only have one planet Earth to take care of and look after. Visiting the Sea Shepherd will really make you think twice about sustainability and the treatment of wildlife.
