This place is pretty good, however, it is hit or miss with the chefs. My wife and I have ordered quite a few different dishes from here and they never seem to taste exactly the same as the last time. Nothing has ever tasted bad here but sometimes certainly not as good as previous times. We have ordered almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. I've eaten the pad Thai, drunken noodle, lad na with pork, panang curry, and tom Kha soup. Every dish has so many layers of flavor with the right amount of heat and spices. Bangkok Kitchen USED to be a highly-highly recommended restaurant and probably the best Thai food in the area. That has changed drastically. The quality and flavor of the food has gone way down. I came here to order one of my go to dishes and WOW what a disgusting let down. I was so disappointed by the bland, flavorless and oil filled rice ever. I drove 15 minutes back to the restaurant! Upon arriving, I spoke to who seemed to be the new owner. I let him know my issues and requested that the dish be remade. 2 minutes later a woman who seemed to be the (new) chef rushes out of the kitchen stating she made the dish I ordered (if disgusting garbage is food? Ok). I quickly requested a refund as I do not want a disgruntled chef in charge of my food. The owner then asked that I give the chef feedback...terrible idea! I kindly let them know that the dishes I'm used to ordering from them are full of flavor, color and spice! What I received was not that and I'd just like a correction. The chef went on to say they have changed their ingredients and if I wanted the old dish I should have requested it...there is no disclaimer on their menu that if you do not request your food to taste good and be cooked well, you are going to receive the laziest, most bland, disgusting dish. PLEASE do not waste your time here! They are under new management and it is blatantly obvious in their standards of quality for food and their customer service. I've been eyeing this restaurant since moving to the area and finally decided to give it a try. I ordered the drunken noodles with beef and beef/shrimp ka pow. Both dishes were decently good for the area, although the beef in the was a bit hard and chewy. However, I lost my appetite from finding not just one, but two (who knows, I probably swallowed some) small, black pieces of sharp plastic (?) mixed in my food. What could these be from? My partner and I both got a major craving for noodles and we've heard good things about Bangkok Kitchen so we decided to try it out on a snow day off of work. This place did not disappoint! I got the drunken noodles with beef and #1 mild spicy and my S/O got pad Thai with beef and #5 extra spicy, and we also got spring rolls. The spring rolls were warm and crispy with a delicious sauce, the drunken noodles (even at a #1 were prettty SPICY so if you're not a spicy fan get #0 and maybe even a different dish lol) my husband said his pad Thai at a level #5 some bites were not spicy and some were ridiculously hot so maybe give it a good mix. We can definitely confirm that their levels of spicy are very authentic. The portions are also a good size, not tiny but not massive either, slightly pricy for the portion size but so worth it. I've lived down the street for a couple of years and never tried this place. Overall the food was pretty good. Good spice to the drunken noodles, mango and sticky rice was good and even the albino Pad Thai was pretty tasty. I guess I've been missing out, so I'll add this place to my repertoire of restaurants. So you're telling me that the food that is served on the buffet line is subpar to the food that is served for take out? That just sounds dumb. I tried the lunch buffet soley on the strength of the Yelp reviews I was reading, and let me be the first to say....Nah!!!! This place just wasn't right, and the food at the buffet was far from appetizing. Heres my break down. *Out of 12 dishes. *8 were available *4 looked good. *Out of those 4, 2 were okay. When you walk in you are told to find a seat, and just began eating. My first trip to the buffet it wasn't even fully stocked. At least 4 dishes were fully missing and none of them were completely full. The food just looked like it had been sitting around. They never fully filled the buffet pans with food and It didn't look fresh. Even when I saw them refill a dish it looked old, and dry. The buffet is small, and placed in the smallest part of the restaurant. Today every dish was chicken based. Had I not been halfway hangry, and in a time crunch, I would not have eaten here. If I absolutely had to say one positive thing about this restaurant, I would say the spring rolls, and the fried wontons were very good, but then I would again remind you that I was there for the buffet. I ended up eating what I could tolerate, and definitely didn't leave with a full stomach. The staff didnt move much, and didnt really seem to car much about the condition of the buffet. They mainly sat behind the bar and talked, and every now and again one of the ladies would walk to the buffet, and then immediately back to the bar. At one point a party of 4 gentlemen came in, and when they got to the buffet I heard one say " Damn, wheres the buffet?" because of the lack of food available at the time. Overall it was just not good, and I was really disappointed. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone that I know, and just based on how bad the buffet was. I would not order takeout from this spot. Anyone saying that this is the best Thai food in the area must not travel far, and if you're really in the mood for good Thai Food in the area I'd recommend you drive maybe 8 minutes down the road to "Little Spice" on Dorsey Rd in Hanover, MD. I used to get take out from here quite often, but it's been awhile. My husband picked up some BK the other night and we were very surprised by the food-- and not in a good way! First, he said it seemed like all new people were running the place. He didn't notice any familiar faces... Spoke with another fellow Yelper and she agreed that there must be new owners. My usual order of Drunken Noodles with chicken was a major letdown. It's usually pretty spicy and has Thai basil mixed in. This version was extremely mild and had no Thai basil-- big disappointment. The sauce that accompanied our Spring Rolls was also terrible... no flavor at all! The Thai iced tea also looked... strange? I love this place. I just started eating here and I wish I had come sooner. Outside it looks like the rest of the area, slightly uninviting, but inside it looks like they're remodeling and it is turning out quite nice. The food is great. I've had the drunken noodles, and as everyone says, they're wonderful. I had the satay as well, generous portions and good quality. The red curry was ok, I little "fishy" for my taste, could maybe do with a little more creaminess. The fried rice was also very good. All the portions are large, great value. The service is very good. I've always done pick-up only but the staff is friendly and warm. The manager/owner is also very nice and very accommodating. I had a problem placing my order by the phone so I reached out through Facebook and he personally called me and saw to it my order was made in a timely manner. I will definitely be back. read more

I was courteous and mentioned to the owner that the dish was off. In fact I ate there two days in a row hoping that the day prior was a bad day. I just don't have anything bad to say about it. I've visited this restaurant numerous times for various occasions since 2010 as we lived on base. The food is def delicious and the buffet you can't beat that price anywhere in the Fort Meade area. So we moved in 2014 to Balto county and each opportunity I get I eat here! At this point, it's a staple in my history. Reminds me when we were a new family on Meade, memories of me and my coworkers eating here, or the hubs and I meeting up for a quick lunch together. Like I said I've been here a lot. The dark decor or shabby look didn't deter me but rather the politeness and home cooked food drew me in. I recently, was there a week ago and I felt like perhaps they were under new mgmt. There were new faces, updated decor & actual lights to see your food . I had my children with me. We had the usual as the buffet menu hasn't changed in years. We don't have much time to savor the meal but it was delicious! We don't do buffets these days since we are generally full after one plate. However, this buffet makes you want to eat a second egg roll or serving of their spicy pork over rice! I've been here a few times during lunch to have their a la carte selections and buffet. I am not a big fan of buffets...unless it's a Vegas buffet. But I can say that Bangkok Kitchen's buffet dishes surprised me. The ka prao moo (pork and Thai basil), eggplant and pork coconut curry, pad woon sen (stir fried glass noodles) are spot on. They don't change up the selections that much, so if you happen to like something, you can rest assured that you'll find on your next visit. They don't have the best tasting of the typical Thai restaurant suspects, like pad thai or drunken noodles...but it's not horrible either. I do love all their Thai condiments though, especially those pickled peppers in vinegar and fish sauce! The service is always courteous too! This is the place to go if you are in the area and are craving for the typical "Americanized" Thai dishes. I went with my husband and my daughter since this place is near our house. We ordered the crispy pork belly fried rice, the Phuket Chicken and Pad thai. My daughter also order the egg soup. The Phuket Chicken was pretty good, decent flavor and crispiness; however, we were told that it would be spicy and it was definitely sweet, not spicy. My husband had to put the chili powder on it to spice it up, which is irritating bc it changes the texture. My fried rice was decent, good texture and substance, but a bit bland. The pad thai was pad thai. My daughter's soup tasted really good, but she ended up with a piece of actual metal brillo pad in her mouth and was so freaked out that she didn't want to eat anything else.
