Stopped by in hopes of finding my go-to place for good Thai food. This is not the place, sadly. I got the shrimp pad Thai and the tom ga soup. Neither were very good. The soup was the most disappointing. Service was nice, and fast. Ambiance was typical and as expected. The food itself was average for the metro area. Coming from Washington DC, I am really looking for solid Asian cuisine, and I'm just not finding it. The search continues...

Wanted to try a new place with happy hour specials and we found this gem. Was a little concerned when we were the only ones there but it started filling up shortly after got there. Their happy hour specials for the drinks were nice $5.95 margaritas but the small bites were ok. You saved a dollar. Forgot to take photos but the mango mojito were really good not too sweet or minty. We also got spicy crunchy salmon roll salmon sashimi and salmon atami (soy paper) roll. Which was AMAZING. Brought home Thai fried rice and crab ragoons for my husband. He said it was tasty even a few hours later after he got home from work. Service was pleasant and atmosphere was good. Will definitely be ok with going back.

Great food and excellent service. We shared teriyaki chicken with a side of fried rice and chicken with tiger sauce. Served pipping hot and tasty. Generous portions. Full bar as well. LaLa was a super host as always.

One of the best Thai restaurants in the capital district. The restaurant is fairly new, my go to Thai restaurant went out of business during COVID. The restaurant is spacious with extremely fast service. Make sure you make up your mind before you finalize your order as the order goes thru instantaneously, my son decided to change his mind 2 mins into the order but they were already cooking on the one we place initially. Overall, great food, good ambience and fast & friendly service. Been there around 5 to es by now, will go there again. Prefer going there for the lunch deals. Note that the lunch menu comes with rice even for noodles if placed online. I have asked them to fix it, and they never do!!

It's a cute place. It's clean and spacious. Food: my family says it was PRETTY GOOD! 1: chicken wings - too plain 2: chicken pad Thai - it's not the normal pad-Thai I'm used to. It's too gravy 3. Rocky Shrimp - pretty good. It's similar to the Chinese Walnut Shrimp 4. Chicken Red Curry - not bad Service: they were very nice and friendly but since there were only 2 people serving, ours didn't really come back after I placed my order....he was busy cleaning, serving others etc....

This place is a fusion of Thai and Japanese food for the average white person. This is not authentic Thai or Japanese. In what universe is this drunken noodles? Highly disappointed. Will not be back

It's a good place. Food is tasty. Not 100% authentic style, but good enough, for sure. Hot pot, drunken noodles, and they have great Chardonnay. We are from NYC and LI, so we know great Thai food. For Albany, this is very good.

Tamarind Thai in Latham is one of my favorite Thai restaurants!…read more There are several dishes that are already "accidentally vegan" meaning it is a plant-based meal that doesn't include any animal products like eggs, butter, dairy milk, seasoning or sauces made from seafood or mollusks. Their curry dishes are all accidentally vegan, and you can keep them vegan when you add a protein by choosing either steamed or fried tofu. The staff is so polite and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the dishes and can help you customize your meals if you are vegan, vegetarian, gluten intolerant, or have any other food sensitivities. On this visit they were decorated for the holidays. Beautiful red, silver, and white balls hung from the ceiling, string lights, pine garland, and a flocked Christmas tree in the front window all made the restaurant cozy and inviting. I had the curry fried rice with spring rolls and unsweetened iced tea and my husband had the hot vegetables entree with white rice and a side of sticky rice.

Many people get take out from here which I will admit, we have done twice but we really enjoy dining in at the restaurant because it's fun. The staff is really nice and extremely helpful. When we say vegan they know what we mean which is difficult sometimes because a lot of people have misconceptions about what that entails. You have to think about what ingredients the noodles were made with, do they contain egg or not. What sauces are traditionally used, is it a fish sauce? Is something cooked with butter? So just saying no meat, eggs, or dairy doesn't always make people think about everything but this restaurant gets it. Also people ask well what about gluten? It has nothing to do with being vegan it is related to having celiac disease. Bottom line, if you have food allergies or sensitivities, they know what is in their food and they will tell you or offer suggestions to help you out. The spring rolls, the gyoza, the crazy noodle (drunken noodle), curry rice, fresh rolls, all of it has been good everytime we go. This review is long overdue, Tamarind is just so good if you need vegan or vegetarian options they have a lot of plant-based menu items. The unsweetened iced tea, that's my jam! Love it!

Great lunch today with my daughter. Food (lunch specials)…read morewas five stars plus. Service was five stars. Always searching for good Thai food, and this small restaurant did not disappoint. Not only does it have excellent Thai food, it also has one page of their menu offering Korean choices. There are separate lunch and dinner menus. Both menus are easy to navigate and clearly written. Their menus state designated spicy dishes can be modified on a scale of 1 to 5. There are numerous lunch specials offered. They come with miso soup or green salad. The waitress (owner?) was friendly, helpful, and attentive. We started with Spring Rolls and tea. Tea bags were placed in large mugs. I would have preferred a pot of brewed tea and small handleless cups offered at a few other places. We ordered lunch specials: Drunken Noodles with Tofu and Pang Kamee with Chicken. The soup broth was flavorful but could have had more tofu pieces. The Spring Rolls were average. My Pang Kamee was seasoned perfectly. Very tasty, it was seasoned nicely with spices, but not hot. I liked the perfectly cooked wide noodles and thinly sliced carrots. The chicken was moist and tender. The Drunken Noodles was also enjoyed by my daughter. What was exceptional about it was the Tofu! There were large pieces of tofu that were sautéed or grilled slightly. Delicious! Best tofu she has eaten in a long time. Our portions were generous, and both meals were finished because they were tasty. The restaurant has nine uncrowded tables and does a lot of takeout. Located in a small strip mall near Colonie Center, it has a parking lot behind the restaurant. We want to return and try other Thai dishes, and try the Korean food.

It's an ideal place to swing by for takeout or enjoy a casual meal with one or two friends. From what I ordered, I especially enjoyed the Fresh Roll and the Thai Fried Rice Dinner (Beef) - both flavorful and satisfying. I also tried the Veggie Gyoza, which was tasty, although it's not something I usually order when visiting a Thai restaurant. Still, it was well-prepared. What stands out is the friendly staff and the fact that they encourage you to order directly from them rather than using third-party apps like Grubhub - it's more affordable that way, and you're supporting them directly. ------------------------------------------------------ What I ordered: - Fresh Roll - Vegetable Gyoza - Thai Fried Rice Dinner (Beef)

The Clifton Park location is possibly a little bit closer to home than Latham, but every time we drive by the Clifton Park restaurant my wife will comment on how it doesn't look busy or inviting. The "inviting" concern is because it always looks so bright inside no matter the time of day. We'd also comment that it might be better for a lunch than for dinner. I guess she had a craving for Thai on a Saturday evening because she suggested trying out the Clifton Park location and it was already after 5pm. As per usual, it was brightly lit inside and there were only two other tables with customers. There was also a Mealeo driver waiting to pick up a delivery order. We were politely seated and provided with menus and glasses of water. Right away, I noticed that my wife's menu looked different from mine. Hers had white stickers covering several items. We checked with the waitress, and she confirmed our suspicion that the covered items were no longer available. She asked if I would like a different menu since nothing was covered on mine. Rather than being tempted to order something that I would later learn was not available, I agreed to having an updated menu. Initially, I thought I had received another outdated menu, but the waitress pointed out their attempt to use a magic marker on the plastic coated menu was not successful; you could still see all of the items on the menu. With all the awkward stuff out of the way, I ordered a Thai Iced Tea ($5) while we studied the menus. Maybe because I hadn't had one in a long time, it tasted extra good. Great flavor, and it was not too sweet. The Curry Puff ($9.95) appetizer caught the attention of us both, so we ordered the vegetarian version with potatoes, onions, peas, carrots, and curry powder inside a house made pastry with sweet and sour sauce and cucumber sauce on the side. They looked like little empanadas and tasted delicious, especially with some of the tamarind sauce. Unfortunately, our Curry entrées were brought to the table about a minute after the Curry Puffs. Fortunately, we were able to quickly devour the three puffs before our entrées had a chance to cool. My wife's Green Curry with tofu ($16.95) was served mild, as requested, and was quite delicious. There was just enough spice to recognize that some of it was in there. I ordered the Kabocha Pumpkin Curry with a combination of shrimp, beef, and chicken ($19.95) with medium spicing. The blend of flavors was outstanding. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and both the beef and chicken were tender. The spicing let you know right away that it was there, but it was not overpowering. It began to fade just as you were ready for your next spoonful. Both of our curries were served with heart-shaped molds of white rice. Had we noticed that the menu also offered brown rice we would have chosen that instead of the white rice. Apparently, they do a good takeout business. During the time we were there we observed an almost constant stream of customers or delivery drivers picking up packages to go. I'm certain we will return for more good food and friendly service.

Ever been to Thailand? Well, I have! If you don't feel like flying halfway across the world for…read moresome authentic Thai cuisine, I highly suggest visiting Pad Thai Noodle. Green curry? Check! We ordered mild for the more spice resistant of the two of us (with sides of chili paste and powder for yours truly). Flavors were spot on-served piping hot (temperature) in very generous portions. Drunken noodle? Check! These rice noodles are not as broad as some other local Thai places but again-a very large portion with a perfect balance of savory, salty and sweet (also ordered mild for this first visit). Absolutely delicious....oh how I love the gumminess of a good rice noodle. The summer rolls were also great. We tried them with crab instead of our usual choice of shrimp (avocado was also an option). They're served with a peanut sprinkled hoisin sauce and a second peanut sauce. Again-nice sized portion with super fresh ingredients. Almost forgot-we did try a salmon avocado roll to sample the sushi-it was also great. But we wanted to focus on the Thai options. Not pictured but tasted (bc I dove in and scarfed without pausing for photos!): -Larb salmon: I've only had chicken and vegetarian versions of Larb (sometimes spelled Lahb); the salmon (raw) was one of the best things I've tried in a while. The red onions, scallions, rice powder, vinegar, chilies and fish sauce make this the ultimate umami experience that I can't wait to have again. -mango sticky rice: perfection. Ripe mango cut into cubes with sticky, sweet (and slightly crunchy) rice drenched in coconut milk sauce. I'm drooling as I write this. In case you don't now, the original version of this family owned and run restaurant had a terrible explosion/fire and underwent renovations last year. They took over the space next door and expanded the dining room area. It's light, bright and welcoming. Service was awesome-friendly and super fast. The menu is also extensive. I was initially overwhelmed by the choices so we stuck to the basics. Can't wait to go back and try more!
