    The Flats at 84 - 3-Bed Westminster (#244) - Kitchen

    The Flats at 84

The staff was unresponsive, rude, and unprofessional. Multiple people in the building smoke…read moremarijuana inside their apartments and it could be smelled inside our own apartment and in the halls. The walls are thin and you can hear every ding of the elevator, talking, laughing, drunk behavior, etc. The property sent out a supposedly anonymous survey and we filled it out. It was NOT anonymous. The office staff assistant manager called me wanting details and she cornered me while I payed the rent and grilled me. It was weird. I was accused of doing marijuana by an office staff member--even though I told them about smelling it in the halls coming from particular apartments. We payed the rent and terminated the lease, and moved out (even though rent was payed up until lease was done). Life is too short to live in this place. By the way, upon moving in, the apartment was filthy. The bathroom had urine in the toilet, no shower head, clogged sinks and tub, the toilet did not flush, the dishwasher was filthy, and there were dirty clothes on the floor next to the washer. Maintenance fixed the clogs and installed a new shower head. We deep cleaned the unit, but the A/C/heater combo wall unit was not used because of overpowering cat urine smell when turned on. We told the Leasing Office it really needed to be replaced. We were told it was an expensive unit and if we had a longer lease they would consider it. The wall a/c/heater needs to be properly caulked due to severe drafts. The bathroom sink smelled like mold and silverfish were found in the bathroom around the sink unit. The paint in the hallways are not finished and there is mismatched paint inside the unit touch-ups. Most units smell like animal kennels. Also, the bathroom doorknob fell off almost locking me inside and when the heater was turned on it burned and stunk like cat urine so bad it set off the fire alarm! The kitchen did not have GFCI outlets around the sink and is a miracle no one has been electrocuted. We could have been electrocuted. Period. Full stop. This is extremely serious! There was dog urine frequently in the elevators and it smelled really bad around the entry doors from lazy dog owners letting their animals urinate right outside the doors. This review is not an exaggeration. We are not bitter--we received our full deposit back. That being said, a potential renter deserves to know an honest perspective before signing a lease and CIP deserves to know how their business functions--or does not. If you check this place out, look at the details! The Flats on 84th looks good from the car window, but it is not recommended. What is recommended is to avoid this place. The staff can not and will not deal with any conflicts. They are incapable And that includes CIP. UPDATE: As property owners (who just needed a short term lease 3 months) we are more knowledgable than most first-time renters. We were told via email today 12/11/24 (they do not return phone calls probably because of legal) that what we saw and experienced did not happen. Unbelievable. Please use caution with this company. *** TO HANNAH: We do not live at The Flats. The remainder of our lease was paid and we moved out. There is nothing to work out. Before we moved out, we contacted CIP and they were unresponsive. Also Hannah, you should be thanking us for telling your staff about the NON GFCI outlets around the kitchen sink. Someone could have died from electrocution and still can if it is not fixed. Really, someone could die from this error.

They have the building entrances and sidewalks salted and prepped for the weather! While it is snowing, the trucks are out plowing to ensure safe driving within the complex! Very impressed!
