Fast and efficient call, got to know a lot that was never tough by my mortgage company.

I've been a fully cooperative policyholder throughout this claims process (filed 6/26/26), and Bamboo Insurance / Accredited Specialty Insurance Company has repaid that cooperation with months of stonewalling. I filed a claim in good faith from an issue that arose with my house. Instead of a timely, straightforward review, the claim was handed to their Special Investigations Unit and I received a Reservation of Rights letter listing a disputed date of loss and leaning on an unrelated pre-purchase inspection report to suggest the damage was "pre-existing." I'm a first time home owner and my understanding is if you see a big enough issue, file a claim which is exactly what I did. I have provided everything requested: documentation, records, cooperation at every step and I am still waiting on a decision. This is well beyond what should be a reasonable timeframe. This is not how a company should treat a paying customer during one of the most stressful moments of homeownership: an active property loss. If you're shopping for homeowners insurance, know that a clean claim history and full cooperation on your end does not guarantee a timely or fair process here. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this insurer to look elsewhere, and I'd encourage current policyholders in a dispute to involve an attorney or public adjuster early. Don't expect this company to move quickly or fairly on its own. read more

Run. You can't even get a hold of a human. The wait time is ZERO minutes with ZERO clients ahead of me and I've been on hold for 29 minutes now. The portal sucks and there is no updated information there. No one responds to emails. Never again. Spend a bit more and get a reputable company who cares about their customers. read more

I received a comment from this company. There's nothing they could do to fix this. The damage is done. Stay away from these people. I switched to Bamboo Insurance because the premium looked competitive, but my experience has been a mess, and I would urge anyone considering them to proceed very carefully. The biggest issue is that you have to stay on top of them constantly. In my case, my mortgage company sent Bamboo the payment for my homeowners insurance. Bamboo's lockbox cashed the check, but Bamboo still turned around and tried to cancel my policy for nonpayment. They sent notice to my mortgage company, which then started sending me letters saying my home was uninsured and warning that they would force-place insurance at nearly triple the cost. After a huge amount of back-and-forth, it was discovered that Bamboo had already cashed the payment from my mortgage company. Despite that, I was still threatened with cancellation unless I paid a portion of the premium out of pocket just to keep the policy active while they sorted out their own mistake. Then, to make matters worse, Bamboo sent me a reinstatement letter and charged me a $10 reinstatement fee for a problem they created. Yes, the pricing may look good upfront, but in my experience, the savings are not worth the stress, confusion, and risk of having your homeowners policy wrongfully canceled. If you go with Bamboo, watch every notice, open every piece of mail, and stay on top of your mortgage company and Bamboo at all times. If you have the option to pay a little more for a company with better service and fewer billing issues, I would strongly recommend doing that. I'm already stuck with them for now, but if this review helps someone else avoid the same nightmare, it's worth posting. read more

We used Bamboo for our home insurance. For almost two years we've had no issue, but suddenly, because our pool is a little green after weather, our insurance is being canceled for the entire house. Not empty, not leaking, nothing wrong with it, just an algae bloom - boom, cancelled. No warning. No "Hey, we saw this happened, please fix before we have to cancel." Save your money, and give it to an agency that isn't going to randomly cancel your policy with no warning. And no, Bam B., I'm not interested in an apology or to have you "reach out." You wanted to cancel, we'll find other coverage. read more

trying to get help with anything with this company is very frustrating. Just a simple issue like getting a quote or asking a question. I was referred to four different people for an answer who can barely speak English or simply don't help . Waiting online at the recording said there were 75 people ahead of me!I would never use this company again. I had them for two years. read more

This may seem like a reasonably priced insurance company until you need them. I'm on month three of a claim with no guidance or response be it phone or email. they use an outside service for claims and step away. You will get no support. What needs to be done is completely ignored and they will re-write costing which will not pay for the actual repairs. Once you provide what the actual cost will be through endless estimates and down time the claim representative simply denies it. read more

Again, they said they would contact me. And never heard from them. Not only did they make me wait months to hear from them. They now write on a review that they would contact me. I will be looking for a real insurance company read more

Bamboo insurance is the worst ever. Wish there was a "0 star" option here. Our neighbor's redwood tree fell on our home early in December. It caused significant damage to the roof. They had this lousy insurance and they filed a claimed with them. I provided their insurance the pictures before and after trimming. The tree was not ever trimmed by them since 2016 that they moved in. An obvious case of "neglect". The claim adjuster would not respond to emails and voicemails. I even emailed their claims department, no response. After almost three months, today we got a response today that the case was denied. Basically, nothing but scam. Please don't get an insurance from this company just because their premiums are low. You are basically uncovered and bare if there is any incident. They will not pay our a penny. Please read all other reviews too. Pretty much everyone has had similar experience. read more

Fabulous service and reasonable pricing. Easy customer portal to use for payments. Attentive and quick phone responses.

They will write you up a policy at the best price to satisfy your loan company. But to talk to a rep is sometimes hard. And I've heard so many bad stories online of claims being minimized, denied or worse. So if it's just to have a policy, it's great. But don't count on them helping your claim much or at all. read more

Was not positive. One woman hung up on me. You changed your policy numbers and I couldn't match up what the renewal policies were for what property. Almost in tears. You may be avoiding fraud but you are also making it very difficult for me to know what policy is for what property. Not very personal service although the first gentleman I talked to was helpful. After that it was all downhill. Not happy with Bamboo at all. I have a number of properties and it got very confusing. read more

This is the absolute worst insurance company I've ever dealt with. They allowed my California Fair plan insurance lapse more than once - trying to get an email response is like getting a response from a houseplant. When they do respond, expect a high level of unprofessionalism. They are an unorganized mess. Because of their ineptitude and laziness, I was being overcharged on my policy. I went to another broker who applied standard discounts to my policy which saved me about 15%. Don't walk away from these folks, run. read more

I truly wish I had read these reviews before I agreed to a policy with this company. They are great if you don't have to file a claim; otherwise you will be miserable. I will not say much more as this is probably heading to litigation. read more

This company is trash - Literally zero concern for hardship or what our family is going through. They under estimate all costs reimbursing at costs that are too low to get anything done. They will say "our expert" disagrees with your contractors estimate but provide no additional detail. They will not get on the phone and will leave you hanging. Run far away from this company. My first clue was filing a claim... person was rude and at the end of the call they said "again I want to reiterate, we are so sorry for what you are going through".... I was like "you never said that in the first place" that about sums it up. they could not care less what you are going through or the hardship you have, they make it impossible to communicate or get anything done. Their adjustor just straight up missed things in our claim and honestly had no clue what he was doing. We had our contractor there the whole time the adjustor was there to make sure he was not trying to screw us... For example we had a 4 or 5 panel glass shower door in a custom shower... easily a couple of grand in glass... they estimated $500 for a shower door. you can't even get a shower door for $500 at home depot. Another clue... When I asked if they would cover a hotel for when Asbestos was being removed... my claims person said basically NO... and we should get a microwave and plug our fridge in in another room... even though they are removing asbestos and we wont have access to our kitchen. Its crazy.... the claims department does everything they can to avoid you... read more

I had a homeowners policy with Bamboo. I found a better deal 2 months prior to renewal, and cancelled my policy. My mortgage company paid both policies in error. bamboo sent my check to the wrong address. They had my correct mailing address on file prior to cancellation. They told me that although it's their error, I have to wait 30 business days before I can call back and request ANOTHER check. They can make no exceptions. What a great process in the electronic age! read more

NO STARS!! Just like this company.... I am not gonna leave a full review at the moment, but here is my opinion thus far due to our families' current experience: This company doesn't care about their clients and is just in it to charge you monthly for a policy. THEN, when you actually come to experience an issue that needs to be repaired, they sit on their thumbs and play phone tag or dodge the calls. We have been experiencing a problem that originally began in late 2023 but has still not been resolved & due to lack of promptly handling the claim, more damage has occurred since the initial report. I will return for a follow-up once everything is said & done for a complete review, but that could be a year from now since I'm on BAMBOO time & will not be updating until the claim has finalized. My current advice is that if you have other options: GO WITH THOSE!!! read more

This review is on Bamboo Insurance Company I had a claim back on 5/10/24, from a broken water pipe at my master bathroom that caused extensive damage, to the amount of $20,000+ of which the claim was denied 3 times, even after the licensed professional companies did all their due diligence and hard work showing the damage and that it was a legitimate claim. I fought Bamboo Insurance to pay the contractors and to reimburse me for all the materials and supplies that I paid for to save money on the repairs needed and to make sure that all the supplies and materials were available and onsite for the contractors to do their work. Almost to the day, 6 months later I'm receiving checks for the repairs from Bamboo Insurance showing that not only did I have a leg ligament claim, but they purposefully paid well after I paid everything myself, and they paid about 45% of what I had to pay out of my pocket. They said according to their schedule and calculations that's was the fair price & they weren't going to pay anymore. Not only did I shop the all the supplies needed and contractors to save money, time and to get qualified licensed professionals to do the work, I personally spent dozens of hours and hundreds of dollars on gas to oversee and manage the work so all would get done properly and quickly. Unfortunately I had to serve Bamboo Insurance to go to small claims court, just for them to offer me a settlement, but they low balled me and wanted me to sign a non disclosure agreement to make me go away and so I wouldn't tell or go on social media and expose them for their poor business practices. I contacted the Better Business Bureau website and spoke to a representative, and this is what I read and was tol, in the last 3 years they have had 32 written complaints of which only 11 have been resolved, but only in the past 12 months and some haven't even been addressed. I also contacted the Utah Insurance Department and they also confirmed that Bamboo Insurance has had numerous complaints. I highly recommend no one do business with them. It's very unfortunate that it takes a lawsuit for them to even readdress my claim and then their manager tells me that he's sorry that this even got this far and you're entitled to more money as he low balled me and wasn't even willing to give me any money for the dozens of hours I spent on this. Just getting the repairs done and then all the emails phone calls to get reimburse, then all the hours invested to take them to court and now all the time I have spent researched Bamboo Insurance's history of doing business. Unfortunately this seems to be one of the only roads I had to take to get justice. My hopes are that they lose business and customers because of how they have treated me and many others, and that they would become a better company with integrity, accountability, and good customer service. Think about how many people I actually represent that didn't file a complaint or a lawsuit? Please do your own research on this and other on other insurance companies to make sure you get an honest and fair company when you need them. read more

We had a water leak that ruined our floors in one room. Unfortunately, we cant find matching flooring for the entire first floor. The process to get it spproved is truly arduous.
