I pulled in the parking lot, and was shocked to see a pink building. We're not talking pastel pink, we're talking BRIGHT pink. I walk in the door, and it literally looks like a junk shop. There is all kinds of stuff laying everywhere. I had an appointment with Rose, and I was pleasantly surprised to see a younger woman cutting hair. I believe the average age of a customer at Carabel's is around 63. They have the old drying chairs, women in curlers, etc. However, Rose did an excellent job with my hair. She took her time and made sure I was happy. All in all, the haircut cost me about 12 dollars, including tip. I couldn't recommend her services enough if I tried! Right now Kathleen is located in the Sola location in Rocky River, though she is soon hoping to venture into the world of entrepreneurship. I know her business will be a success; her work truly speaks for itself. Kathleen took such time and care hand-painting in my highlights. She has such precision and is able to create an effect of "sun kissed" that is so natural that it is almost hard to distinguish from natural hair! It is absolutely amazing the ways in which she is able to blend and accentuate the hair to give you the perfect "just got home from a month on an exotic island" highlight. The stylist who attended to me was not the usual one, and she left my hair completely blonde!! It was like I went from being a brunette to Shakira overnight! I would never in my life ask for that kind of artificial and overdone blonde, and even less without consulting me. Also , during the process, before I realized the mistake, the stylist after two hours told me she didn't have time to cut or style my hair and that I would have to come back another day What ??? She left the dye on my hair for almost THREE HOURS, which I'm sure didn't help the situation. I was starting to get worried as the time went by, but I trusted that she knew what she was doing. Boy, was I wrong. When she finally rinsed out the dye, my hair was completely ruined. When the other stylists realized the damage, they tried to fix the mistake with a toner, but the result was .... OMG : now my hair looks gray It's unbelievable that they couldn't get it right in the first place, and their "solution" was even worse . I've been a client for three/four years and I never imagined I'd receive treatment like this. The lack of recognition and condescending attitude of the staff was what bothered me the most. They said, "This is the color we always do for you," acting like it was true. There was no "Sorry, we made a mistake".They acted like I was crazy and it was all just a fabrication!! Needless to say, I left without paying. Now I'll have to go to another salon to try to fix this mess. I have photos of my hair before, during, and after the disaster, so I can prove the evidence . I don't recommend this salon to anyone. The lack of professionalism and the staff's attitude is unacceptable. Look elsewhere for your hair needs.
