And in that time, I can honestly say they've never delivered anything less than good quality food. Although their menu is possibly not quite as extensive or exotic as others, I've found Shabaz to be the most consistent in producing very good quality curries. If you have a favourite dish, you know that dish will be of the same standard every time you order - that can't always be said for other local takeaways, which can be a bit hit-and-miss. Since its not on the main road, its not always busy, making it easy and more convinient. But what makes this place not a top favourite is the food. It's good for that little lane but not good enough to compare with places like Kebabish around. It's got fairly good kebabs and the seekh kebab in particular is good. Going in on a Sunday night 7pm the telephone was constantly ringing and to me that is a good sign assuming they are all customers. First off all I can say is that the portion sizes are really good for the price ! My order ( I'd try to throw a few curve balls in there for my first trip ) Chicken Tikka Kharai - cooked very well and really nice to actually see and taste real flavour and spices in there - a moderate heat but nothing dangerously hot Mushroom Pilau Rice - boiled basmati rice with fried onions and sautéed mushroom slices - was tasty but mushrooms very slimy and greasy but taste was good ! The rice had a yellow colouring in ! Vegetable mixed starter - despite the name came with a samosa, two small onion bhajis and two pieces of wait for it chicken tikka - I a veg mixer starter - but it is listed in the menu with meat so at least vegetarians would know ! Also ordered was an off menu item of chips with a smothering of korma sauce instead of just a 'curry' sauce - korma sauce was nice and chips nice and crispy outer with fluffy inner despite being frozen before my order ! Also ordered was a child's meal of lamb curry and chips again nice chips and lamb sauce was delicious - it looked and tasted as if it was from the Main curry stock ! And easy to fill you for a quick light tea at £3.00 !! And that was with the chips ! We also got some poppadoms and chutneys etc thrown in For free . I would happily go back and work through the menu and it would take me a while it's pretty big ! Not five stars as when all tin foil containers were opened there was a lot of standing oil on the top so it was soaked up with tissues before serving ! But decided to have a go based on reviews on the site. My usual starter of lamb chops £3.50 was made up of 3 really skinny bones with meat well marinated and the result is yummy. Mains : Pilau rice, Balti Jalli Bhuna with chicken and Vindaloo with lamb. Rice authentic with colours, fluffy and greasiness acceptable. Balti chicken cooked nice and juice with the sauce smooth and visible fresh chopped herbs in it. I found it to be on the sour side. Maybe just me! And finally the vindaloo. WOW! These guys really pack the heat in! I could barely taste the balti after having some of the lamb vindy. Meats were ok but again I felt the sauce was too sour for my tastes. On the plus side the delivery service is fast n driver very pleasant. Not to mention it being slightly cheaper. Will be back for Round 2!

Ladies and gents, I think we have a half-decent Chinese right here in Sale *short happy dance*…read more At a loss what to have on Saturday night it was a case of perusing through the menus everyone gets thrust through their letterboxes and I saw Lucky Wok's. Checked Yelp and saw it'd been a few years since the last review, so looked at Just Eat and saw they had a lot of positive feedback so gave them a whirl. The order was taken with minimal fuss and I was told it'd be a 30-45 minute wait which is pretty standard. It arrived just over half an hour later and it was all still piping hot. The Seaweed Combination Starter (BBQ rib, sesame prawn toast, spring roll, samosa, crispy won ton, seaweed and sweet & soup dip) was well presented and all tasted delicious - the only comment was that the samosa was a bit of a strange inclusion. For the main it was Chicken Szechuan with egg fried rice, which had plenty of chicken and the sauce was just the right level of spiciness for me (i.e. not very). The portion size is generous so there's another meal of leftovers now in the fridge. There are also a few Thai dishes on the menu which I'll try next time. Tip: they only accept cash payments. Tip: they're closed on Tuesdays but otherwise open 16:30 to 23:00 Wednesdays to Mondays.

As such, the delivery service offered is integral in bringing the bags of egg fried rice, stir fried mixed veg with cashews, spring rolls and prawn crackers along with a few other standard dishes fresh and hot to my door. Actually, the food was average, but let's face it, most takeaways are aren't they? It was freshly cooked though, still hot when it arrived, and came with a handful of fortune cookies chucked in the box too. Can't say fairer than that.
