It costs $4 for a regular load of washing, and $1.50 per 10mins in the dryer - useful knowledge for winter. The man who runs the Laundromat couldn't be nicer, and was very happy for me to leave the machine running and come back in half an hour when it was done. So, I popped across the road, got a great coffee and croissant from Pyrenees, and sat reading my book in rocket park for half an hour! So much nicer than being cooped up in a Laundromat watching a machine spin. There's parking on road right by the entrance, which is ideal when lugging laundry to and fro. Seriously, we are now reevaluating whether we should even be in a hurry to buy a new washing machine now....

Though pretty small, they offer the full range of laundry services including dry cleaning, and can have your garments washed, dried and FOLDED for your collection within a few hours. What more could you ask for? The owner/operator is a friendly older gentleman who is happy to help out and always give you a realistic time of when your items will be ready. The Rocket Park Laundromat is also incredibly reasonably priced. In the winter we take our laundry down already washed, and to get two loads dried and folded it only costs about $10! Well worth it! Tip: The Rocket Park Laundromat is open til around 6pm each night, so don't worry if you drop it off on your way to work, it will still be open for you to pick your garments up in the evening!

For me this is a big bonus as the last time I folded a shirt I ended up ripping off one of the arms. They only take cash which can be a bit annoying but there is an ATM just up the road. The shop itself is pretty sparse. To call it grim would be mean, but to call it stylish or fun would be a lie. I don't know. I think it's probably fine for a Laundromat to be a bit utilitarian; it is, after all, just a utility. It's not like you come here to hang out. The only appeal is that you can wash your clothes, and if you come here you can wash your clothes. I thought it was pretty cheap, but having only been to this one Laundromat I don't really have anything to judge it by. Overall this is a fine Laundromat but like any Laundromat, it's inevitably inferior to owning your own washing machine.

Richmond Road Laundromat offers self-service machines as well as an in-house service and to be honest the cost isn't that different. Sometimes I'll wash items at home and just take them here to be dried. Linen, sheets, towels etc - knowing they can be dry and folded in under an hour makes me do a little dance on the inside. It's the small things, ya know! The service is friendly and polite, and it doesn't break the bank.

They fold and roll everything exactly how I need it. When I had a couple of hiccups, they didn't hesitate to help. They're genuinely lovely people. I highly recommend them--affordable and professional. The amount of time I save on linen for my neuromuscular and sports massage therapy business is an entire extra day of work--about two hours each day--which I can use for my business or myself.
