Very unprofessional operation.
I initially contacted this kennel 2 weeks ago, to care for my dog during midterm break. The owner requested his recent vaccination certs. which I totally appreciate, as I would not use a kennel that does not take this precaution. Our pug is fully vaccinated since birth and is a very much loved and cared for dog.
The owner advised that she was gong on holiday but that it was imperative that I email the vaccination cert. to her asap. in order to secure a place. She advised that she would not be checking her email regularly whilst on holiday but would respond at some point.
I therefore undertook this request asap, sending a receipt form my Vet with a list of most recent vaccinations & dates, which were not due again until May 2023. Everything was up to date.
Unfortunately the owner texted a few days later declining this doc. advising that only the vaccination book would suffice. I therefore texted this immediately which verified the most recent vaccinations for my pug.
Unfortunately the owner responded again a few days later advising that she would not accept this either, because there was a gap between 2020 and 2021. I explained to her that 2021 was issued in the form of a printout from the vet, which I sent immediately, advising that I could send all vaccination proof since birth if required.
Following this, a few days later and only a few days before we were due to go away, on a much deserved midterm trip with our children, the owner responded, falsely claiming that she had not received the last document, when clearly she had! She advised that the kennel was now full and she could not accept our dog!
She recommended other kennels, well aware, that at this last minute notification would now be full.
This owner was clearly stringing us along until the last minute, in case she didn't manage to fill kennel places with her regulars. It was an absolutely horrible thing to do to us, as my children were really looking forward to their short break in Northern Ireland.
On questioning her actions, she behaved extremely unprofessionally and complained about my texting her during her holiday, which was unusual because she had requested this & it was only due to her advising that the information sent would not suffice, that I was required to text her the additional information. It was also clear that she had been accepting bookings during her holidays, if all places were filled!
On advising that I would review her behaviour here, she became extremely agitated and insulting and accused me of having issues & that she had a narrow escape!
She also told me to disregard the other Kennel contact details that she had provided because she would be notifying them not to take my dog!
This was a very upsetting experience and has left my children very disappointed. I am shocked at the unprofessionalism of this person, however in a way I am glad it happened because I wouldn't want this person caring for our much loved family pet! read more
