History

Established in 2015.

Balloonyz began in 2015 when I, Lorena Marquez, was interested learning tricks and techniques about balloon decorating after first seeing an art piece featured in a Mexico City newspaper! I fell in love with this beautiful work of art I instantly knew that this is what I wanted to do to earn my income and help my family. Days after, I took a class in Mexico City taught by the amazing Gabby Paz. This further inspired me to continue learning, and taking classes by the best to master this art form that I am continuing to improve on.

Meet the Business Owner: Lorena M.

My name is Lorena I’m a balloon artist. I have atended several training conventions including, World Balloon Convention (2016, New Orleans, LA, and 2018 in San Diego CA), FLOAT (2022, Chicago, IL), Decolover Institute,Florida, and many more classes! When we began I was a stay at home mom raising my three kids. Thanks to the power of social media we have now expanded to working with all new different and loyal clients, whom we are so thankful. I earn my CBA Certified Balloon Artist at FLOAT 2022 in Chicago I am one of 75 artist selected to work for The Big Balloon Build in London this coming December 2023.

Before going to the store, I called and was quoted $1.25 per latex balloon, which was the main reason I decided to get my balloons there. However, after I paid and questioned why my total was much higher than expected, I was simply told that the $1.25 price was only a starting price. That was never mentioned during the phone call. If I had been given accurate pricing upfront, I would have chosen a different place. To make matters worse, the employees were rude, dismissive, and pushy when I tried to ask about the pricing. I wasn't trying to argue--I just wanted an explanation for why the price I was charged didn't match the quote I was given over the phone. I understand prices can vary, but customers deserve clear and honest communication before they spend their money. Unfortunately, the lack of transparency and poor customer service left me with a bad experience, and I won't be returning.
