I tried two hip hop (uber20) classes and found it to be very very simplistic, attracting a 30-50 crowd who seemed to be doing it for novelty value. The alternative was to take classes with pre-teens. Although one instructor was alright the other was quite hostile and unhelpful to me when I tried to ask her where else she taught (in the hopes that she taught a higher level class elsewhere). Just try to have a thick skin at times!

(Jan-Jul, Aug-Dec) So if you are in Dusseldorf for an extended period of time I recommend this dance school, however for someone like me who was looking for drop-in classes (like Pineapple Studios in London) it was not ideal. My first taster class went down fine, however when I returned the following week to try another proficiency level, they were very reluctant and told me that they don't let new people join so far into a new course (even though they weren't working on an extended choreo / building up to a performance).

The Cultuurhuis is a wonderful community center which features live music, theater productions,…read moredance classes and more. A cozy 80 seat music room has a great sound system and a bar which serves beer and wine. Upstairs is a 200 seat black box theatre with stage lighting and adjustable seating. The building itself is an old school, but a remodel in recent years has updated lighting, restrooms, and temperature control. Check the website for listings of performances and classes, or drop by and pick up a schedule!

Great place with very friendly people. The management is professional, and the receptionists so…read morenice. I had two teachers though. One was not helpful, the other one was great... These teachers are contractors and you never know what you're going to get. If you are not happy with your teacher, ask for a different one. The facility is beautiful and again, the staff that works there excellent.
