Five days ago I picked up my tax return. I was blindsided be an added charge of $150 for asking, as a retired person on SS, how much I could take out of my IRA without it effecting my SS. There is a formula and I was unclear how he explained it the previous year and I took out the wrong amount. I just wanted to be sure I didn't make the same mistake again in 2017. He told me and I said I would be moving (to another state) and just wanted to know how much I would have for that move. He pulled up a computer program and started reeling off numbers. I have no idea what he was talking about. He had answered my question. I am furious he charged me $150 for either a question that was part of my taxes or that I was charged for information I did not ask for. I am really not sure how he came to the conclusion I owed him an additional $150 for about 3 to 5 minutes of nothing relevant. He has not returned my calls. I will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB. . read more
