I was discriminated against because I have an American passport…read more Went in on Tuesday and met with a guy who was kind enough to explain all of the packages offered. I decided to contract for mobile phone service, home internet and home television. He indicated all would be good as long as I had my passport, proof of address and local bank info. The next day, I went in with a French speaking local to help with any questions. I had all of the documentation requested. I was denied a contract because I didn't have a local ID card and there was no exit date established. When I tried to explain and showed that I was issued a valid Visa by the French government, I was told that it didn't matter. This, sales person, different from the first guy, was rude as was her colleague. Both repeatedly made snarky comments about Americans. Aside from the fact she didn't seem to know what she was doing, she made absolutely no effort to help find a way around this issue. In the process she offended and lost her company a new long term client. I've secured this same type of service in Hong Kong, Switzerland and the US and I have never been treated with more disrespect and lack of willingness to help than was by this sales person and this company. Five minutes later, we walked down the street to a different mobile provider, SFR, and was met with a friendly, helpful and courteous sales person that had my business in a matter of minutes. I highly recommend avoiding Orange Mobile service providers.
