Yea! Yea! Veg, yea!…read more Great vegetarian and vegan food in the middle of cute Utrecht? Check! Loaded with ambiance and fun people surrounding you? Check! Good selection of sandwichs and also hot food (sausage role type of food). Very small selection of drinks. This is a very cut down operation. When they need to re-stock the shelves, there is typically no one there to take your money (especially a problem first thing in the morning). If you do not mind the detached shopping experience (its about as interactive as buying a sandwich in a German motorway service station at 2am), then its cheap ok food.

I love bagels & beans and as I've mentioned about other locations, I really think their standard…read moredesign only works in nice, bright and open spaces. This bagels & beans happens to be one of those "good" spaces. The food and drink is exactly the same as at any other location so that's good. The one thing that does bother me about all bagels & beans' is that somehow we always manage to order at least one thing that they're out of, which is annoying enough but hey, shit happens, the really annoying thing is that they don't tell you as soon as you're greeted at the table. Quite often this results in a full re-examination of the menu which is a fairly painstaking and long process at times. Other than that, there's not much wrong with any bagels & beans. Service is always good, toilets are always clean and the food and drinks are always tasty. Yum.

So if you're craving some awesome coffee to take with you, this is a great place to get it. This place sells the most potent coffee I've ever tasted. The first time I brewed it in my french press, I was up until well past 4:30am and it felt like I could see through time. When my boyfriend has a cup or two, he's bouncing around the house at 2:30am putting together Ikea furniture when he normally can't keep his eyes open past 11pm. I don't know what they do to it, but it's pretty amazing. What's even better is their Ethiopian coffee liqueur. It's like Kahlua but not opaque and not as sweet. It's just delicious alcoholic coffee goodness. The owner will tell you a story about how it's distilled in Amsterdam and refined to a point where it's almost pure alcohol, but the bottom line is it makes a White Russian that even The Dude would be envious of.
