I hope you can catch Debbie in and this gem open! Like she told me, she's always there except when…read moreshe's gone! LOL she was the perfect shopkeep. Interested in my story and happy to share hers or just let you quietly browse and poke around among her artfully displayed treasures. If you want an authentic TN experience, this is it. As Debbie told me herself, "I'm a Teneesee girl! You can hear it when I talk." Yeah, you can! She has a great eye for color and display and acquiring interesting and one of a kind finds. She's been at it for 25 years. I bought some very cool wooden napkin rings-a hodgepodge of shapes but all the same color and size-and a hand-carved duck (dish?-it opens into a bottom and lid if that a dish makes). Good variety of wares, great prices. Bring cash! Debbie don't do cards! My favorite stop on the square! I swear, if we didn't live so far apart, we would be friends!

This is a fairly large antique mall with lots of vendor booths, it's clean and organized and filled…read morewith mostly what I consider quality items and not so much junk or garage sale items and as you'd expect the prices reflect this. These types of shops are generally a little higher priced due to the overhead and commissions the buildings owners charge for the display space but I'd expect there's still a little room to negotiate a better deal, I always try and bring enough cash to cover anything I may want to purchase while antiquing, I've found cash is still king in this arena and I always offer an out the door price which includes any taxes I leave it up to them to figure that out so flash the cash when you are serious about the purchase and close the deal as fast as possible. This place is definitely worth the time it takes to checkout the inventory, I'd say Crossroad Trading turns over its inventory and has new items arriving daily, remember this is a business unlike the mom and pop shops that are more of a passion for the proprietor to collect than anything else, if it's displayed here they want to move it there's not any kind of attachment to anything here and if they say there is I'd call BS...

There are nice things but it is very cluttered and things are stacked on top of each other. A whole room of dolls and toys that are just piled in there. So be prepared to spend some time and dig for treasures. It's not a snobbish upscale place where everything is spit polished and displayed on glass shelves in nice wide aisles with bright lighting.
