Beautiful view of the bridge, plenty of hot sand and unlimited cold ocean water. Parking is not easy but can park in the residential and walk down here. Restrooms shower optional

In honor of Earth Day I was encouraged to share Baker Beach. We visited for the first time a few weeks ago and it was a beautiful day. The view of the Golden Gate bridge is perfect. We brought blankets, sandwiches, chips and sodas and ate lunch on the beach. The water is ice cold but the experience is worth it.

One of my favorite beach crabbing spots with a view ..The Gate on on side and open ocean on the other... unfortunately many people enjoy leaving their trash all over the sand occasionally...nevertheless a great day spot !

Awesome beach with chilly water, shore break and an excellent view of the golden gate bridge! There are only 2 cons: parking and the porta potties without toilet paper- BYOTP!!! Other than that, this place would be an excellent spot to have a beach day. I intend to do that next time I'm in the area!

This is my go-to beach whenever I'm in SF. So pretty and plenty of space for a nice picnic/beach day. We went on St.Patty's weekend so it was busier than usual but there's always plenty of parking. We parked on the street which was about a 10-15 minute walk from the beach- not bad at all!

Probably the best place to visit the ocean in SF. Went today - what a way to beat the heat - very popular place to go on this long holiday weekend. The whole city today was buzzing. Little Italy had double the amount it normally does on an afternoon and the perfect weather had people out and about. Very scenic beach. I feel as if its best for photo opportunities - wedding photos and such. The beach is very close to Golden Gate bridge and popular with tourists and locals alike. This is in the Presidio technically - so it is government owned land - don't try anything funny - leave your weed at home. I don't think its allowed here. Police and security in this area is incredible. I once saw a homeless take a seat at a bus stop bench and the police got rid of him within 5 minutes. They drive around and have nothing to do. So be careful. Cross your T's dot your i's.

I may have left a small part of my heart at Baker Beach. When visiting SF for work, two of my friends and I knew we had to go see the bridge even if it was for a brief amount of time. While doing my research (on Yelp, of course) I came across this beach -- easy to access, beautiful views and you can see the whole bridge! We grabbed breakfast to-go, and hopped in our uber to Baker Beach. What a BEAUT. The fog was still rolling out, but during our time there it slowly disappeared and the sun started to peak. The waves crashing, the bridge in the distance, and a long walk on the beach with some friends was the perfect start to the morning. It was chilly, but not as bad as I expected it to be down by the beach. There were so many dogs playing, which brings me so much joy to see! It was well kept, no liter, just truly a beautiful spot. I highly recommend baker beach as a spot to relax and check out the Golden Gate Bridge from a distance! So beautiful. I can't wait to come back.

The ocean is so calming! Yesterday was a peaceful day with little to no people around. I just wanted to share the beautiful views, I got to take in.... If you have never been to this beach you should give it a try.

I was looking for a nice coastal scenic walk while in San Francisco and I seen this one pop up near the Presidio. There is a parking area at Baker Beach. People are coming and going so you may be lucky and find one. It's a short walk to the beach, but if you're going for a walk, just follow the little trail along the fence that goes parallel to the coast. There are signs along the way that tell you the distance yo each part. The hike can get a little challenging because it does incline and decline in areas. There are a few areas with steep stairs. But for the most part, it is pretty easy. It took us about two hours to go up and back. Once we reached The Golden Gate Bridge views, we turned back. It got really cold once we got to that spot. It was foggy that day on a Sunday afternoon. I would recommend taking a sweater just in case. Overall nice hike.

Absolutely beautiful spot to see the Golden Gate Bridge. My first time! First trip to San Francisco, first time seeing the bridge. We came on an overcast, windy, April morning. It was cold, indeed. Bundle up and prepare to have your hair swept around. There were some people that seemed like locals playing with their dogs and collecting trash, but overall the beach was not very busy. Parking lot was pretty much empty. The sand is a medium-tan color and fairly compact closer to the water, I think we even saw a couple of seals popping their heads out of the water. I imagine this is one of the more accessible beaches with a view of the bridge. There are no steps between the parking lot and beach. There's also a few cool looking walking paths up in the bushline! I would absolutely come back, hopefully on a warmer day.

Nice beach area... started here to see the Golden Gate Bridge and take in the beauty of it all. It seemed surreal after seeing the bridge on tv programs all these years. Spent about an hour or so at the beach.

Greg F.

Really nice beach. We did this beach first then walked further up to marshals beach which i would say is better simply because it's closer to the bridge. Bakers beach had better views to the south and homes along the cliffs

Monika P.

Baker Beach is breathtaking with postcard-worthy views of the Golden Gate Bridge. On a clear day, it feels magical -- the ocean waves, the sandy stretch, and that iconic bridge in the distance. I loved walking along the beach and through the trees. There are shaded areas with trails and open sandy spots to sit and relax. Dogs were running happily off-leash, which made the space feel extra joyful. That said, be prepared: the beach is rustic and natural. Some areas have uneven paths, driftwood, and sand that can be tough to walk on. It's not polished, but that's part of the charm. One thing I noticed is that people need to do better about picking up their trash, especially during the government shutdown. These beaches are treasures, and it's up to all of us to help preserve them. If you want a peaceful break from the city and some of the best views in San Francisco, this is the place. Just bring good shoes for the trails and a jacket for the wind, and please help keep this beach as beautiful as it is.

I definitely have seen dogs on baker beach

Is this beach still a nudist beach? If so…

Women can go there nude but don't so much anymore. Men need to police the other men who stare and throw pebbles at women like an animal at the zoo. Otherwise no women don't go because they don't want to be visually assaulted by predators.

I am not sure 🤠

How's the parking ? is is bad?

Do we have to pay for parking?

I want to go, but not sure when the perfect time of year id?

The great thing about DSF is that they provide all the gear necessary for your catch. We were going out for Tuna as Bluefin are now found in the waters off the west coast, we were all pretty excited to go fishing. All we brought with us was food and drinks, having everything else included was a bonus. In the event we caught anything, they'll cut, clean, gill and give us fillets. The boat ride was awesome, no one got seasick thank goodness, there's ample seating inside and out. It was super foggy in the early morning, but cleared up by the time we started. I've not been on a fishing boat prior to this trip, and I was blown away at how scenic and beautiful the water was out there. The bright sunshine gave the water a super bright blue appearance, it was cool. Captain Kyle and his deckhand got everyone rigged up and ready to fish. The Captain is youthful and took his time answering questions and giving advice. His mixture of humor and knowledge of where the fish were was certainly a bonus because as soon as lines were in the water we heard, " Fish On!" That first Tuna took everyone on board including my son Parker to reel it in ( Posted Picture). What a freaking rush. It was exciting watching as everyone reeled something in on the boat. We laughed, joked and had such a fun day out on the water with friends. On our way back in to harbor the Captain pointed out several whale pods swimming around the boat, it was a trip seeing them jump. We enjoyed our lunch and talked about who caught the biggest tuna. In all honesty, that first one was the biggest in my book. I can't say enough great things about Captain Kyle and his Diamond Sport Fishing. Reservations were easy as charters go out practically daily either 1/2 or full days. The waters off of California are changing, getting warmer, they're seeing Bluefin Tuna and Marlin so who knows, maybe our next trip we'll catch something epic! Overall Impression: A+
