Chicken Peri Peri Fries and The Peri Dawg
    Jenny G.

Out of all the options at Chattahoochee Food Works, we decided to try Baked Kitchen because we had never had South African street food before! However, we ordered two very similar dishes: the Peri Dawg and Chicken Peri Peri Fries - we wished we ordered two distinctly different dishes. Peri Dawg: The sandwich was a little soggy from all the sauces, but the roll was buttery. Chicken Peri Peri Fries: Overall, the dish was flavorful - the chicken was tender, but the fries were soggy from the toppings.

The Baked Kitchen is located in the Chattahoochee works food hall. It is South African cuisine. This was my first time having anything from there and I was quite surprised. I have the chicken peri peri skewers. This dish was very exquisite with a little bit of spice. I urge you to try this place as well as others within the food hall. I have provided pictures for your viewing pleasure. The cost is a little pricey but it is inside Atlanta.

Of all the food options at Chattahoochee Food Hall, I was most excited to try Baked Kitchen. I love trying all the South African fare the city has to offer, and I would say this is now one of my favorite spots. The meat was extraordinarily tender and everything I ordered was packed and just looked so dang good. Here's what I got: + Peri Dawg - For both dogs, I would say that the price is a little steep for what you get. They're so good that it's no dealbreaker, but if you're really hungry, I'd just spend a tad more to get the extremely filling plates. This was really good - I added crunchy onions. + OG Bobby Johnson - I liked this one better between the two! The cucumbers were delicious and crisp and tasted great with whatever white sauce that was with it. + Sosaties - this dish was outstanding. The lamb with the apricot was a match made in heaven. So was the apricot jalapeno BBQ sauce. I really loved the mac n cheese. Everything in that dish blended so well together. I would reorder this dish ten million times if I could! + Chicken Peri Peri Fries - the blistered cherry tomatoes were such a nice touch and added lightness to the fries. The chicken was cooked to perfection. Overall my favorite spot at the food hall and would highly recommend it to everyone going!

I was looking around The Works food hall for a new restaurants. Baked kitchen just cut my eye. This is my first time trying Chicken Peri Peri. I didn't know what to expect. It took little longer then I expected. Waited 25mins. I understand it was weekend. The Chicken Peri Peri skewers($14.95) are comes with 2, cooked and seasoned wonderfully and sits on a bed of yellow rice with some pickled pink veggie(I don't know what kind) on the side. My favorite was Mac & Cheese. It was full of flavor with cheesy and Little bit of crunch on the top.(It was Potato chips) makes perfect texture, dancing in your mouth. More I eat it, want it more!!! I can comfortably say this is the one of the best mac & cheese in ATL!!!! You won't be disappointed! Try today.

I enjoyed it, but I definitely enjoyed The Works itself more. I liked the idea of getting to try South African food, but was pretty disappointed. Tbh, it was really expensive. I got the bowl and it was about $17, and was decent. Sadly, it was mostly just yellow rice. Sure it was good, but it also took over 20 mins to get it. If I go back I'll try something else. The bowl wasn't worth it imo.

The most delicious thing at Chattahoochee Food Works!if you are looking to try something unique and flavorful, Baked Kitchen is your spot. I got the Lamb Skewers. There are also apricot pieces so a nice savory sweet balance! There were so many delicious thing to choose from. I will say the menu can be a bit overwhelming but the owners are super sweet and there have photos of what each dish looks like to help. There was a good amount of meat and everything was favored amazingly! I will be going back again for sure!

Located in the food hall area of Chattahoochee Food Works, we stumbled across this South African cuisine stall. Don't think my husband and I have ever had South African food so we decided to give this place a shot. They have photos of each dish they're serving for those not familiar with South African food. The sweetest lady took our order - I got the salad and he got the burri plate. We paid and was told to come back in 12 mins to pick up our food. Exactly 12 mins later, we came back and our food was ready for pick up. My salad was topped with tons of chopped chicken. It had chopped romaine, cucumber, cheese, fried onions, red onions. I didn't use both of the salad dressings provided since I didn't think it needed it. My husband got the burri plate and he said it was okay. The sausage was flavorful but the casing on sausage was still pretty tough. He did like rice and Mac and cheese combo though.

My first time at The Works, and my friend and I decided to try the Chicken Peri Peri fries. It was so good! So many flavors and textures, and the portion was huge. The chicken was amazing, super tender and flavorful. Fries were crispy and was covered in two amazing sauces. I wasn't the biggest fan of the mac & cheese on the fries, as I didn't enjoy the flavor. I like how they added cherry tomatoes to cut the heaviness of the fries and mac & cheese. Overall, it was great! Definitely will be back for the chicken!

We've been working our way through the Chattahoochie Food Works food hall & had the good fortune of trying the food at Baked Kitchen today. This eatery has a South African flavor the owner also pairs with Southern comfort food like an amazing baked macaroni cheese for the win. The flavors were fantastic! I had the Peri Peri Chicken skewers and my husband had the lamb chops. Both were excellent

I try a different place everytime I come to the Chattahoochee Food Works and Baked Kitchen is a must try. I tried the Peri Peri Chicken Skewers and the cheesy goodness and rice hit the spot. This dish is full of flavor. Highly recommend a Baked Kitchen!

One of the recently opened stalls at Chattahoochee Food Works. Seems to have a solid following and interesting dishes. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and ordered the Peri Peri chicken skewers. 2 chicken skewers, rice and Mac and cheese ($14.95). No line, so ordered quick and waiting about 5 minutes for the food. The dish was overall good. The rice was pretty plain. The Mac and cheese very tasty and SUPER cheesy. The chicken was good, but could have used more sauce/flavor. Chicken was also a little dry. I'm a huge Nando's (basically the international king of peri peri chicken) fan, so I was expecting something similar, but it left a little to be desired, especially in portion size for the price.

This past weekend we visited The Works Upper Eastside. For those of you unfamiliar, it's essentially an upscale food court: it's a conglomerate of various restaurants and vendors. There's so many amazing options to choose from but Baked Kitchen definitely pulled us in. My group of friends and I were unfamiliar with South African cuisine, but we were approached by one of the owners who introduced himself and walked us through the menu and he completely sold us. They specialize in South African street food. We all selected the SOSATIES which is a two tender lamb kabobs served over a bed of rice with a side of Mac and cheese and this special South African hot sauce that is actually more of a chutney that is packed full of flavors. The lamb cubes on the kabob was so tender and flavorful (nothing gamey about them) and they were sandwiched between grilled onions and each end of the skewer had a chargrilled apricot. The Mac and cheese was creamy and decadent, there was a nice assortment of pickled red onions on the side. As stated above, I would describe the hot sauce as more of a chutney as it's full of flavor and not so much heat. All the flavors married so well. From the food to the customer service and the willingness of the owner to take the time to walk us through the menu and explain things to us, I would 100% recommend. It's always nice to be culturally well rounded in what you eat and I now have street food from a new country to add to my repertoire of good items I love.

Paid 14+ with tax and tip for the chicken curry pie. It was definitely good but nothing crazy/probably not worth the price. It will not be a full meal on its own - it's a little small.

This was our first day trying it, and after lunch, we knew we had to return. The food is incredibly flavorful, truly unlike anything we've had before. For lunch, we shared the Rainbow Bowl, and for dinner we came back for wings (half BBQ, half mango lime marinade--SO good), a chicken Caesar salad wrap, Brussels sprouts, and their chips (fries). Everything was delicious, fresh, and generously portioned. The drinks were also a highlight--both the non-alcoholic and alcoholic options were refreshing and well-crafted. But what really made the experience special was the service. Kiran was such a sweetheart--kind, attentive, and just a joy to interact with. And another team member (possibly a manager) went above and beyond when they were out of shredded chicken. He had the kitchen substitute thigh meat for the Caesar wrap, and it turned out amazing. That level of care really stood out. All in all, this is a 10/10 experience (even if it's technically 5 stars!). We loved everything about it and are already planning our next visit--plus grabbing extra to-go for tomorrow. Bravo, Nando's! We'll definitely be back P.S. The app sux. It kept freezing. We want to talk to the people. Bring full service back. Said with love.

I've been blessed to hit Nando's spots globally, including that pilgrimage to the original in JoBurg, so when I say Nando's is doing something right, trust me. This is a fairly new franchise, and for the most part, they are absolutely hitting the target. I pulled up on a chill Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is a solid medium to large size, offering ample indoor and outdoor seating--a nice, modern spot for a quick, quality bite. The core of their business, the chicken, is always exceptional. It's fresh, flavored perfectly, and cooked with that moist interior you expect. More importantly, the sauce lineup is masterful--they truly are the MVPs here, carrying that legendary heat and zest. I know, I know--I went a little wild. I threw down for the 6 Wings & Chips and a side of Brussels sprouts, which were both solid and exactly what I needed. Then, I added the All the Trimmings Bowl (chicken thighs, mash, stuffing, creamy corn, chili jam, and gravy). Here's the only real critique: the bowl was simply fine. It wasn't bad, but it lacked that "wow" factor; it didn't shine the way the chicken and sauces usually do. It felt like an unnecessary addition to an otherwise flawless Peri Peri experience. I definitely had to take some home--big back status averted, technically. Ultimately, Nando's delivers that satisfying, high-quality flavor I've come to expect from this type of spot. It respects the legacy of the cuisine, and that's why I keep coming back. It's almost always fantastic, and a definite win for fans of South African chicken.

The ambience was so nice and the food was fantastic! My group got a few appetizers to try- all were tasty and so were the drinks. I noticed it was a different menu than the most recent time I went. The first time, I got the braised short rib and was very pleasantly surprised with the portion, flavor, and tenderness of the meat! Our server was great as well and helped us enjoy a fantastic evening. This past Sunday I went again with a small group of people around 4. There was only one other group eating in the restaurant at the time but they left shortly after we got there, leaving us the only ones in the space. Our server may have been new and not well trained- he didn't write down our three orders, which could have been fine but he had to come back and ask us what we ordered before he put it in. We got the smash burger, fish sandwich and chicken piccata. The burger looked nice, two patties and plenty of toppings, but my fish sandwich was absolutely lacking. At first, it looked great, but the more I ate the more I realized there was hardly any fish in there. To me, the fish seemed about 1 cm thick with a huge coating of breading sandwiched between a bun on either side... the coleslaw needed to be sharper, and the tartar sauce added to the heaviness of the meal, not the elevation of it. I felt I needed another meal after I finished. The chicken piccata was decent but was heavy on the lemon, to the point it wasn't enjoyable to finish. I probably won't be back because of the disappointing meal I had.

Piri-piri chicken, garlic bread, and zero self-control. Nando's is already one of our go-to spots, so it didn't take much convincing. The vibe hits that perfect sweet spot between casual and "we're pretending this is a planned night out." And the food? Consistently elite. My husband went with his usual: the 2 1/4 legs, hot. A bold man with a questionable spice tolerance, but I respect the commitment. I ordered the chicken thigh skewers, medium, because I like to feel something without seeing my life flash before my eyes. Now let's talk about the real star of the show: the garlic bread. I don't know what they put in it, but I would trust it with my financial decisions. It's that good. He also got the fries (which, okay... a little skimpy this time, Nando's, we noticed ), and I switched things up with the corn on the cob, which absolutely held its own. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we needed even though we didn't know we needed it. We met up with my sister and her kids, who ordered after us, but honestly the best part of the night was just hanging out, talking, and letting the table slowly turn into a graveyard of sauce-covered plates and crumbs. Final verdict: Came for matcha. Left with full stomachs, zero regrets, and a renewed emotional attachment to garlic bread. Would accidentally end up here again 10/10.
