The fruits and vegetables are great. The salsa and bread are fresh and good. CAREFUL WITH THE MEAT. Bought 6 lbs of carne asada prepared. Almost 1 lb is juice. $14.99 a pound.

Selling expired product and most awful part is they have a freezer full of that product. How a business like this cannot have quality control on products. The chicken bag I bought was expired 7 months ago. Never going back

I was craving fresh Bolillo to make some sandwiches at home. I went very early to Baja Ranch to get some. It is located in downtown Covina. They usually open at 7 AM. The Market was very clean. It was well stocked with fresh produce. I bought fresh vegetables and fruits. You can smell the fresheness of the hot bread which was so pleasant and irresistible. They have also fresh made tortillas. The staff are always nice and friendly there. it's easy to find a parking spot because the parking lot is spacious.

Grocery shopping

I like to rotate where I buy my weekly groceries. If I shop exclusively at one market, I end up buying the same thing over and over. It can become rather boring. I keep Baja Ranch as one of my go-to places. I can buy items here that are not available at other markets. For example, their bakery and hot deli foods are very good and made on the premises daily. We like the pan dulce, meat empanadas, aqua fresca, whole rotisserie chicken, tacos, burritos or enchiladas made as you wait. Buy individual servings or a tray with rice, beans or salad. The fresh meats from the butcher can be marinated or seasoned if you wish. I spotted some unusual items that must be popular to others, but I walk pass (rather quickly) when I see the pig ears or snout in the glass case! The dairy section and produce department is very clean and well stocked. The liquor section has a small selection, but you can find a good enough supply of beer, wine or hard liquor. You can stop here for breakfast, lunch or dinner and grab a few grocery items while you're airway here, save yourself a trip to store for the essentials. Switch it up, bring home something different this week. Don't forget to tell 'em Rosemary sent ya!!

The meat Ai wanted for 3 pounds is 2.99 per pound. They charged me $20 and the manager acted liked he didn't care..

They tried to charge me $20 for meat that was only $299. That's crazy to go through that as a customer. I spoke to the manager about the situation and he acted like he didn't care.

If it wasn't because my husband likes the ceviche from here I would NEVER COME!!!! It's sooo expensive and the food tastes spoiled. They had their bolillos sitting out on the racks not even inside the bolillo container. I bought chicken nuggets the deli ones and I got home started cooking them and they tasted like how a wet dog smells. I bought arroz con leche and it's very bland! It looks soiled too idk I'm honestly not impressed! I spent $80 on nuggets, ceviche, beef milanesa, bolillo, salsa, beans and some paletas (ice cream) for my kids. Rip off I rather go to northgate if I'm going to pay more I expect quality!! The food is garbage I'm upset with this economy a waste of money very much makes me mad! I swear all the food tastes hechada a perder like sour/ weird taste. I will post pictures in a bit when I'm less upset about losing money like this. And the employees are not very helpful that's probably why everything's all podrido I turned one corner and they're standing talking with the pallets just sitting there in the isle and then the carniceros chilling by the wall talking and laughing. This place is a joke I swear I wanna go back tomorrow and ask for my money back cause I just looked at the package dates for my pictures and now I know why everything tastes bad! It's from more than a week ago!!!!

I enjoyed my meal. Also, had lunch for the next day. Service was amazing, it was a busy night and they had plenty of servers. Drinks were never left empty and all employees were very content on helping all of us. In the way of ambience, this place has lots of seating indoors and a few tables outdoors. Be prepared for a little bit of a wait, depending on the time of day but well worth it. While we were there, they had several birthdays celebrated. With a little song and a little dessert.

Expect to wait cause this place is pretty popular in Covina. We waited around 35 mins which is fair being the weekend & brunch hour! They had the food buffet going on so my brothers got that (they didn't have many dessert options), my mom got the cocido soup which she enjoyed! I got the albondigas (meatballs were ground chicken) I actually liked my every much being a different kinda than what I am use too. Even warmed it up the next day for lunch at work! Still so yummy! My grandma got the cheese enchiladas which she loved. They also sang happy birthday & had the whole restaurant singing haha so that was cute & enjoyable. Recommend this spot if you're looking for delicious Mexican food!

Welcome Home We…read moreescaped the storm in Hawai'i and after a fun filled Spring Break week at Disneyland, my son's one and only request was to eat at Casa Moreno!! Thankfully we were able to detour from Anaheim on our way to LAX. Special shout out to the dedicated staff who graciously accommodated us and allowed us to sneak in a bit early in order to fulfill our cravings and still make our flight on time. I grew up going to Casa Moreno since the original spot in 1995, you can say it's home for me. My kids have therefore grown up visiting it every chance we get when visiting our family in the area. We generally all share and pass our plates around in true family style because we can never decide which all-star traditional plates to order. This time, the kid's quesadilla, 3 Amigos, Steak Fajitas, Chicken Flautas and Machaca made the cut. The look on my son's face when the sizzling platter was headed his way was just as magical as seeing him hug Chip and Dale. Every single bite warmed our hearts and filled our homemade food starved bodies. Casa Moreno is undeniably the greatest Mexican food that Los Angeles has had to offer for over 30 years. Their traditions span throughout three generations and the second you crunch those warm chips covered in their "Chilanga" salsa, you'll be hooked. The best part is that my local family is always there and pleased to come sit with us. We are all unfortunately spread apart across the country but Casa Moreno will always be the place that brings us together. Our shared experiences and memories there always make it HOME. Thank you Casa Moreno for all the sacrifices and hard work to stay around this long, it is very much appreciated by this LA girl living in Hawai'i.

It was tasty and there was plenty on the plate along with rice, beans, and a small salad. Absolutely love that they put a fire roasted chili on top, radish slices, and an orange slice. The service was great! As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted and asked if she could take my order. Sidenote, you order at the counter and they bring it to your table. They have a salsa bar, which I got a picture of, it will be in this review. All of the salsa looks fresh and tastes amazing! They serve fresh chips with a light amount of beans on top. Yummy! The ambience of this place is a cute trendy vibe. Since it is a couple days after Valentine's Day, they have decor for Valentines in the lobby and small hints throughout the restaurant. Definitely be forewarned they are a cash only business. They do have atm in the lobby. I had enough cash on me to pay for my food. Chili Verde plate and a small soda came to $23 and change.

Right away, the vibe was giving outdoor patio but with cozy indoor energy. Super clean inside and out, and the staff was really friendly. Our waitress this morning--her name was "B"--was the sweetest. Super kind, always checking in on us and making sure we were good. If you're like me and super indecisive, I usually stalk the menu the night before. But this menu was HUGE--pages and pages. I flipped straight to the brunch section in the back (three full pages!) and landed on the Supreme Skillet: potatoes, over-easy eggs, bell peppers, ham, and sausage. It came with three tortillas of your choice--I picked corn. Taste-wise, it was good, but I wish there were bigger and more pieces of meat. Compared to other skillets I've had, this one was a little light on the protein. It was $17.99. I'd rate it a 6.5/10, but with the refried beans on the side, it bumped up to a 6.9/10. My bestie ordered the Combo Benedict with French toast sticks, and honestly...the French toast sticks were the star. Super crispy, fluffy inside, and perfect with syrup. We also got the mimosa flight--mango, strawberry, and peach. All were tasty, super cute, and very Instagram-worthy. I can totally see this place popping at night with music and drinks. That said, even in the morning with only one other couple next to us, the music was pretty loud--it was kinda hard to talk during our brunch, literally had to look at besties lips to know what she's saying. I can't even imagine nighttime volume, lol. Overall: Ambience: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 3.5/5 Definitely a fun spot to try, especially if it's your first time! But def plenty better brunch food out there! Happy eats!

I love the locations that offer fresh crispy chips. I ended up ordering one of Desebrada Shredded Beef Burrito (wet) and they told me I could do the half red and green sauce. I also ordered one of the Chicken Dorado (crunchy taco). My wife ordered a taco combo plate and Jalapeño Vodkarita. The portions were generous and abundant. My burrito was hefty!
